I met Satvir at an indian wedding fair and have enjoyed working with her. She was one of the best decisions I made in the wedding prep. As many of you know, decorations set the scene at the wedding, but can cost more than a large pretty penny (or lakh). Satvir has great taste, which is hard to come by in indian decorators. I wanted someone that would bring in enough indian tradition, but still impress my western friends with class and elegance. She did just that. I knew she was the one when I sat down with the first consultation with her, and she commented that a suggestion my mom made "would look way too indian and not fit with the other decorations" and I totally agreed. That said, she tried hard to please my fiance, my mom, and me (a clear balancing act of opinions). SB Arts did decorations for my pooja, sangeet, wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. It was easy to deal with one person for all events and she got things done flawlessly without needing assistance from us busy folk during the events. Satvir was very easy to work with and very reasonably priced. I get annoyed when decorators ask "what is your budget" because I do not think it is a fair question. I'll pay for what looks good and what I think is worth it. Satvir never asked that question. Instead, she gave me options with a variety of price points. For example, for the mandap area, she described what I could get for $600, $800, and $1000, then I could decide what look I was going for and where I wanted to spend my budget. She was also very practical in that she would reuse flowers from the ceremony to the reception, but made them look different because of the lighting and placement. Satvir gave us some good suggestions about making sure to always have a nice background for pictures since it a piece that lots of couples forget. My guests and I loved the decor and thought the wedding was grand. They kept saying that the decorations must have costed me a fortune. Well, Satvir is our secret. Thank you! read more

We decided to meet her and I am glad that we did. she took good time to explain us all the details. She did not force stuff on us just to make money. She even suggested better and inexpensive options that would fit our budget. We decided to hire her for my sisters wedding. She decorated all three different venues. When selecting a decor vendor for a wedding, you want one who has prior experience with the venues you have chosen, is responsive in communication, has reasonable prices, and of course most importantly understands what tasteful decor is. We contacted Satvir and a couple of other decor vendors about a year before a recent wedding in my family, and selected her. We also hired Bobby, Satvir's sister, who was helpful for one of our events that needed a lot of coordination. Here's why we would hire Satvir if we had to do this all over: 1. Of the vendors that we considered, Satvir has the most experience with popular venues in the Bay Area. We had separate venues for 3 different events, and I remember her saying that she could do the decor for one of our popular venues blindfolded. 2. In general planning and executing weddings can be very stressful. It helps to have a vendor like Satvir, who knows it is important to promptly respond to your emails/texts. 3. Satvir pretty much had everything we needed for decor at all 3 venues, but she was also willing to work with us when we decided on a separate vendor for flowers. She will also suggest ways to reduce cost without sacrificing the appeal of the decor. 4. She has reasonable prices for providing china/silverware etc, especially if your venue or caterer can't provide those without charging you an arm and a leg. In addition, Satvir can also provide serving staff. 5. Now that the wedding is over, and this is the most important reason for choosing Satvir: the feedback that we received from our guests was that our wedding decor was "very elegant but not extravagant". And this feedback is from some of our guests from the Bay Area who have attended weddings with unlimited budgets! Satvir and team transformed the Grand Hall into a space with ethereal and magical ambience and elegance. I was utterly floored when I walked into the room to see with my own eyes Satvir's talent with lights, fabrics, colors, flowers, centerpieces, and decorations. Satvir, by far of any Indian decorator in the Bay Area, has the absolute best selection of decoration pieces, fabrics, and centerpiece options. On top of that, she gives extremely competitive prices. Her tablecloth and backdrop fabric prices were unmatched. She has beautiful options for religious idols, statues, and other focal point centerpieces for Indian weddings. Satvir can essentially handle all decoration needs from A to Z - floral centerpieces, backdrops, mandaps, idols, tablecloths, lighting, etc. Bobby, the event planner for SB Arts, is amazing. She, like her sister, is professional, on top of everything, a top-notch manager, and just knocks out tasks before you even ask her to. She worked so hard for our event to get us organized (within a very short amount of time), and on the day of, I knew immediately that our event would flow well because of her. She was on time, worked extremely well with our venue's coordinators, knew all the vendors and worked well with them, and kept our event running on time. I have previously had so-so experiences with event coordinators, and Bobby just knocked it out of the park. Both Satvir and Bobby are responsive, on-time, professional, diligent, and courteous. They work with you to develop a vision and execute to transform that vision into something even better than you imagined. We hired Satvir and Bobby to decorate and coordinate our 350+ person South Indian wedding. We really enjoyed working with Satvir. Our wedding guests couldn't stop gushing about how beautiful the auditorium and mandap looked. Not only did Satvir do a stunning job decorating our wedding venue, she was extremely professional. She responded to email and phone inquiries promptly. In the months leading up to the event, we made several modifications to the decor/set-up. In addition to accommodating our wishes, Satvir immediately sent us an updated contract every time so we knew exactly how much the modifications would cost us. Our wedding was held at the Shiva-Vishnu Temple in Livermore. Satvir has done dozens of weddings at this venue and is on great terms with the temple management. All in all, it was a joy to