Please notice that this restaurant charges you more (about 3.5%) if you use a debit or credit card, and they don't even tell you. In top of that, if you noticed, they are giving you less food for higher prices. We call on the phone to order a take out like we always do, the lady that answered the phone said we have to give her our credit card number so she can charge the order, we told her that nobody has ever ask us for that, we ask for her name, she refused, we ask for her manager, she refused and hang up. Went to the store to pick up the order and of course she never put it in. I asked the employee why the new rule of paying for your order before picking it up, she explained that any order over 40.00 have to be paid in advance. I told her that should be told to the client at time of ordering. Very bad service, food still good, but the gorditas are not gorditas any more. Time to find a new place!! read more

Wouldn't go back. First, the server took our order and we never saw her again. Someone else came about 25 minutes later asking if we'd been served. We told her our order was in and she went to check. About 5 minutes later our food was out. By that time I had long finished my tea and asked for a refill. She said she'd have to charge us for a refill. Of tea! And the tea wasn't actually very good. Kind of bitter. The original server didn't tell us there were no refills on tea. We'd have gotten water. Morning you will get hot coffee after 1030 you get warm coffee. Saw staff just standing around as we needed refills and food plate came out 2/3 hot and 1/3 cold. I had searched for "tacos" on Yelp - that is what I was craving today. I came across this restaurant and decided to check it out. I proceeded to the counter to look over the menu. After looking at the pictures I was not sure that I wanted tacos anymore. The Gorditas looked very tempting. So those were what I ordered. I ordered three different types of gorditas. I loved all three of them. Regardless of the type ordered, they were all juicy, flavorful, and very hot. If I had more room I would have ordered more -- they were that good! The restaurant appeared to be family ran. It was homey and very clean. I am trying to be more stingy with my five star ratings, but this place earned one. I cannot wait to go back! I discovered this place after craving Alamo's tamales, but not being able to make it there before they closed.So, I did the next best thing which was turning to the good ole faithful Yelp. :D Surprisingly, this place was waaay closer to my house than Alamo's, so I was VERY happy. I noticed a big emphasis on their gorditas, so I also ordered two gorditas- one bean and cheese (for my son), and one made with carnitas. The service was quick and professional which was another plus. Now for the final test- tasting the food. I must say I was not disappointed. Just looking at the food I could tell everything was freshly made. There were two types of sauces that accommodated the tamales and gorditas (one light, one dark), and they were both good. The darker sauce definitely had some kick to it, but enjoyable nevertheless. The tamales were seasoned, and the gorditas were quite nice as well. They were not very big, but for all that I got and only paying $8.66- can't beat a good deal. Only problem I had was when placing a large order of about 35-45 gorditas for a family gathering I requested specific kind of gorditas and barley got any of what I requested which was a bit disappointing. I have been twice in a week and am shocked I had never stopped in before! This is a really great spot for a quick (cheap) lunch. You take a seat and a waitress comes over with menus, takes your order at the table and then when you're ready to pay you just go up to the counter and tell them what you got!
