I sent this pair in for repair and I got it back 3 weeks later. No repairs were made.

Save yourself from reading the rest of reviews and avoid this place! I really like to support local stores, however this is one place I will be avoiding. Robert and his staff are very unprofessional and incompetent. They have one simple job of fixing jeans and cannot even do that correctly. The owner, Robert is totally disrespectful and talks condescendingly towards his customers. The pair of jeans was sent back to me unaltered and with the seam still ripped, after paying $100! Overall, this shop has a horrible customer service, a long turn around time (~ 3 weeks), and the staff here are incompetent, save yourself some money and time and take your jeans elsewhere.

First of all, I gotta thank the owner. I was running late and stuck in your typical LA traffic while the President was in town and so I got to the store after it closed. I called about 15 minutes before closing and let him know that I was going to be there shortly and asked him if he could. Please wait for me. he told me no problem, take my time and that he would be there and he was. Probably the best part about the experience was just the conversation and getting to talk with the owner. One of the coolest and most respectful guys I've ever met. Now let's get to the good part. I've spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on designer clothing and jeans and I have to tell you that I've never had denim of this quality. I've never had such a great fit with such a quality denim in my life. I've literally wore a pair of his jeans every day since I got them. You definitely get what you pay for. And the quality is beyond anything you've ever seen. The experience as a whole was amazing. I wasn't rushed, even though the store was closed, and Robert took his time to explain the fits and denims. I couldn't give higher marks. Thank you so much for the experience and the quality goods. You definitely have a lifelong customer here.

tl;dr: the staff is friendly enough, the alteration was mediocre and the wait was long (though I knew that going in) So I dropped a pair of selvedge jeans off in early March, hoping to have them altered. I needed both a hemming and also wanted to have them re-tapered through the knee. After a little dialogue with the guy that was there, we agreed on a 6 and 3/4 inch taper. I was told that the wait was ~5 weeks and was okay with that. Got a phone call letting me know they were ready for me to pick up after ~4.5 weeks. Great! Got the pants home, tried them on; they fit! I've worn them for about a week now (~4 wears, they're new denim so I'm trying to break them in) and I noticed yesterday that the chainstitch hem has already come loose. This made me a little curious about the rest of the details, so I got my trusty tape measure out and it turns out they tapered them a lot closer to 7 inches than 6.75. Normally I wouldn't make a big deal about it, but I suggested to the guy doing the measurements that we taper to 6.5 and he convinced me to go with 6.75, so the fact that they both suggested a quarter inch difference and then failed to deliver on it is a little bothersome. I also took a look at where the taper begins and it's really more accurate to call it a taper through the calf because where the new thread and old thread meet up is a solid 4-5 inches below my knee. So all of that being said, I'm not exactly tearing my hair out about the whole thing, it was around $50 to have the work done, but probably wouldn't go back to have any other jeans altered.

Their prices are quite reasonable. Many items are up to 80% off what you would pay for great clothes and bags. They also have some nice art now and again it is all fairly priced. This is not a Salvation Army type store, yes, all items are used, but all are designer or something you may have seen in a store. They do not have a huge vintage section and that is fine. It has just really nice things that I would end up paying a lot more for new. The service is great. The staff is nice and knows what is in the store and where. If you are looking for a nice bag, they have it or some nice clothes. I have bought a few things there and I have never been disappointed.

They took my phone number and said they would call when they found the match. I gave them my number and about a week later, they called and had found the match. I returned and bought it. Yesterday, we went there and bought a few things. Super cute stuff and fun to shop. My daughter found new Stan Smith Adidas. They couldn't sell them because they lost the key to unlock the block thing that the alarm goes off if cut. Again, I gave my number and today, they called and found the key. Went back and got the adidas.

Raggedy Threads is my favorite vintage store in L.A. - no contest. Don't let this tiny little store…read more- located in a tiny little corner of Little Tokyo - fool you: It's like a treasure trove of rare finds. I've been on a huge vintage kick lately, so this store has been my go-to source for old tees. My reasons for going vintage are primarily environmental since the carbon footprint and resources needed to make new clothes are substantial - and incredibly wasteful when there's so much awesome used clothing out there. Another reason: Your friends can't copy your style. Most recently, I picked up a few tees from the 1970s and 80s. Being in L.A. they get a lot of local and California vintage shirts with logos, designs, and jokes that only true Californians would get. I couldn't resist buying a Castroville "Giant Artichoke" tee they had over the summer. Personally, I tend to gravitate towards regional finds like these because they bring back such great memories of my youth and of family road trips up and down my home state. They also carry old college (Go Bears!), high school, and everyone's favorite - summer camp tees. Plus, you cannot beat the vintage fit from the 70s/80s. Caveat: Today's "S" is equivalent to an "M" or bigger because people were presumably thinner back then. So do your part for the environment and look effortlessly stylish doing it by shopping used and vintage! And there's no better place in L.A. for this than Raggedy Threads.
