Maytag owner for 43 years and it went out. I bought a whirlpool dryer in Jan. It started to show wear, paint wearing off and taking three load cycles to dry. I called, and customer service said,"that it was a manufacturing problem and not a customer service problem. "They did come out, said that the dryer duct needed cleaning and to use a de-creaser because I had a Chapstick falling out of my pocket." NO one leaves things in their pockets or uses Chapstick. It's been seven months, and it looks even worse than when I first had it and will continue to go downhill. I did get the dryer duct cleaned out, and it still takes two cycles to dry. The worst place for customer service. I'm calling the BBB again. I will never shop there ever. read more

We had an installation problem that they wouldn't cover and I see by the reviews below, it's not uncommon. 10-23-25 I just received a phone call from Schaefer's. We've both learned something from this situation and they are covering my repair bill. I'm glad that they called, I love their sales staff and I will keep using their store. Had a sales person assist me with some refrigerator questions, all went well but also had a installation question, said he had to ask his manager. I waited at least 15 to 20 minutes then went looking for him, oh he was helping a larger group of people, maybe thought he could make that sale and come back to me for a possible sale also. I waited a bit longer, went looking for him again, no where to be found. Could of sent some of the people sitting in that snotty circular command and control center they have going on there or the 2 guys just standing around by the exit, doing nothing, to just say hey he will be with you shortly but no. I left, WON'T be back ever. I can and did get better service at Home Depot, yup a place that hires college students part time. read more

Bought a refrigerator from them had it delivered. When I plugged it in the condenser fan was hitting something. Delivery guy immediately called his supervisor, the supervisor called Schaefers. Girl told him she would call me shortly, she never did. Called them no response. Opened the back tapped the fan housing and the rubbing stopped, luckily. That was the first and last time I buy anything from them. read more

Have had them come out 3 times to fix the same issue and was told that because we didn't buy the extended warranty they couldn't do anything. That they could charge us every time even if it was 7-8 times for the same issue. I was informed that they try their best. However won't make things right. read more

I am going to agree with the review that once they make a sale then your on your own. I bought a washer and dryer from Schaefers 3 months ago. The washer quit working this weekend and now i'm being told that they can get someone to work on the under warranty washer for a couple of weeks. Terrible service. Bad customer service.....I bought a bran new wash and dryer, a month later the washer stops working, so obviously covered under the warranty, they can't come look at for a week and a half, so I'm stuck with no washer until then. Beware of this stores extended warranty. We bought a washer and dryer there and the sales people pushed and pushed us to get an extended warranty which I never buy but they said if you don't use it you get the full price back as store credit. So I bought it and did not have to use it so when the warranty was up we went in and they said yes we have a credit of $190 for store credit no stipulations were mentioned. So way later we are ready to buy a large screen tv and decided to buy a mount first and was told at check out no credit was available. They said the credit was only good for 6 months which no salesman was willing to tell us with so much vigor as when they sold us the warranty. They just said read your paperwork that's why we give it to you. Yeah right everyone wants to read a 1000 word agreement, that's what they count on. Very disappointed to see a local store screwing you like a big box store. I never had these issues at NFM. This store is dead to me and hopefully to all my family and friends. For that $190 they lost a sale of a min of a 85 inch Tv. Like it says Caveat Emptor buyer be ware!!!!! read more

Do not shop here! Customer service is the worst I have experienced on many levels. I have a broken washer purchased from them less than a month old that they want to fix as opposed to replace. Laundromat costs due to down washer have exceeded $400.00 so far. read more

Schafer's again I am disappointed in you! I came in a year ago to purchase a tv! Bought a warranty and felt really good about the purchase until I was taking tv off wall to move into another area and cracked screen! Warranty does not cover! Of course! Screen replacement more than new TV-ugh! Purchased a new TV and told that they would check on transfer unused warranty! Mr Steve Kleinschmidt could not even remember that I had purchased tv from him and that he would be giving me a call on the status of request! No call so went in and Face to face didn't remember me less than a week later! Also I asked if I could recycle old worthless screen broken tv and he said yes to that at time of sale "no charge". When brought tv in management said no there would be a charge! They claim they have good customer service but isn't that the first time they have failed me! The personnel of Schaefer's took the time to help explain the procedures and schedule visits. I just had my new Kitchen Aid refrigerator ice machine repaired by Schaefer's, and they did a great job! They replaced the ice machine completely, and it now works great. Matt was the service person, and he was very good, and very friendly. He also called when he was on his way. I am so glad all my kitchen appliances came from Schaefer's, because getting someone from NFM, is a real pain. read more

I hate to do this again, but we did just purchase our appliances, just a month ago from Schaeffer's and now the "Brand New", and not an expensive appliance has a leaking ice maker. We had to shut off the water supply over a week ago, thus no filtered water either. We were told it would be at least a week before we could be put on the list and now are still waiting today for the repair man to show up. When I called the service department, their answer is, they will be there when they can. As this was a brand new unit, and their service department with repair calls is so backed up, I'm wondering why they are getting so many people needing repairs. Just wondering, but now am stuck with this local business and probably would suggest to you all out there, to stay away, and go to the "Mega Marts". read more

I am very disappointed with Schaefers. They damaged the side of our new refrigerator when installing it. Their attitude was, "oh well, it won't show." The dishwasher we bought from them died a few months after purchase. I called for a warranty repair. It took about three weeks to get someone in to look at it and determine the pump was out. Then about another two weeks for the part to be ordered and installed. Several months later, the dishwasher was leaking onto our wood flooring. Repair came more quickly for the leak. The pump was determined to be at fault. Now one year and four months since purchase, the warranty is out and the plastic hull of the dishwasher is busted and leaking floods. Guess what? Schaefers helpfully points out my only option is to buy a new dishwasher. Quality product? Good customer service? Doesn't seem like it to me. Buyer beware. read more

We bought a new Kitchen Aid stove a little over a year ago. One of the knobs broke on the inside for one of the front burners, of course the one I use the most. The inside is plastic, they don't even use the crap pot metal they used to use. After about 5 weeks they call and tell us it's in. So we have to drive down there to get a knob. They couldn't just have it mailed to us directly. My wife went to pick it up, and they have the wrong color. Who screwed that up is anyone's guess, but I know I told them white, and they ordered, or received, brushed nickel. Had I been the one picking it up I would have taken that one, and let them call me when the other one is in, and bring it back and trade them. They told me the company wouldn't take back used items. How is Kitchen Aid, which in reality is one of many companies owned by probably Whirlpool, who manufacture the same pathetic junk, going to know I used that knob? So now we get to wait for another 5 weeks, while I get to use the back burner on the stove. Oh, and thanks for your crap customer service too. If it was my store, that woman would be job hunting, and the customer would have the wrong color knob until the other one came in. And I would over-night the knob to said customer so they wouldn't have to drive down there AGAIN. Idiots. read more
