Initially, I was skeptical when one folded layer of ham and one layer of capicolla made up all the meat, then a pile of shredded lettuce, two slices of tomato and some onion, spices, oil, vinegar and red pepper made up the sandwich. I got it to go, which I think Ed helped the sandwich to come together. The bread was very good. Since the shop was very slow at noon on a Saturday, and frankly the three employees looked bored out of their minds, I was afraid the bread would be old and stale. But it was pretty good. I really had the overall impression that everyone working here was just going through the motions and wanted to be a million other places. My order was taken by a young lady, the meat was cut by an older gentleman, as if he didn't trust anyone else with that task, and the assembly was completed by a young man. As soon as the cashier completed my transaction, she hopped back up on the back counter, waiting for another customer. As soon as the older gentleman cut the meat, he went to stare out of the to go window and suck on some ice from a cup. And the young assembly man talked the whole time to either the older man or the girl about who was in a truck in the parking lot. Every now and then he would ask me if I wanted something like red peppers or did I want the pickle or was it "to-go." It was very, very laid back. You are just here for the sandwich and they are just here to make it and get you in your way, no frills. It was okay, but very different from many of the other, similar shops. They did all have Sub Station II shirts, but it really made me think about how, let's say, Jersey Mike's workers all have on aprons and a cap, same with Subway or Firehouse. Just interesting. The place is clean, they wear gloves as they should. It's just something you don't think about until it's not there. Sure, I'll go back. $7 for a regular. But probably not driving here as a destination.

My husband ordered the Avocado Blast and actually told the waiter that, in his opinion, they should take it off the menu. The waiter responded, "It's very good," rather than asking what was wrong with it. The chicken was extremely tough, the cheese bread was chewy, and there were only two small slices of avocado. I ordered the rancheros, and they were awful as well. Unfortunately, the service wasn't any better. I had to actually get up from the table to get napkins because no one was checking on us.
