I was first introduced to this magnificent super store when I was on a job while in Nebraska. When I'd seen this location was coming to our wonderful home state, my wife and I were excited. This is huge super store, big enough it has its own ferris wheel in the center! it's big! It has lots of windows which allow a lot of light inside which really makes this a better experience. This is a sports/clothing store on steroids, but the good ones! They carry so many different brands and they don't focus on one specific brand, which is nice. Unlike Bass Pro and Cabela's, they don't force their own brands on you and their focus isn't just on outdoor hunting and fishing. They do have those items, yet they offer biking, golf, water sports, all major ball sports, skiing, and lots of novelty items. They always have a clearance section in the clothing area that we instantly hit, many brand names on close out for way less than retail, we've found some great deals on North Face, Patagonia, Kuhl, Nike, Hurley, Adidas....the list is long. It's definitely worth the visit. The offer military and veteran discounts for those of us that fall under that classification. read more

If you are unfamiliar with Scheels, as so many are, it's basically a way superior version of Dick's sporting goods. It's purely a fantastic store. Though more are beginning to pop up, Scheels is still certainly an endangered breed (not of becoming extinct but just that they are more rare and harder to find than other stores haha) and they are primarily found in areas of ND, SD, MN, Iowa and Nebraska. Scheels is the best kept secret of the northern Midwest.. well, at least it was, though it's awesomeness is sadly beginning to be leaked, as there is now this Frisco location. And, as the saying goes with Texas, they made the largest and craziest Scheels yet, because Texas always does it bigger and better. It really is a treat to walk through this location. From the giant fish tank at the beginning, to taking a ride on the ferris wheel (that's inside the store, yep), to going all around to the various clothing, sports equipment, shoes, home deco sections and more. We drove all the way from SWFW! We heard Scheels was supposed to be amazing and it did not disappoint!! First and foremost...Masks aren't required!! It was such a happy environment. Some masks on, some masks off and everyone was cordial to each other!! So this place is AMAZING! Fish tanks!, taxidermy animals all over the place, an actual 2 story Ferris Wheel in the Lobby!! This place is SO HUGE! It's got everything! Although the boyfriend and I have only ridden the farris wheel and seen the fish,this place seems great! We went in looking at fishing stuff and then also somehow ended up in knives. I held and fell in love with a Balisong but couldn't justify the nearly $500 price tag. There was also a pink pocket knife I loved,but not sure $100 was the price just because it matched my aesthetic. The associate helping us was super nice,though! They even have a home and furniture shop! One of the main store attractions includes our indoor 65-foot Ferris wheel. From the top of the Ferris wheel, you'll be able to enjoy the view of all the different shops within SCHEELS. Each ride costs $1 per person. This 16,000 gallon aquarium is home to a variety of different saltwater fish, species, and coral reefs. The scuba divers spend time each week cleaning the aquarium and feeding the fish. They also gave interactive arcade games and sports simulators, or taste specialty treats, gourmet soups and sandwiches, homemade fudge and nuts and specialty coffees and more at Ginna's Café. You cannot really complain about the selection and value here, or at least I have never had reason too. That's the only reason for 3 stars. What I can take issue with is the service. It has always been fairly slow, but never to the level it was today. I came in to look at handguns and found two pre-owned that I liked. About $1,300 total in purchases I was about to make. After standing around for over 10 minutes waiting for someone to assist me, I saw a woman that was just walking around who apparently did not notice me. I asked for her help. She brings out the first firearm and I am inspecting it and I go to take it down and she barks at me to please to don't take that apart unless you are seriously considering buying it. I was absolutely taken aback. I don't know about most people but I would never purchase a pre-owned firearm without taking it down. It gives you insight into how much the firearm has been used and cared for. I have taken down every firearm I have ever bought from Scheels and never has anyone asked me to not take it apart unless I was seriously consider buying the firearm. Needless to say, I did not purchase the two handguns for over $1,300. I went to customer service to explain what happened and it was obvious she could not care less. I hate it because I do like Scheels, but they have seen the last dollar from me. I know they won't notice, but I refuse to spend my money at stores that are rude to customers. read more

This review is for Chris Damerit aka "the sock manager." I work in sales and customer service is our highest priority at Sewell. I will share my experience and things that stood out to me. At Sewell we practice a lot of what we call "Similar to and different than." This means know the difference between the brands without speaking bad about the other. Chris was super knowledgeable about running shoes. We tried out on clouds, brooks, and the new balance 1080. I'm addition Scheels has a treadmill in there shoe section to try out the shoes which is amazing! When trying on the pair of shoes my fiancé needed some socks and instead of brining a nylon sock as 90% shoes stores do, Chris opened a fresh pack of socks to try on with the shoes! That's 10/10 customer service. I had shared I had plantar fasciitis, and he educated us on the socks they have available. Long story short we ended up buying 3 pairs on shoes, and plenty of socks. He placed an online order for us without ever showing like we were wasting his time. He went to the back 5+ times. He was very smiley and passionate about everything he shared with us. THANK YOU CHRIS! I made sure to remember his name to give him this shout! My fiancé now understood why I go here often. read more