work with Satvir. My only criticism is that she is somewhat limited in her decor options because she only works with the props and materials she has available at her warehouse. This worked perfectly fine for us. However, if you have a very specific vision and if that vision falls outside of the conventional aesthetic for South Asian weddings, I am not sure to what extent Satvir would be able to accommodate your needs. We hired Bobby for day-of coordination. Like Satvir, Bobby was excellent in the months/weeks leading up to the wedding. She responded to emails and phone calls promptly and met with us multiple times, both on and off-site, to review the sequence of events. My partner and I really liked having Bobby on the day of the event because she attended to our needs amidst the chaos and crowd of a big fat Indian wedding. She is very assertive and was good about keeping us on track when we were being pulled in a dozen different directions. However, it should be noted that my relatives and guests were more lukewarm about Bobby. They felt that she was bossy and rude. In my opinion, one needs to be that assertive and vocal to keep the unruliness of an Indian wedding in check. But perhaps Bobby could work on softening her tone so that it is less of a turn-off. All in all, though, we definitely recommend Bobby and Satvir! read more

We had selected SB Arts for our wedding and reception. Satvir did a great job in decorating our Mandap and Aisle. She converted our venue to a totally different place. Satvir was the most cost effective compared to other vendors. We were all blown away by the decor of the mandap, chairs and reception hall. She had a huge variety of centerpiece; drapes etc. and we could the choices that worked best for us. She was the most proactive of all our vendors. They work hard to make our vision a reality at a very reasonable price, but also provide practical advice to help us stay organized and on track and not fixate on things that don't matter in the long run. For example, Satvir was proactive in monitoring the weather and helping us make a last minute change in our mehendi party, quickly changing the decor elements to work at home vs. outdoors. Dearest Satvir, In my opinion, 'Wow" doesn't even begin to describe how great of a job you did on my wedding day! It goes far beyond! I can't express in words how beautiful the decorations you did for my wedding. All of our guests really appreciated and admired your work, and commented on how my decor was so unique from the others. I have heard of too many horrifying stories about wedding decorations, but when I walked in my bridal attire, I was mesmerized at the decorations and so were all the guests who felt they were all in an exotic place! I loved the welcome setting, with the Ganesha you added a mala on the statue, votives around it to give it a special touch and that beautiful green table cover was absolutely beautiful, so many of our guests raved about and took pictures. The draping& piping in the front room was done in such an elegant way, thank you for suggesting that idea in the first place. The main stage with the mandap was absolutely breath taking. I cried when I saw my mandap and it was one the best mandap I ever seen at a wedding and I am not saying it because it was my wedding. I loved that you added crystals, I wanted it so badly but couldn't afford and I can't believe you added that at no extra cost. Loved how you set the 6 pillars, perfect lighting inside each pillars, they were glowing. The piping and draping with different shades of green at the back of the mandap was just gorgeous. Your choice of flower colors on the mandap, aisle way went perfectly with the centerpiece flowers as we had discussed. I received several compliments and loved your work with the aisle. Once again, thank you for suggesting the candle bras and your flowers were, esp the green you picked went really well and matched with the scheme color lime green. Loved the dark red roses you added and once again your work with crystals hanging on the candelabras was something completely unique and elegant. And, thank you for providing the mirrors and votive holders for my centerpieces at no additional cost. And I will never forget you added a beautiful parchan area with white and green draping at no cost! I have to tell it was setup in such a nice way, all our friends and family utilized that beautiful setup for picture background after the wedding ceremony was completed. SB-Arts, I am so glad I found you; you were really easy to work with too. You always listened, literally spend hours discussing on each detail, responded to emails and returned my calls right away-hassle free. You are very creative and you absolutely take pride in what you do, it was showed all over my wedding décor. I've been meaning to write a review for the past 4 years and am only now getting to it! Satvir was absolutely wonderful. She did the decor for both our wedding and reception. I thought the wedding decor was absolutely breathtaking. We had a morning wedding on a day when the time changed (fall back), so she had to wake up especially early to arrange the mandap, flowers, etc. Regardless, everything was ready on time, and I was stunned at how pretty it looked. As for the reception decor, I loved her concept for the head table and cake table. I thought she had very reasonable prices, and the decorations were quite pretty. I was a bit disappointed by the flower centerpieces, as I felt the flowers seemed wilted and not that eye-catching, and yet they cost quite a bit, but otherwise, she did a phenomenal job. Satvir did the florals and decor for my wedding and reception and she was AWESOME. After meeting with several decorators, I decided to work with Satvir because she had a certain genuineness about her that I really appreciated. I am soooo glad I did! Throughout the planning process, Satvir was extremely responsive and patient (i.e. a dream wedding vendor). She was also extremely creative - she came up with tons of beatiful ideas - it became hard for me to choose from all of the options. With Satvir, I never had to stress about anything - she was always on top of any request I had. (I don't think she ever took more than a day to respond to an email and/or call.) On the day of, she arrived early and all of the set-up was completed with plenty of time to spare. I received a ton of compliments on the mandap she created as well as the amazing red/fuschia florals she designed.
