WOW! I have been taking our vehicles here for years, have spent thousands of dollars without one complaint. Today I brought my parents car in for tire rotation, wiper blade changes and oil change. The last time (not Schierl) someone put the blades on wrong, and the one would only go halfway on the windshield. My parents can no longer drive, so the few miles they put on is minimal to doctor appts from time to time. It showed they needed an oil change, more because the time, not mileage. Of course, I called Schierl and made a "I'll wait appt." Because the blade was such a nuisance, prior to me bringing in the keys, I wanted to check. Now the driver's side does not work, there was no mention when I paid the bill. Loud knocking sound is now happening. I went back in and they said it was on the work order that it was not working, I was not called to advise, or I would have immediately said, it should be. I cannot say if they did or did not switch out the arm or not, I do not want to accuse as I didnt see what thety did. I can honestly say I do not recall seeing the bright pink numbers on the arm prior, but as I said it isn't my car, but I have taken it in for service and have never paid for an arm replacement. All repair work was done at the Ford dealer. Regardless of what happened...I was saying "it worked before it went in the shop. I even checked when I stopped to show where the blade was stopping." I would have said " I guess it now needs to be fixed." Instead, the mechanic rudely said, "I feel you are trying to pull the wool over our eye's" Maybe that would be something he would do, but we would NEVER do such a thing. My advice, DO NOT just assume they will do the job right, show them the issue and that it is working. All I had was the pollen that was on the windshield to show where the old wiper stopped. I will going forward be taking our business elsewhere and so will the rest of our family. read more

Brought my 2021 Honda for an oil change. Picked up the car and drove less than a mile from the shop and the front driver's tire came off jetting into oncoming traffic. The service technician never tightened the lug nuts !!!! Very terrifying experience. Extremely ticked off. that this occurred likely creating a future of problems and headaches when there was never an issue with the car read more

Was recommended to Schierl for a tire fix. I had a piece of glass in my tire coming home from Minocqua. Not only were they able to fix it, it took less than an hour. Don't do repairs they claim to do, but they're too busy to help you most of the time anyway.

So I went and took my car, because my steering leaked and I couldn't turn the steering wheel (power steering went out in my chevy trailblazer), they were cheaper than other competitors. It didn't seem to work when I got it back after they fixed my car, but they squeezed it in right a way... it was another part that went bad. After a week, with air in the line went out, it works great. Thank you for taking the time, Im so grateful I don't have to put any fluid in. read more

Traveling north from Waukesha, my tire blew out on Hwy 39 one mile south of Plover. I couldn't drive the spare very far or fast. I was stuck, but the road service guy recommended that I have the tire repaired at Schierl Tire in Stevens Point. The place was busy, but Kevin and the team fit me in promptly. The tire couldn't be repaired--big hole in the sidewall. They could have forced me to pay for a new tire costing more than $200. But Kevin checked with my local dealer, found I was covered in a hazard program, took additional steps and had me on my way with a new tire after paying only $29 for service. You can trust them to help you. If they were in my area, I would use only Schierl. read more

Our son took his car here to get his brakes fixed and they told us he needed brakes, pads and calipers all fixed and that the calipers were shot. We decided to get two more opinions on his car and wouldn't you know...the calipers were just fine. No need to fix those. What dishonestly from a company. It felt like they were taking advantage of a college kid. I would NEVER recommend them! read more

On the way up from Chicago to visit my parents we ran over a screw and had a flat tire. I called Schierl first thing in the morning, they said that they were booked but might be able to slip it in. I dropped it off, within a few hours they called back and said they had repaired it. I asked how much it came to and they said $0. I didn't expect that but was pleasantly surprised. Great service! Recent changes in Schierl Tire pricing policy has driven this long time customer away. The shop labor rate is usually $95 per hour (which is reasonable), but when charging for work using customer supplied parts the rate jumps to $135 per hour. I prefer to use genuine OE parts on my vehicles and Schierl does not always supply OE parts, or supplies them at grossly inflated prices. Customers should not be penalized with increased shop rates for finding a better deals on parts themselves. read more

I'm a woman, young, and don't know much about cars. Plus I drive an older, generic honda. At another car dealership, this could mean repairs my car didn't really need, or being out of the loop on what was done to the car and a surprise bill, or sloppy mistakes that would cost more to fix down the road. Not at Schierl. The appointment was very easy to make over the phone, with a cheerful representative who listed all the courtesy services their oil change included and listened to my concerns about issues the car had been having. On the day of, the car was in and out in an hour. Their waiting area is straight up luxurious, they have wifi, coffee, astonishingly clean bathrooms, magazines, TV, everything you could want while waiting. I got a complete breakdown of what they did during the oil change (lots of extras included with their service, at no charge), and a list of recommended repairs for both the short and long term to keep my beater running. Both the repair person and front desk employee took the time to explain why they recommended each of those things, which ones were really necessary to keep the car running vs. just routine, and the prices quoted were very reasonable. They even explained what a stabilizing bar was, and how it worked when I asked. The cherry on top was my car smelled amazing when I got back in, some kind of air freshener they use. Would recommend to anyone in the area, even if you have a bit of a drive. I heard about Schierl from a broke friend who is a big car guy, and went to them whenever he couldn't fix something, and would definitely keep the recommendation going. I'll be going back to them for both oil changes and bigger car fixes in the future, and am very glad I did not go to Walmart or a similar service center. Cannot recommend highly enough. read more

I started going to Shierl Tire two years ago when I had a flat tire and they got my car in the very next morning. I was worried about time and money, but they fixed the tire for zero fee that morning. I didn't realize when I brought the car in that they provided this amazing service; I just went to the auto place closest to my home. Mind you, they also drove me to my house and picked me up to get my tire. I was flabbergasted that a company would do all of this for free and asked "why?" The guy on the phone said that people have already had a bad day when they've received a flat, so if they can help make that person's day better they will. I told myself that I'd return for future service; I mean when a company has this policy I need to support them. Since then I bought new Goodyear tires from Shierl, received oil changes, and last month I got a used rim for my latest vehicle. Initially I went to Midas (it was on my way to work in Wausau) and Midas quoted me a crazy price for a rim, which they wanted me to pay upfront; my spidey senses went up and I called Shierl for a quote. Shierl quoted me ~$150 less and got my car in the next day; also, they don't have you pay until the car is fixed. I asked all sorts of questions on the phone about the rim and safety; the guy who spoke with me was patient and great at explaining everything. So, two days ago I'm driving home from Wausau and two warning lights appear...and I find that I have a huge puddle in my driveway that I hadn't noticed when I left. I called Shierl early the next morning and again spoke with a calm and patient guy who said they could get it in the following day--which brings us to today. Today I was told that my radiator was shot and I'd need a new radiator, along with some other issues. They told me what needed to be done immediately and what could wait. And get this--they lent me a vehicle to borrow until they fix my vehicle on Friday. What?! At no additional cost. This gives me great peace of mind because I was worried about getting to Enterprise to rent a car for a few days. Finding a trustworthy mechanic has always been a challenge for me. I'm lucky to have moved close enough to Shierl that this is why I initially went, but I continue to go for the awesome customer service and mechanical skill. Also, my spidey senses don't go up with these guys. They explain everything I have questions about and are always so patient and knowledgeable.