New sporting goods store in northern Dallas suburbs. I included a few shots of the front entrance, and some inside. At this time they are limiting the number of people through the front door. Where to start- just go in, this place has just about everything you need. The set up is like entering a sporting goods mall; with every sport covered. You are greeted with a large Ferris wheel when you walk in (closed due to CV19) You don't need it - there is plenty to keep the kids busy. Fun place and very knowledgeable staff, I made it through fishing and knives and had to move. They are keeping carts and bathrooms clean and sanitized. Lots more to see! will be back ! read more

This was our first time inside this establishment. The young man at the register was polite and friendly he spoke to Everyone that entered and acknowledged us once we were leaving. The reasons I'm giving three stars is because we passed two young ladies with the uniformed clothing on and they never even notice us as we walked by them. We'd never been into a Scheels even though I'd heard rave reviews about the Ferris Wheel they had inside with a plethora of other things like clothing, shoes, guns etc. I don't know, if this next generation feels as if they don't have to know how to interact with people or they just don't care. The store also welcomes leashed dogs, which you will likely see many of on the weekends. In-store activities include Ferris wheel rides, mini-bowling, arcade games and photo ops at the wildlife mountain and animatronic athletes. I recommend checking out SCHEELS during the weeknights or early on the weekends since the store can become quite crowded during peak hours. Also, if you walk out the exit opposite from the parking lot you'll be in the middle of Grandscape's Lifestyle Center. Then you see the Ferris Wheel in the middle of the store! Incredible! The line was crazy long. The bottom floor is all clothing with some other stuff thrown in. Like, for instance, a cafe. Might as well eat while your here. The second floor is sports EVERYTHING! I tell you, they've got it all! It took us an easy hour to walk through. And we enjoyed every minute. A truly great store! I do not know why everybody say so highly about this store! we went there on Sat to the bike department. We got there and was asking a customer service that was passing by to help us out, he seems not doing anything but he was trying to get out of it saying" I need to go upstairs go talk to the service depatment" , fine, the first impression RUDE. So not expecting anything else from this store, I proceed to the service department, the sales person was talking to his friend, instead of aknowledge me right there.. he kept talking to his friend! So asked him about the bikes racks for 3 bikes and told him the ones that I saw there none of them were for 3, he immediately told me that could be added on. That's fine! So then I proceed to ask what is the price and which one would he recommended? So he said some number, but didnt bothered to go check the price correctly, I still asked him what is the price and adding another one how more would be .. so just gave me anyprice and he said " I think... " so then asked which one is better?! So he said I use this at my car.. but i donk't know about the other?!!!! So here is my thought! If you are a sales person, you try to engage and try to make a sale like an " old car salesman" , you know what i mean! Until you are bore to hear that person anymore! So to me, I would not go back to that store for bikes! REalized also that prices were much more than going to an specialized bike store. So I DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR BIKING SHOP! If you can't give this place 5 Stars... then it's on you! What an incredible store. OK first I was impressed with the honor to George Washington and Abraham Lincoln on our way in to the store. Then once in here we walked around to section to section to see the very best of what life has to offer. I could go on, and on but just know you need to go here because it is amazing and it is incredible. This place is amazing! It seems to have everything you'd need for any sport. It also has a full size ferris wheel you can ride for $1, right by the entrance. There is lots to see also- salt water aquariums/lots of taxidermist animal heads and full animals on a big hill. A fun shooting gallery and a small bank of video games you sit in to play. S heels is an interesting store. My husband had visited one in Salt Lake and wanted me to experience it now that it is in Texas. It is like a Dick's Sporting Goods on steroids! Humongous store with two floors full of sporting goods items. There was one tiny section for home decorations. I loved the large aquarium and the full-sized Ferris wheel! Great selection, friendly staff. However masks aren't enforced at all once inside the store. Spotted tons of chin diaper wearers, and I counted at least 3 couples who weren't wearing them at all. They offer masks but don't require them, which meant several jerks walking around with their jerk faces and germs hanging out. That made me uncomfortable, but the employees are stupendously nice and helpful. Every section seemed to be staffed by employees who really knew the clothing, brands, and availability. A manager in men's named Tisha, saved us lots of time by knowing exactly what sizes were in stock and explaining the fit. Super impressed with the fitting room!!! This was my first time trying stuff on in this store, and the customer service was phenomenal. This place is just like Bass Pro Shop combined with Cabela's and put a ferris wheel in the center. It's huge and I don't feel like that makes it better. Maybe they have a larger selection. But it could just be all the nonsense thrown in to take up space like a talking Nolan Ryan and Emmitt Smith. It's a neat place to see once and that's it.
