This is an excellent place to live if you have a dog because there are so many walking paths, as well as a dog park with a catch-and-release pond. Trees on each lot make it nice with the lots clearly delineated. My only real frustration is that there is no handicap access into the pool. read more

Great campsite and affordable rate. The pool is always super clean, they have a gym, a kids playroom, and a nice rec room. Highly recommend!

This park is NOT family friendly and they are too new to have policies in place that protect their tenants. They are only interested in serving their own needs and the needs of those they employ who live there. They allowed predators to stay and drug users and evicted a whole family over that drug users lies and now that person is also working for them! They did nothing but lie lie lie. Staff included. They wouldn't even attempt to address it with the person who'd accused me of the lies because they didn't actually care what the truth was so my family was uprooted and had to change everything about our lives (my children are 10 and 12) and move to the fastest available location. I was there for almost two years with autopay set up so I never missed a payment and I always did everything they asked. DO NOT GO HERE!! read more

Brand new park, so it's still a bit of a work in progress (primarily just needs the grass to grow a bit and the trees to mature). Quiet. Very convenient location. Relatively wide lots. Amenities are excellent. Staff is fantastic. Friendly and accommodating. Responsive to needs. Prices are higher than many other parks around. But it is nicer than other parks around. read more

Schlitiland Review - San Marcos, TX Writing this review was my last option, but I think it is important that I am able to vent. Writing reviews seems to be how things are brought to the owner's attention. Stays: June 2023, May 2024 - 30 days each The reason for my complaint is because of TWO internet outages during my stay and getting blacklisted from the park. I did complain, nothing threatening or yelling. After complaining the 2nd time, I was blacklisted from the park. I had called about another reservation. Rather than telling me or calling me they said nothing till I called back to make another reservation. Their complaint for blacklisting me from the park was my tone of rudeness. Under amenities INTERNET is the # 1 amenity. Yes, they will make you sign something I am sure that says the internet is no guarantee. During my stay in June 2023, I was in space # 1. There was hardly any internet service due to there was not a receiver pole in the area of spot # 1, 2, 3. The pole was down like around spot # 5. I asked them about it (different management), and they said, "oh well, we will get another pole when we can". It was suggested I take my phone or laptop closer to the pole when I needed to use it. Then I came back and stayed for 30 days in May of 2024. I was in spot#11 across from the restrooms. I had been there maybe a week, and this horrific storm came through and knocked out the internet receiver. I waited a few days and nothing on the internet came up. No correspondence from the park. I looked at the pole and there was a red-light blinking. I called the office (new management Apr 2024) and asked when it would be taken care of. Although they were professional their answer was "we have no idea", "maybe next week, maybe the week after". I absolutely insisted they call the vendor and ask him to come reset the system. They said they could not do that. Still no eta. So again @ 2 weeks without internet. I called Bea the new manager about me coming back to the park in the Spring of 2025. She said "sorry". I asked if the owner would call me. She said most likely not. She had made the decision based on a tone of rudeness to a coworker, and now she has to ask the owner if he will overrule? She said he lets her take care of those issues. I called back a week later and supposedly he never responded. I was there 60 days. I NEVER complained about anything. I do not like writing reviews and calling anyone out if I can help it LASTLY - I called back @ a week ago to see if we could compromise, and they had BLOCKED my phone. How I know is I called from another phone. DO NOT STAY HERE unless you are open for dealing with an immature management. Since the owner would not call me back to hear my side of the story I presume this park will not be here long. I was so embarrassed and humiliated over something so silly. I do not think I was treated fairly. I think they owe me an apology for the hassel I went thru with the internet and for blacklisting me from the park. MANAGEMENT - Unless you are open to letting me return to the park any comment you make will be mute. You can say anything you want. It will not make a difference how you treated me. read more

Such a beautiful RV resort park. The facilities are taken care of, clean and nice. Booking was a breeze and pricing great. Staff was professionaln friendly and helpful. I love that they have events for the kids. The kids loved the playground, pool and pavilion. Its centrally located so we were able to go to wonder world, the outlets, the river, take a drive to Austin to see the capital then San Antonio to see the river walk. Solo female traveler here. I wanted to like this place but there are so many issues that I can't. 1. I didn't feel safe here. Traveling alone I have a heightened sense of security. Some places give me the "creepies," and this was one of those places. On a dark back road and only about 5% of the sites were occupied. Creeped me out. 2. I checked in after the office closed and there was no information for me. Luckily they emailed me my site number so I just parked. 3. No one answers the after hours phone. I called multiple times and no one returns calls. 4. The dog park is about 80% retention pond. As in, an actual small lake filled with reclaimed water. Why would anyone let their dog play in a park to get muddy before returning to the RV? 5. There was dog feces all over the park. So much so that they sent out emails with empty threats to all guests. "Pick up your dogs poop or else..." 6. It is way too expensive for what it is. There are other new RV parks less that five miles away that are located on the actual river for $50-60 per night. This park is more than that (almost $80/night after taxes and fees) and I still don't know what all that money was for. Everything is mediocre at best. No comment about the bath houses as I did not use them. Overall, SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. These people are charging ridiculous prices for their lot but your money is better spent at any of the other parks in San Marcos. Or if you really want to spend $80 per night, drive 40 more minutes to Austin where there is much more to offer. (And safer-feeling if you're traveling alone like me) read more

Clean safe park to bring family I travel with my 3 kids an had no problems here definitely would come back

It's still bothers me! I asked for checkin at 1 was told it would cost $25 I was fine paying that however we didn't arrive till 1:45 she still charged me? There were probably 15 people on site all together I could understand if they had to get a spot ready for us however they did not. Not one of us used one of the amenities. read more

Been searching high and low for a park that we can keep our dogs with us, called and they said "absolutely no problem", then sent me the link to pay for a background check, once they payment went thru we then found out they lied about that policy and will not be letting us in the park but of course will not refund the money. We found this resort and we will definitely be back. Shelly the park manager is the best. She was very informative and enjoys her job. This is a brand new park and when the plants and trees mature, it will be even more wonderful. The shower and laundry facility is awesome and the club house area was a nice get away for my daughter to be able to relax and read. DEFINATLY going back. read more

The staff is incredibly rude and unprofessional towards its guests. I have seen them yelling at two guests on two separate occasions. The rules are never clear. The pamphlet given out at checkin has not been updated. They are constantly increasing the site rental rates and charging violations. read more

We recently stayed at Schatziland while in town for one last summer hoorah. Our plans changed last minute and it left me calling RV resorts for same-day stay. The lady I spoke to was extremely nice, helpful, and understanding. She knew we were traveling with small children and went above and beyond to accommodate us in the best ways, I.e. giving us a site with only one neighbor so our kids could run and play. As for the the park itself it is brand new so the trees have some growing to do and the grass is minimal, but within a few years this park will be beautiful. Schatziland offers a playground, volleyball courts, pickle ball courts, a swimming pool, a rec hall with a pool table and games, a dog park, and chargers for electric cars. The location is convenient, located directly behind the San Marcos outlet mall, 12 miles to Gruene, 14 miles to Schlitterbahn, and 8 miles to the San Marcos river. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will most certainly be back! read more
