We've had issues with boarding facilities in the past (check my reviews if interested) which left us hesitant to booking, especially considering the expense that comes with larger breed considerations. However, not only does TCC have better care, facilities, and customer service; they are also easier on the checkbook. Teddy definitely has a home away from home in TCC, and even though our new move puts us another 15 minutes out, we wouldn't go anywhere else!

I had left instructions of how much to feed her, vet name and number, emergency vet number, etc. , etc. And this is after Devin came into my apartment and I had gone over everything with her! Devin texted me, took pictures and gave me a detailed description of how Mia was doing when I was gone. She cleaned her kitty litter, tried to play with her and even gave her treats! Mia hid from her but by the second day she actually came out of her hiding place. When Devin texted me that, it made me so happy! I did not worry at all about how Mia was doing by being alone because I knew that she was in good hands. I really enjoyed myself without having to be stressed out! It was so wonderful. I will definitely be using them again!

In fact his love for daily visits to the dog park are why we prefer boarding him over having someone watch him at our home. Club Fetch had the notes from the other facility and chose to give our boy a chance. They sent daily report cards evaluating his behavior with photos and took excellent care of our dog. When I picked him up they said that he was an angel and was welcome to stay there anytime. Club Fetch gives us great peace of mind. We are so thankful to have a safe and loving place to care for our dog when we have to be away.

They then proceeded to look at my records for my pet and stated "You need every single distemper shot in the series to be seen. NC state law." Upon a simple google search, the only shot required by law is the rabies shot (which my dog has). I was refused grooming for no reason by an ill informed staff team. Not to mention the lack of customer service by not having a booking system that works and lack of basic phone etiquette.

We just finished a four-week board and train with Carson at The Dog Knowledge. Worth every penny!…read more Not going to lie - the first couple weeks were rough on us, not him. We missed him like crazy and worried about how he was feeling. Dennis actually had us come in halfway through, showed us what Carson had been learning, and said something that I keep thinking about: Carson wasn't missing us. Not because he doesn't love us, but because dogs live in the now. He was busy, focused, doing his thing. We felt so much better after that. Carson came home happy and calm and confident. He understood the rules and felt good about it. And he wasn't (as our son put it) a "bot" now - he was the same sweet and goofy pup but now, he could follow instructions and maintain self control when we needed him to. The staff were also straight with us about the fact that he'd have setbacks. That's normal. They spent a lot of time explaining what you do when it happens. In fact, they spent almost an entire day with all the families at graduation - going over what the dogs learned, getting you hands on practicing how to do it, answering questions, and really teaching a ton of helpful information. We're about to set up our in-home training visit, which will be for all of us, including our three kids - really great to get everyone aligned with Carson's training. The Dog Knowledge is fantastic! We are members now and plan to board our dog with them whenever we go on vacation. I cannot imagine trusting any place like we trust them.

This is strike 2 and I feared the risk of waiting until strike 3 to never return. I dropped my 2…read moredogs off for doggy daycare. When I picked them up after work, they were brought into the lobby smelling of urine. They left wet paw prints on the floor. When I got them into the car, the urine smell was overwhelming. I went back in and asked the woman at the front desk why the dogs reeked of urine. She actually asked, "what do you want me to do about it?". I replied maybe return the dogs in the same condition as when they were dropped off. She said maybe they rolled in it outside. Rolled in urine? Um, ok. Thank God I have a dog cover over the back seat of the car. It was soaked. Their collars and leashes were wet and reeked as well. I had the enjoyment of running everything through the wash and giving the dogs 3 rounds of bathing each to get the smell out of their fur. They were obviously kept in their kennels without being let out to relieve themselves. Both dogs are housebroken and well behaved. Not a way I want to spend my evening after working all day. Not to mention that doggie daycare is not cheap. The first strike was when I came to pick them up and while I was waiting for them to come out, a very large aggressive dog named "Tarzan" came in with his owner and the owner had no control over him. The female front desk staff wouldn't take him back to his kennel. They had to call a male to the front that could handle him. My dogs had to be kept behind glass doors until it was safe for them to come out. That's a huge liability on Pet Palace if that dog hurts another person or dog. Ever heard of making the owner call when he's in the parking lot to make sure the lobby is clear?

The facility itself is large and well-maintained. The front desk wasn't especially warm, but…read morecheck-in was quick and it was early (8:30am). When I booked the appointment, I made sure to mention that he's an older, asthmatic cat. I would have expected that information to prompt a few more questions -- about his temperament, how he handles, whether sedation might be needed -- so the visit could be planned accordingly. Instead, it seems like this only came up as a problem once we were already there. Two male vet techs took my large, senior, asthmatic cat back for his exam. They were friendly, asked good questions, and seemed genuinely interested in understanding my cat before taking him for vaccines and bloodwork. About 10-15 minutes later, they returned with Dr. Foreman. She walked in without introducing herself or asking who I was, and opened with, "What a grumpy cat." She then told me they'd given the vaccines but couldn't draw blood, clip his nails, or do anything else I'd requested, and suggested sedating him for a follow-up visit. I was caught off guard -- my cat has had blood drawn and nails clipped at previous vets without issue. She explained he was breathing hard and being aggressive, and that she was concerned for her staff's safety and his. That's a reasonable concern on its own. What wasn't reasonable was that she never came to discuss it with me directly or explore alternatives before deciding the appointment was over. I explained that I don't drive and had relied on a friend to bring us in, and that getting a large, older cat into a carrier isn't simple. Her response: "Well, at least he's legal now" -- referring to the state-mandated vaccine. No acknowledgment of the situation, no empathy. When I said the bloodwork was the most important part of the visit given his age, she said, "I could have just done something and then be coming back here to tell you he's dead." I called out how hostile that comment was, and her tone only became more dismissive from there. This was, by a wide margin, the most unprofessional interaction I've had with a veterinarian. I won't be returning, and I'd urge anyone considering this clinic to ask specifically who they'll be seeing and stay clear of Dr. Foreman.
