Before they respond that he tried to bite them, I told them my dog has sensitive paws and he will try to bite. The first visit was okay, but I wasn't pleased with everything as they were rushing me out the door. But I decided to give them another try - to my dismay. I was under an impression that this is a business that deals with pets and knows how to handle difficult pets - I was wrong. They only care about making money; this place is a cold assembly line for pets and getting the membership dollars in. Five minutes later, I took him to another groomer, and he didn't have any issues there. I fully believe they handled him rough and couldn't be bothered to do the job. My dog was hurt twice during grooming, first time, they hurt his paw, and got his joint swollen and infection. After several calls the manager Erika denied it . Second time I took him ( last time before I had canceled membership), just for bath and trim, and said NOT to cut his nails , cause I didn't trust them doing it, and reminded them to be careful with his paws. After I had picked him up after 3 hrs, which he also was not finished groomed,and as soon as I'm driving back home, I've noticed he was bleeding from his paw. It was my first time there , I have a tea cup yorkshire and just to give you a hands up they don't blow dry and brush the dog unless you pay extra for that, she came out shaking, wet, and cold and they told me if i wanted them to dry and brush i would have to pay an extra fee but it was 35 dollars already without the fee and the fee was 18 dollars for them to dry and brush her. I guess what is the point to take your dog to a pet shop for bath if they can't provide a complete job for a fair price? The Boynton Beach location of Scenthound is great. The staff is great and they do a good job. They pay attention to customers requests and note them. For example I liked to have my dog extra rinsed (he holds a lot of soap & water) and I don't like the coat spray. Well I forgot to tell them one time at check in and they saw it in the notes from prior visits so they followed those instructions - exactly what i wanted. Alyssa (manager sorry if I got the name wrong) is fantastic as are all the staff members. I suggest you bring a towel when you pick up, the dogs are never dry enough unless you get a blowdry. There is a clear difference between dealing with the local store and staff (Awesome) and dealing with Corporate (Terrible). The problem I have is with Corporate and the Corporate policy of charging an extra month when you cancel the membership and then their added policy (or Camry's policy) of threatening customers to remove bad reviews (they will be forced to defend themselves). Heads-up the reviews you see have been altered as their corp policy is to buy good reviews and squash bad reviews. It would have been a better experience for the customer to be able to deal with their local store (and the staff they know) when canceling membership. Dealing with Corporate was cold, impersonal and quite frankly insulting. So much so the area manager issued me a refund of my 3 unused services if I would revise this review - for the record I still had to pay the additional month for canceling. read more

I absolutely love everything about Scenthound! Having 2 dogs, it has been much easier keeping them clean with the monthly plan that is offered. We typically get the full groom once a month for our english golden, and he is on a twice/week BENT schedule. They let us bring our own zymox shampoo/conditioner, so we don't have to worry about the upgrade fee. The entire family has noticed a huge difference in his skin and overall appearance since we started using Scenthound. The dogs absolutely love the staff. When we get the BENT (Bath, Ears, Nails, Teeth) we typically wait in the lobby since it only takes about 20-30 min. When we schedule a full groom - it takes about 3 hours. As a member, we save hugely on a full groom compared to other groomers. I am so thankful for this establishment and love the idea! read more

This place deserves zero stars. I had called as a first time customer and had requested a full groom for my very small 10 pound dog. The lady said she had an opening and scheduled me for a "full groom." I went there filled out all the paperwork, the customer service was horrendous. There's not a friendly face in that place. I confirmed that he was there for a full groom and she said yes see you in a few hours. They called me 30 minutes later to say that he was ready. He was not cut at all they just scheduled him for the bath services. I paid $60 for him to get a bath! Something I could have done at home for free. I am absolutely disgusted at the customer service. I called corporate, left a voicemail with my information explaining the situation so I am still waiting to hear back from them. I will post a review on what corporate tells me back. But at the very least I am asking for my $60 back as the services rendered or not what were promised. So unless you like being lied to or ripped off because this place is literally one big rip off do not take your pets here. It would've cost me over $100 for my 10 pound dog barely has any hair to get groomed. And his face is still wet even though I paid for a blow dry. UPDATE: I have called several times as it has been about two weeks since everything has happened, they never returned my phone call nor left me a voice message to improve this situation. I will continue to call them until someone calls me back. But I am thoroughly disappointed and since then I've spoken to two of my neighbors and they all have horrible things to say about scent hound as well. UPDATE: Returned their call and said they would do a full groom. But no. I am NOT leaving my pet there with those groomers who know that they do a lousy job. So overpriced. Never ever ever! Ha. Please save your money and maintain your peace. They will charge you almost $40 for the same bath you could give your dog in your bathtub. Took my dog in and he came out smelling like they used no shampoo and shedding all over the place. They also offer you their membership before you see your dog. I signed up thinking that the service at the front would resemble the service given to my dog. After seeing my dog, I knew I would not be coming back. When you sign their membership contract they do not let you read it, they say " Basically this page means that" and hand you the Ipad to sign. I called a few days after my dog was groomed because he looked like had not been groomed in a month. Once I asked to have my membership cancelled, they stated that I would still be charged for the next 30 day cycle " like stated in the contract you signed", the one they do not let you read...... . I asked to be sent the contract I signed and they hung up on me, my husband had to go in person to get it. They also gave him trouble to give him everything I signed. Save yourself the trouble, you can 100% give your dog better service than these wannabe 'high end groomers'. read more
