Prices are crazy. I've got a bacon cheeseburger and a small soda and it cost me $21.90. They charged me four dollars for a small soda. It says special of the day they charged me $.08 and to go order they charged me $.25 WTF. I will never order again. The burger was good, not sure it was worth the price though. read more

Great Breakfast Experience @ Mom & Pop's Diner in Moses Lake, WA. ! We were in search of a delicious breakfast from a local establishment in the area and we were happy to be here. Cute caboose vibes. Glad we came late morning before it got too hot! Fans and AC were on blast. We were greeted and seated upon entry by a lovely young lady. Basic menu options. A quaint little diner in Moses Lake if you have the time. This diner is situated inside of an old train car but that is a stretch as the train car was gutted years ago and the dining area does not make you feel even remotely like you are dining on a train whatsoever. We visited during July, and the dining area was too hot for our comfort. They did have a domestic home air conditioner mounted in the side of the building, but it only cooled a portion of the dining space. While waiting to order, my wife was privy to a back-room area where they keep a refrigerator or freezer full of their breads presumably for freshness but that does not really translate. All of our breads seemed just a bit off. The bun on my French dip was toasted on the outside but soggy and doughy on the inside. The rest of my table complained about the bread being a bit off as well. The service was friendly and the rest of the scene was up to par but overall, I wouldn't chance going back to this diner. Too hot, too crowded, the food wasn't worth the wait or price and the ambient feel of the place was underwhelming. read more

My friends and I were staying up in Moses Lake for this Memorial Day Weekend. We were looking for a nice brunch to have before heading out for the rest of day, and we stumbled across this diner. Upon entering, we were greeted by a cute train lay-out design which added to the experience. While the staff were friendly, we felt that service was slow at times, but that could also be due to the fact that it may have been busy at the time. I ordered the chicken fried steak, which was good. I think it could be improved if the chicken felt more crispy, as it was covered and gravy and had more of a softer texture. Would definitely have driven by, the outside doesn't add value to the quaint train car seating area. Walking in the plates looked delish, however once we received our breakfast the texture was unappealing. We ordered the basic American breakfast bacon, eggs OE and hash browns. Chewing the hash browns could be an Olympic sport, so chewy. Eggs were perfect, bacon nice and thick but also chewy. Friendly staff, and my coffee was always full. read more

In my defense, I think I have a pretty diverse palate and while I am not overly hard to please, I know good food when I taste it! So after a few poor, recent experiences with a few different chain restaurants known for breakfast foods, we decided that we should try something local while we were on vacation and we found ourselves at Mom and Pop's Diner! Don't let appearances deceive you, this place is great! The outside might not be the most inviting but the inside is warm and homey! The food came fast and it was good! I had two of the largest, fluffiest, moist pancakes that I have ever had! They were seriously almost an inch thick each. The sausage links were thick and full of flavor and cooked just right, unlike most sausage links you find in chain restaurants. The scrambled eggs were light and fluffy and did not remotely resemble the plastic eggs you get at chain restaurants. This was good meal! It could have been something my mom made! Do not waste your money. We had breakfast here and it was not worth it. My husband had biscuits and gravy, which were passable, very little sausage but it's was fine. I ordered the strawberry waffles. What they brought out was one waffle only slightly larger than a typical frozen waffle, it wasn't thick either, like a Belgian waffle. Basically what you can make with a cheap home waffle iron. The strawberries were oddly served in a ramekin on the side, not by request, with a dollop of whipped cream on top. Also, rather than a dispenser of syrup, it came with the tiniest plastic condiment cup of syrup I have ever seen. When I poured the strawberries/whipped cream onto my miniscule waffle I was disgusted to find three quite small strawberries and a whole lot of what I will call juice. It was basically like pouring strawberry flavored water on my waffle, causing it to be extremely soggy. We all know that restaurant waffles are a rip off, generally priced similarly to other breakfast menu items, but never accompanied by eggs, bacon, or sausage. But I was craving a waffle, so I was prepared to pay. But this was ridiculous, even by typical waffle rip-off standards. When our waitress asked how everything was, I told her that the waffle was a joke and definitely not worth the price. She wholeheartedly agreed and I asked that she let the cook know how I felt. As it happens, we were seated by the thin wall directly adjacent the kitchen, so I was able to hear their conversation. She relayed exactly what I had said, to which he replied " well you can tell her that next time she shouldn't order the waffle." LOL - like there is ever going to be a next time. What an asshole. Anyway, save your money and eat somewhere, probably anywhere else. Oh! And I usually have water with my meals. It literally tasted like dirt. So I ordered an overpriced cup of black tea, because at least the water would be boiled. read more

After reading the reviews of the chicken fried steak, my wife and i were really looking forward to it, but we left disappointed. It was way overcooked (curling on the ends) and the gravy was bland like cafeteria food. The hashbrowns and eggs were good though. Tried the cinnamon roll and really didnt care for it either (we like them soft and chewy and this was more breadlike with soso frosting that tasted like it was left uncovered in the fridge). Service was quick and good despite being very busy. The railcar is kinda cool too. Probably wont be back, and will try to find another breakfast diner in the area. read more

We go way back with this ol' streetcar diner, and we are not locals. BBQ Depot, Manny's, and now Mom & Pop's. They've been here for several years, and it's good to see they have staying power to keep it going over the last few, tough months. It was breakfast. Just what we were lookin' for. Neat restaurant in what looks like a Train Car but SUPER SMALL portions with super high prices. We paid $15.00 for a Bacon Cheese Burger with Fries. The burger was good but the Bacon was really hard and difficult to bite. The fries were REALLY good, fresh and hot BUT they gave a SUPER SMALL portion of Fries. That was disappointing to us. Because of the small portion of French Fries I don't believe that we will go back to this restaurant when we pass through. They need to serve larger portions of fries as they are the least expensive item on the lunch plate. If we don't feel like we get our moneys worth we wont go back. read more

Our first time there, and we probably won't be back!! On to the positive first, the food was pretty good... I'm not surprised because its hard to screw up basic scrambled eggs and bacon. My husband ordered chicken fried steak and he said it was good. Anyway, the major issue started when they sat us at a table of 4, when we had 5 people. No problem, but with the social distancing they claimed pulling up a chair wasn't going to work due to the guidelines. We were more than 6 feet from someone and probably exactly 6 feet from another table. They said we can sit there until a table of 5 opens up, but we can't be served. After 15 minutes or so, we asked to sit outside since there was no one out there.... After awhile we were moved and pretty much forgotten about after that. From start to finish it took approximately an hour and 15-20 minutes to get our food!! My 8 and 6 year old kids were starving!! Then, in between all the waiting, and during eating you'd think the waitress would check to see if we needed water, or more napkins, etc. But NO, she was terrible. She gave us the bare minimum attention and service. The generic, "Have a good day" as we left, but no apologies for our wasted time. In the end, its not worth it. If you are single or have 2 people, maaaaaaybe, but honestly I don't think anyone should give them their time. The only reason why I gave 2 stars is because the food tastes good (not great), but everything else is 0! To add, seeing folks served when you were there first.... seeing people being served, eat and LEAVE and you still haven't been served NOTHING but the luke warm juice!
