FLIGHTS ON TIME AND DIDN'T GET CANCELLED =========================== The fact that my four of my flights with them this month were on time and didn't get cancelled was a big plus. On an international flight you'll get two meals, but I declined the second meal each time even when I upgraded one leg to business class. Quite honestly the premium economy seats were more comfortable than the rock hard lie flat seats in business class. But it's nice having the restroom designated for business class only. So for about $500 extra per ticket one way you get more space and maybe a bigger restroom, but the food and comfort isn't a lot better. As of the end of April they'll be cancelling flights due to the fuel shortage, so at least I'm thankful we made it back. Also, ignore and report any fake reviews or tips from scammers with phony profiles. They really muddy up the Yelp waters in a bad way. read more

IV. Flight A. We flew a Airbus A330, with 2-4-2 configuration in Economy. There was plenty of overhead space for my one carryon. The 10 hour flight was fully booked, and I got to sit next to a very pleasant lady. It was unclear if the flight was going to have free wi-fi: we ended up with none. The food and seating was good (a decent beef and rice dish), and we got one alcoholic beverages (with very frequent refreshes of hot tea and coffee). Each seat did have video screens, with a very small selection of 10 Christmas themed movies (e.g. Home Alone). B. The flight attendants were some of the most rough I've seen on an international flight. Our male attendant reminded me of what would happen if a Nordic Viking became a flight attendant: very direct, not much smiling except to other co-workers, and the serving of food and beverages basically being 'thrown' at you with no words, with no choices, as if I should feel lucky to get that. If the intent was to slightly scare a passenger into not asking for anything from him, it worked. The other female attendant was nicer, but wasn't really helpful (e.g. couldn't help me put up the video monitor from my seat...finally figured it out myself). The one very important thing that both emphasized was making sure any refuse was immediately cleared. A different attendant gave connecting information before we landed. I seemed to be the only person going to Paris, so she advised me to check with the 'transfer desk' once we landed. V. Layover A. Once we landed, and we got cell service, checked the SAS App. It had indeed rerouted me, flying through to Frankfurt. Had to accept the rebooking (no additional cost); all of it was doable via the app. The flight was scheduled to leave 20 minutes after we landed, so didn't think I was going to make it. But because no checked bags and was fairly mobile AND the immigration line wasn't too long (got lucky there), got to the gate in 20 minutes. Figured I had missed it, but proper communication had been given and the gate agent had been holding up the last shuttle to the plane, waiting for me. I wonder how long they would have waited for me... (in case I had to go to the washroom, or immigration was slow, or I got lost with the signs). B. The plane leaving CPH was SAS, but the flight from Frankfurt to Paris was Lufthansa. The communication between the two non-partner airlines wasn't nearly as good, causing more fret. But that's another story. read more

Our flight out was delayed by five hours, because of this, we missed our connecting flight to our final destination. We were initially rebooked for a connecting flight that left our layover destination at 6:15p but did not exit the airplane into 6:18p. We lost a day in our final destination. To add insult to injury, the flight attendants were curt and seemed bothered when asked for anything. When I asked for a second glass of wine, on a nine hour international flight, I was told passengers are allowed one glass with dinner. On the return flight, the attendants were much more pleasant. The wine, the only alcoholic beverage available, was still limited to one glass with dinner. The wifi was still spotty, at best. For their finishing touch, they damaged my suit case and over a month later, they have refused to take responsibility, insisting that I was supposed to find someone from their airline in an office that opens for six hours a day to have it documented. I have called this office in LA and left a dozen messages. I have called and called, often the voice mail is full and will accept no more messages. A month later, still no response. When I call the 800 number, if I am lucky enough to reach someone, they insist that I need this documentation number from the office that seems to not exist and which from their outgoing greeting is open only between 10a and 4p Monday to Friday. This means even had I known to look for this office, it would've been closed when we arrived. The worst experience I've had with an airline and they damaged my luggage to boot. I strongly advise against giving this airline your business. read more

