Their white slice is nice. Crunchy crust, not too greasy. Dough is not the thinnest, it is more on the thicker side, but still tastes good. Prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly with all kinds of ppl from this neighborhood. As i was sitting there having my slice, a guy came in, and he told them that he is hungry, but he is out of money. He was clean and polite, so they gave him a slice. This place is so terrible from taking the wrong orders from the phone to communication. I ordered two pizza slices and they send me garden salads instead. I called the pizzeria to send there driver back to pick up the wrong order they refused and told me to cal and write who ever I need to. Never again will I order from there. Great solid pizza place. Very easy stop for us as were traveling through on the parkway. No public restroom but it's a small place. The spinach and cheese calzone was excellent. Love their pizza and rolls, but not crazy about the rest of the food. The chicken Caesar wrap I ordered had gigantic chunks of chicken that needed to be taken out and cut up. The chicken was also a bit rubbery. I was surprised, because their chicken pizza is delicious! Especially their slice w/ chicken cutlet, tomato, and onion. I don't get to go very often, but love their white pizza and spinach pizza. They have a really thin crisp crust...i don't know how they do it but it's my favorite crust. Both pizza mentioned above don't have tomato sauce and I don't miss it. So flavorful...buttery and garlicky. read more

I called this place on a Tuesday at around 9:25pm to place an order for delivery. I told the guy over the phone i was paying with card and he said ok. Did mot even bother to ask me for my card number, so I assumed they carried the debit card device with them to charge once they deliver. They guy who took my order told me 1/2 hr, because they close at 10:00pm. I said fine. 1hr later and I still have not received my order or gotten a call saying we are on our way or at least an update. At this point is already 10:30 and I cannot call the store because of course its closed. So I decided to give it up n call somewhere else. At 10:45pm I get a call from the delivery guy saying He could not find my building. When they have deliver to my building many times. My pizza arrived cold and they said I should have said I was paying card, when I did. The buffalo chicken pizza is very salty and disgusting, the pepperoni as well very salty. If you want to eat from here, go to the shop itself. Do not order for delivery. Terrible service and bad pizza. read more

Shocked that in this day and age a food establishment could get away with food handlers smoking while they prepare food (without gloves on!!!). When I went in here last week not only was the employee incredibly rude he was also smoking a cigarette plain as day while making someone's pizza!!! Scalas have been getting better and better. The owner is a REAL NICE GUY. It's a chewy pizza and not as thin as I'd like but the sauce is now better and more flavorful than Joe's. Parking sucks in the area unless you can get there between 9-3. Their spaghetti, chicken parm sub, and chicken calzone are all spot on. We go as often as we can but not often enough. read more

Unfortunately, this business has portrayed themselves as an Italian pizzeria and portraying Italian food. I've been more than patient with this establishment since I've moved into the neighborhood over 5years ago. They went under new management and I hoped it would get better. Being Italian from Italy and knowing Italian cuisine very well, I argue and challenge this. This is nothing more than a cheap pizza shop that uses processed food, over charges for it and can't get an order correct on multiple occasions. I came in to this pizzeria because it was recommended to me by a friend, I'm not going to lie the food was good but the customer service... I came in I was greeted by nobody. I was asked by a women (who was somewhat rude) what I wanted as I was telling her my order she tells me to tell an older lady who was very nice. I ordered my food waited approximately 20-30 minutes because I did have a large order that wasn't pizza. As I'm waiting other costumers are coming in and nobody greeted them and the 1st lady just kept looking at everyone who was walking in with a annoyed look. I don't know if they were having a bad day or what but the 1st lady and an older gentleman didn't seem to happy to be there but the older women was very active on top of her job! I also noticed that there was a "under new management" sign. I have never been here before so I don't know if they got better or worse but all I know was that i did not enjoy the customer service. Recently started ordering from Scala now that they are on Grubhub and I have to say I'm really happy with their food and service. The delivery man is quick, friendly, and accurate. They make a really good chicken Ceasar salad, which is large enough to share. My kids love the chicken fingers from here oh and the pizza too! read more

Scalas is my favorite pizza place! I've loved this place since I was in middle school and nothing has changed. Their pizza isn't too thick or too thin. I hate that tangy tomato sauce many pizza places like dominoes uses, and this place is more sweet, not like sugary - but more like garlic-ey sweet. It's nice and oily too. Like I said it's the opposite from dominoes/digiorno type pizza. I highly recommend it! read more

There are three kinds of pizzaria pizza in this world. The awesome pizza, the awful pizza, and the "OK. So, it's pizza" pizza. Fleetwood has a lot of pizza to chose from, and it's all OK pizza; all priced competatively. So how does a girl who constantly confuses Fleetwood and Locust Aves; Broad and Grand Streets go about selecting her go-to pizzaria in Fleetwood? Attitude. The people at Scalas are nice. They're nice to me, nice to my kids, nice all-around, nice all the time. I don't like to patronize establishments run or operated by rude people. Not when there are nice people who want my business. And the people at Scala's (I've decided they're a mom and a son, but who knows?) are that. Is this is a weak review because there's no discussion of sauce and cheese, or the thickness of the crust? Hey, it's NY pizza! It won't shock your senses, it won't offend you, it won't send you into some altered state of bliss. But it's good, it's fresh, and like I said, the people are really nice. read more
