I wish I could do a zero star review on this place. Today is Mother's Day, I haven't talked to my mom in Peru for a long time. I just called her to greet her a happy Mother's Day on video call and this lady from the bar asked me to step out And not to be on a video call because I was speaking in Spanish. I told her that I haven't talked to my mom for a long time and she told me abruptly that she does not care. What kind of business is this where literally she told me to get out. Is this how you treat your customers? Does she have a mom? I spent over $50 i at the bar and this is how I get treated. I will never go back in this location, she doesn't know that I have over 2 million followers and I will make sure that everybody knows about this establishment. My favorite bar in SF! I come here nearly every year on my birthday to celebrate another trip around the sun. I know that by removing the pool and foosball table from the lower level helped free up some space inside, but I miss playing a round. They have the friendliest bartenders in the city. They also make great dive bar cocktails (martinis and margaritas) along with having an epic beer (and shot) menu! This happened last week. I come here every so often and I had a really unfortunate experience with the door guy. I don't see him too much, but he was there and hit on me the second we arrived! I felt sexually harrased the way he hit on me. Aggressive and gross. I obviously rejected him (I'm just trying to have a drink and vibe out with my girlfriends) and when I did he became extremely rude and unprofessional. He was dead in the eyes and it scared me. He was on his phone the whole time, had no smile or anything as I was watching him from afar. I felt uncomfortable the whole time we were there and shortly left. The normal door guy (big friendly ginger haired man) does a much better job and makes people feel welcome. Please do not have this other door guy come back (tall skinny salt and pepper hair) if you want your customers to feel welcomed. Really cool ambiance, the decor and the space itself is really fun. It can get a little crowded at night as they don't have a lot of seating, so you may be standing around. Drinks are ok. A cool spot from another era! We stopped into The Page for a warm-up before catching a show at the nearby Independent. It was understandably busy on a Friday night around 8 pm but we still managed to find a spot to lean (and eventually sit!) with our cocktails to chat and take in the very cool surroundings. Our whiskey gingers were simple and very well made, and it was fun to hear a cool mix of background music while standing in a classy dive bar that had the vibe of, say, your cool uncle's rec room. As my friend noted, so many bars are modern and polished, but this place probably looks exactly like it did decades ago. Not everything needs to evolve with the times, it can be lovely to pop into places like this - a dark dank lovely escape. Definitely visit before a show, or just when you want to visit a welcoming neighborhood bar. You'll be glad you did. read more

It's a crowded but comfortable place so long as you find a place to sit down. Fortunately, there's a downstairs area with additional seating. The room design harks back to an earlier time, reminiscent of the post WW II era for some reason, or so it appears. I have been going to the page regularly since I moved to SF. I literally went to the page the first day I moved to the city. It has a dive bar feel, but is ultimately a grunge y cocktail bar with fun decor. It is cash only, but it's outdoor service does take card. The perfect neighborhood bar. Serving the folks in the Lower Haight or those in the area, featuring a large outdoor seating area, a long bar in the main room, and even a down a few stairs area for more private conversations. I had grabbed lunch from Berliner Berliner and ate it in Duboce Park, went up to Comix Experience and was just waiting to kill time and figured The Page was a good spot. It was definitely a popular choice as a few people walked in before me and immediately after me. Above the bar are lists of beers on tap, wines in can, and some combo specials, but as you can see the bar they have a great selection of options. I decided to get a Madre Mezcal on the rocks, which the bartender had to look up the price, but not bad for $9. This spot is cash only, so make sure you've pulled some out a head of time. And while I was waiting, I got to chat with the doorman about Coltrane, and he seemed to be pretty social with a lot of regulars coming in. After grabbing my drink, I picked up one of the round tables across from the bar and just relaxed a bit. Before I left, around 4:30, a second bartender appeared, which absolutely helped the still flowing crowds to this spot. Dive bar meets cabin meets cheap drinks... I am not normally a dive bar person but The Page is turning into a neighborhood go-to for me! There is never a cover fee (as it should be). There is always a great selection of beer and wine from $6-8 which is a great price for SF! Just make sure you bring cash. The Page tends to get pretty crowded at night. This makes the spots coveted, but once you get one you can sit back and enjoy the popping ambiance. The crowd skews younger but in my opinion that makes for good people watching (eavesdropping as single meet-cute or friends become more than friends... I know I'm not the only one who does this!!). Check The Page out next time you're in the neighborhood at night! Wouldn't necessarily recommend for daytime though unless you are a drinker. read more

Been coming to the page for almost a decade now. They are one of the best dive bars in San Francisco. Similar vibes to Toronado and Zeitgeist, and you'll definitely find some of the same regulars here. They serve great beer like Pliny the Elder from Russian River. They always get Pliny the Younger every annual release. They invested a bunch of money into their outdoor parklet during the pandemic. It's one of the best I've seen from a bar. To top it off they also have a full bar and have some wonderful bar staff. You can order from your table outside using a QR code. The vibes on the inside are like a dark lit cabin with red hue being the classic experience. The page will always be in my regular rotation and brings back a ton of memories. read more

I've lived in the neighborhood for about two decades but never gone to the Page much until covid19 hit At that time they created the most amazing outdoor space were I felt comfortable sitting with close family or a few colleagues to enjoy some Mexican food and drinks. Drink was priced well. Made like a club drink. Heavy on the liqour for my margarita and my friend got something else he said was mid. We were coming to sit down and they asked for our ID so we walked home to get them only for the purpose of sitting down and watching the live music. We arrived and ordered, got our drinks, and were vibing with the tunes. Then a staff manager comes out of nowhere and demands the live music whisper... at 7pm... I am from New York and I've never heard anyone tell anyone to stop playing their music.