They put you in a bidding war for business class. I got notification that I won. When I got to the airport they put me in premium, not business class. Every step of the way, the bidding said I was going for a business class upgrade. This airline was a nightmare bc two days ago I got notification that my flight was cancelled. I called my travel agent and also American Express who said the flight was not cancelled. I attempted to call customer service and they were closed, only open 9-5 eastern time. I am in the western time zone. When I finally got through to the customer service, they said they were "considering" canceling the flight, but decided not to. They put passengers in a panic 2 days before the flight for absolutely no reason. They also had incorrect traveling dates on me! I will never fly SAS again read more

I had the BEST experience flying SAS, business class. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the food was delicious, and the planes were clean. There wasn't more I could ask for. The only downside is that they don't fly anywhere else. read more

SAS is one of my favorite international airlines. And, it is my favorite European airline. They are a very well organized airline, it is easy to make online reservations, the staff is all exceptional, and everything from the food to the drink to the everything else is very good. In this review I want to speak specifically to their business class, which, by it's very design is very-very good. Their business class has pod seating with fully reclining seats so you can easily sleep through as much of the flight as you want to. The food on these flights is exceptional. I mean, where else can you have venison as an appetizer and duck as your main course while flying through the skies? They also have a very good selection of wines, beers, cocktails, and other drinks. Plus, as expected, they have a wide variety of movies and other visual and audio entertainment. SAS is a member of the Star Alliance so you're always certain that you will be able to spend your preflight in a nice lounge area where all of your needs will be taken care of. Overall, great airline. Highly recommended. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. We booked a flight that was cancelled due to Covid; they said the one year validity of the flight credit wouldn't apply because of the circumstances. When we reached out to use our flight credit they said no, because it was over a year later! We had been unable to go during that year because we both work full time. First time flying SAS. Because they are now servicing lax to Stockholm they were offering an introductory fare for $99 each way in economy. Yes $99!!! So decided to go for a long weekend at that price. About 8 hours before the flight I got an email that offered an upgrade for another $140. Extra legroom and a bigger seat for a 10 hour flight...yes please! When I checked in at the counter they seemed very unorganized. Or maybe it was just the agent I got. Anyway I was glad for the upgrade because in economy class they don't serve free drinks, you have to pay for everything. I have never heard of having to pay for anything on a long haul flight. First let me describe our experience. Flight out of LAX was delayed by three hours. This meant that we arrived in Stockholm after our connecting flight was already boarded. We had to de-plane, ask a customs person for assistance through passport control, then "run" to the gate for our connecting flight, only to find out that they were holding the flight until we arrived. What should SAS have done? SAS flight crew should have informed us that they would hold our connecting flight until we could get to the gate, then they should have asked the other passengers to allow those with connecting to disembark first. A SAS agent should have been assisting us in getting through passport control. Can you imagine what we thought when we saw 200+ fellow passengers in front of us at passport control? What about your bags? Naturally, as expected our bags did not make the connection. So beside waiting until all the bags were unloaded, we then had to stand in line to file a lost baggage claim. I was able to track the bag via email, but we did not receive the bag the next day. On the morning of the second day, I decided to take the tram to the airport to search for our bags. Lo and behold, as soon as I walked into baggage claim I spotted the bags on the side. There was no additional tags to indicate where and when it was to be delivered. I firmly believe that if I personally did not go to the airport to get my bags, it would have sat there for another day or two. We will avoid flying SAS in the future. PRICE: 5-Stars. CHEAP AF. We bought three tickets (one for me, the hubby and our toddler) from LAX to Milan with a 24-hour layover in Stockholm (which we turned into a mini-vaca), three months before our departure. The price was right, so why not? CABIN/ FOOD: 4-stars. The seats were great, the cabin was clean and the food was not bad. On the spectrum of great vs horrific airplane meals, SAS falls right in the middle. It wasn't Cathay Pacific terrific but it also wasn't sad domestic carrier food. We were offered a full meal and one snack right before landing, which is customary on most trans-Atlantic flights. (I was initially worried they would starve us because we were apparently "Go" aka "bottom barrel discount rate" customers, but they didn't. yay). ARLANDA TSA: 1- Star. Was ANNOYING. SO ANNOYING. True story: We bought a jar of artisanal honey as a gift but because it was considered a "liquid" (even though it solidified into a jar of wax due to frigid winter temperatures), we were advised to either leave the honey or check it in. Well, we couldn't check it in because we'd max'd out of check-in luggage between bags, stroller and car seat. So I had to throw away the honey (I hella wasn't going to give it them!). Upon our second try through TSA, they stopped me because my laptop was in my giganta-purse. They had no issue with this the first time -- but this time they did. Our plane was leaving in 25 minutes so I just let them take my mega purse and laptop. After it had passed through, I grabbed my bag and ran to the terminal where my family was waiting. Of course once I boarded the plane, I pulled out my purse and to my horror, realized they must have placed the laptop IN A SEPARATE bin, which was still at TSA, because there was a gaping hole where the laptop should've been. I swear, it took every ounce in me not to puke into my purse. The laptop wasn't mine, it was my work laptop. And I wasn't about to pay over a 1K to replace it. ARLANDA LOST AND FOUND: 5-Stars. In no universe, or city (except Singapore) could you lose your laptop at an airport and still have it surrendered to lost-and-found. I called Hittegods the next day and lo-and behold, they had my device, safe and sound. Because of the Christmas holidays, we opted to get the laptop on our return, rather than to have it get lost or delayed with a transEuropean courier. SAS LOST LUGGAGE: 2-Stars. We arrived in Milan from Stockholm, but SAS left our kid's car seat back in Arlanda. UGH. We had to rent a car seat along with the car rental because well, we didn't have a choice. It was a 1.5 hour drive from Milan to my husband's hometown and we weren't about to get pulled over by the carabinieri because our toddler turned the back seat into a party bus. The good news was our car seat arrived the next day and SAS had it couriered to us in Val d'Aosta at no extra charge. But it was still pointless because we then had two car seats. lol. OVERALL: 3-Stars. 5 + 4 + 1 + 5 + 2 = 17 / 5 = 3.4 Hence 3-stars. read more

