Great margaritas at this neighborhood bar. They have a darker and more relaxed atmosphere, but the energy is always high and people are always friendly here since this is a true bar. It's actually a great sports bar too since they always have the 49ers or Warriors on. They have a couple TVs, so it's a nice place to catch a game when you don't want to watch at home. Came here on a Sunday of a long three day weekend with a party of two. We were wanting to grab a drink to pass the time as we waited for our table at Burma Superstar to be ready. Originally we were trying to grab a drink at the place nextdoor but they were having a comedy show that required tickets and the owners recommended we check out Scarlet Lounge...and so glad we did! My boyfriend and I got two dirty vodka martinis ($10 each). They were tasty! Bartenders and staff were super friendly. And the vibes and ambiance were great. Will definitely be back if we are in the area. read more

What a terrific little bar on Clement Street. If you are looking for a low-key spot that draws a good mix of locals and offers the opportunity for some good craft cocktails, this would be a spot to bookmark. Since leaving Downtown for "Avenue Life", the Inner Richmond has become "Going into Town". It's a simpler time, I guess. So, off to Clement Street to shop, browse, hit the Farmer's Market or grab a bite to eat. This is a bar for all seasons. This hits all the boxes for me. Casual but Classy. Intimate but not claustrophobic. Nice Cocktails but no pretension. Open by 12pm on Saturday and 10am on Sunday, and not full of derelicts. Oh yeah... And they have a solid Tap List and serve a BACON Bloody Mary. It's not rock your world as Bloody's go, but the addition of Bacon gives it a 4-star floor. I've met great patrons with a lot of SF history. I've had great conversations with the Bartenders, repeatedly. And, I'd comfortably walk in anytime. read more

My group of three was actually headed to another bar, but got side tracked when we saw Scarlet Lounge. We decided to check it out on Friday, May 26th around 7:45pm. It wasn't really busy, so we managed to find a table past the bar to the left against the wall. We started out with a Gin & Tonic, Fort Point Westfalia, and a Jameson on the rocks. If you know me, I got the Jameson on the rocks. Another friend joined us a little bit later and we got another round: Gin & Tonic, Jameson on the rocks, Red Seal and I think an Absolut Citron on the rocks? (I just know it was some kind of flavored vodka.) I paid for this round, so with tip, the total ended up being $39. (Not sure what each drink cost as I didn't get an itemized receipt.) The lounge is dark and red, hence the name. I don't know how long Scarlet Lounge has been around, but it has a pretty new feel. Feels like the tables, chairs, booths, etc, are all new. It has a sexy vibe due to all the red, but it's also very low key. In my older age, I prefer more laid back bars as I hate dealing with crowded places. Had a good time exploring a new spot. If in the neighborhood, this would definitely be in my bar rotation. read more

Really amazing Moscow Mules on deck here! Such a mellow and fun vibe here with some good locals.

I felt that this Bar had some redeeming qualities but also some things to work on. It felt pretty dark and dreary in there, I think the ambience could be better for sure. The drinks were just ok. Plus side is that they have some games to play but would be nice if they had a few more. The shot size were very generous which was good and they didn't skimp on the alcohol. The bartender was friendly. I don't know if I would be back but if I lived in the area I could see this being a go to bar. read more

Love this place! When the Side Bar closed I was crushed since it was my favorite neighborhood bar. When the Scarlet Lounge opened on its ashes, I was sllightly apprehensive for the owners not to mess up something good. Fear not. Great remodel without being pretentious, still maintaining a great cozy feeling. The mixology is on the up and up and it won't drain your wallet quite like the rest of San Francisco. The folks behind the counter are friendly and accomodating, an the crowd is the neighborhood. If you live around here you know you can stop by after dinner, or after watching performers at the Neck of the Wood net door. If you're visiting, a stop here i definitely worth it. read more

Scarlet lounge is the best combo of being a chill bar while also making delicious cocktails. The bartenders are always lovely, but also know how to keep the crowds in check. If you don't know what you want to order, you may have to wait until you figure it out. I love the fabulous $11 cocktails, I love the $10 shot/beer combos, I love the 3 for $15 mimosas on the weekend. This place needs more patrons! It was my favorite stop along the bar crawl that my friends and I did after brunch one Sunday. It's a new bar, clean and unscathed, which means there are adventures to be had here. I love everything about Scarlet Lounge. There are booths throughout this spacious bar, which is perfect for the board games they offer. There are many tasty-sounding cocktails and a good selection of drafts. (We opted for beers.) And the few customers that did know about this bar were super friendly, in addition to the bartender. Definitely not a divey spot, but it still feels casual. I'm sure this place will become crowded as more people discover it, so I hope I'm able to come back a few more times before it becomes way too popular. For those looking to kill time before going to Burma Superstar - this is your place. Also if you live in the Richmond and looking for a solid bar, but that's secondary. As it was the 4th of July weekend and my friend had a rare free Saturday, we figured this would be a day to hit up Burma Superstar. Unfortunately, even on holiday weekends BS is packed. While I had walked past another bar, my friend was already at Scarlett so we got it up. It's a relatively new sports bar that had been open for a few months - beautiful bar in the front, some tables in the sides and back, some TVs. What we were really happy about was the $5.50 Happy Hour cocktails. When you have an hour to kill, might as well get your money's worth. I enjoyed my two whisky and cokes. The bartender was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the rest of the clientele were also nice. Hope this place does well. read more

I was born and raised in San Francisco - the Richmond District to be exact - so I've seen this bar evolve throughout the years. Now that I'm older, I truly appreciate the calm, laidback atmosphere of dive bars. Scarlet Lounge is a hidden gem on Clement Street. The drinks are reasonably priced, and there's plenty of comfortable seating for small groups. It has never been overly busy anytime I've gone in here, but that's just how I like it - room to move, and the ability to hear each other talk. Scarlet Lounge is a decent place to hang up your boots and chill. The bartenders are friendly and work quickly. Drinks aren't entirely expensive, and they take card. You can talk, shoot pool, or just hang out in this little place. It's not the cleanest or most modern lounge you'll find, but it does the trick with a stiff drink. read more

We had dinner nearby on a Friday night and decided to check out Scarlet Lounge for some drinks afterwards. This place is right next to Neck of the Woods which has performers on some nights so the music was blaring next door. Unfortunately it drowns out the music in Scarlet Lounge... but that's ok it didn't bother us. We tried a few of their house cocktails which were good. However, I did not like the Scarlet 75 - gin/lemon/pomegranate champagne, it was too tart/sour for my taste. Overall very chill bar, a bit dead for a Friday, but I can't complain. Two friends and I wandered in here while waiting for a dinner reservation last night. If I still lived in the Richmond, this would be my Cheers. It's the quintessential bar - a mixture of a lush lounge, a clean dive and a friendly tav. I would guess most of the other patrons were regulars - but we were immediately treated like friends. The bartender made a stellar Cosmo (shaken so hard that it had little shards of ice). There was a big sweet black dog chilling with his guy... A perfect experience. read more