They lost my bag, didn't provide me a case number, told me the bag was on its way but never emailed or called and of course the bag never showed up. I've called the office 10 times and left 2 messages and they won't answer or call back. 0 communication. Comfortable flight, TERRIBLE customer service. read more

The crowd, for the most part, was not too bad. In fact, only one old salt on my row had some attitude, but that was put down fast. The arrival at Miami airport was on time, and baggage claim took a reasonable amount of time. Looking back, I would not rule out flying on Spirit if I had to. The experience was decent.

I called American Airlines to speak to a representative, and Flora was extremely unhelpful in suggesting flights which were about the same in air time at the same expensive price as a continuous 2 hour flight. I offered to let it go if they would just provide us with a meal since the flight had become horrendously long, but she kept insisting that she would absolutely not compensate us anything. To make matters even worse, she told me my only options were to just accept it or get a refund, and that I only have 24 hours from the time of my phone call before the refund offer would be rescinded. Absolutely unbelievable service. This will be my first and last time flying with them, and if I can find a similar or better flight within the next 24 hours, I will definitely be getting that refund.

A few passengers were loud and inconsiderate, while some lavatories required additional attention after several hours in the air. Although ITA Airways provided excellent customer-focused service, convenient route options, and professional cabin crews, the inconsistent customer support, disappointing seat comfort, and minor cleanliness concerns overshadowed some of the positives. Would I fly ITA Airways again? Yes, particularly for travel along the West Coast and across North America. Instead of rushing me through, he took real care in helping us, rebooked us for the next day, and made sure we were okay. What stood out most was that the following day he personally assisted me again to ensure everything went smoothly. That level of attentiveness and empathy meant more than he probably knows.
