Definitely nothing too exciting about this place. Overall all good things though. Your average breakfast/sandwich shop combo. Ordered the any two deal with Turkey Avocado Cobb salad and half Tuna Sandwich. The salad was way better than expected especially with the dressing provided. The deal also comes with a side, I just got a bag of chips. The tuna sandwich was subpar, nothing but tuna salad a leaf of lettuce and tomato. I used some of the salad to give it texture and moisture and made it quite better. Partner ordered the breakfast plate with Eggs, bacon, and pancakes. Nothing exciting there. Just pretty plain. The ship was the best thing on the plate according to her. Dessert I grabbed a chocolate mini Bundt cake, which was overall sad and pretty dry. Tasted like it has been in the glass for a couple days now. Service was fine and the counter was neat. No complaints. No one bugged us during our meal, I'm not sure if it's practice here. Ambiance was okay, sort of like any other shop in this style. Overall, decent place but will probably not be a common place for me. read more

Portions are smaller and the prices are higher. Food quality is poor. My Caesar's salad has lettuces that were brown/black and has red discoloration on many leaves. Very fast with the desserts as they were already in the case and the drinks didn't take long either and the person behind the counter suggested oat milk instead of almond to give the drink a creamy flavor and she was right. The food is really very basic at best. You get a tiny half sandwich and soup that tastes canned with a bag of chips. They don't even remove the chips from the Lay's bag. Recently, I came here for the first time since becoming vegetarian and I was disappointed. I found a vegetarian sandwich that I thought I'd enjoy as I've had similar ones elsewhere, but it did not live up to my expectations. I ordered the Tomato Mozzarella sandwich and asked them to hold the arugula as I do not like arugula. I apparently did not read the rest of the sandwich description thoroughly enough because when I received the sandwich, it was very bare. I went back and asked them to add some spinach as I thought it was included on the sandwich (again, my mistake as I was wrong) and they did so without question. The sandwich itself was VERY bland - I would recommend choosing a different restaurant if you're vegetarian and looking for a tomato/cheese Italian style sandwich... I ordered the "Choose Two" so also tried some type of sweet salad (which I can't find on the menu now) that had mandarin oranges, strawberries, etc and a strawberry vinaigrette dressing... It was absolutely terrible. I couldn't even stand to eat it. To give some perspective, I've had sweet salads elsewhere that I thoroughly enjoyed, so whatever combination they did for this one was not great. Probably why I can't find it on the menu - and it SHOULD NOT return. The customer service here was great but unfortunately the food wasn't worth it so I won't be returning. read more

My friend and I went on a Saturday evening and it was tranquil inside Corner Bakery Cafe. Our order was accurately taken and arrived in a timely manner. I wouldn't say there is anything exceptional about this cafe since the food was decent and could've easily been prepared at home. This restaurant is clean and the food is fresh. Dropped by this place near my church on a Friday night after a leaders meeting, and this place was pretty decent! They have a great atmsophere, good food, and a lot of electrical outlets. And by a lot, I mean a l o t (which is good!) Corner Bakery Cafe is not located at a corner (lol), it's located between an AAA Office and a Chase bank. But besides that, they are located in the heart of the Memorial area, which is a prime area for a neighborhood in Northwest Houston. They have a wide variety of food, I would say similar to the vibes of Cafe Express, with fresh sandwiches, salads, pastas, and various cafe style foods. I had the Turkey Avocado Sandwich with a Caesar Salad as a side, and I was pretty satisfied with both of the food items I had. Many of my other friends ordered different food items, and they said the Chicken Carbonara was overall pretty good and satisfying for the price they paid. I would come back again! read more

I work in the same shopping center as this location and have always been interested to try it. So since I was in the area thought I'd stop by to see if it was any good. Once you walk in, there aren't any signs directing you to go to the counter to order, so of course I was a bit confused especially with it being my first time here. Once I'm finally at the counter, I notice that they have some baked goods in their display case, cookies, croissants, and bagels, they all looked very appealing. I ordered the pancakes with bacon and eggs, which was $10, it comes in a stack of 4 and the only style of eggs offered is scrambled. They also offer breakfast wraps, sandwiches, scrambles, and coffee. I also ordered a hot chai latte, it does come with whole milk, I didn't see any, nor was I informed if they have any milk substitutes. Once I was finished with my order, the girl hadn't said anything else to me, she then called the next person in line for their order and gave me a number. After I seated myself, and once I got my food I asked the runner in regards to my coffee since I didn't receive it with my food. He then points at the counter and says "It's up there" okay, good to know I was supposed to wait at the counter for my drink order. Once I was at the counter I waited for a brief moment, but I believe the girl had forgotten to make it, so I'm still waiting and as she finishes it she just sets it on the counter for me to get without saying anything. Mind you, this is the same lady who originally took my order. Once I had my chai latte I finally sat down to eat, the eggs and bacon were fine, the bacon not as crispy as I would like, the scrambled eggs weren't anything special, and the pancakes, which I was looking forward to the most, weren't satisfying at all, they seemed to taste strange, almost sour. I couldn't finish eating it. The chai tea was OK, a bit on the sweeter side and my cup only felt half full. Overall I wasn't too impressed with this place, I don't think I'd come here again, at least by myself, especially not for $15 on a meal I didn't even enjoy. I ordered through Door Dash for lunch delivery today. My order was small, just two items, a cup of soup and an Arnold Palmer to drink. When my order arrived the soup was delivered, but there was no drink. I then thought that maybe the delivery person has neglected to bring it up, so I contacted them and was told that they had delivered what the store had given to them. So then I reached out to Corner Bakery, and spoke with a Manager I was told that they realized that the cashier had neglected to give the driver the complete order and that there was really nothing they could do other than to let them know the next time I placed an order with them and they would send the omitted item then. I explained that really wouldn't do me any good today. He then said you can ask for a refund from Door Dash. That was the only thing he could do as they didn't have a delivery driver that could now deliver it. He did not even sound as if he really cared. The soup is good. But I won't be ordering from them again. 1. The cashier did not complete the order. 2. It was not verified. 3. I am left without a drink that was over $5.00 4. I will have to wait 5-7 days for the funds to be back in my account.. Not a happy customer. read more

Let me start with the staff, they are so pleasant and willing to help you find what you need! I'm not much of a breakfast person so they helped me find something more geared towards lunch even though it was 9 am. I opted for the Mac and cheese and a fruit cup. I will day it tasted fresh however the cheese sauce was a little bit on the soupy side for me. Yet yummy. As for the establishment itself the seating could use a good cleaning crumbs everywhere but the tables weren't sticky or anything. Near the register it had a "damp" smell that was a little bit unpleasant. I will say it's a great spot to study if they could get a good cleaning through the place I see no reason as to why I won't be back!! read more

Comfy little spot with reasonable prices in a shopping center. Very similar to Jason's Deli or Newks in the foods and ambience. Easy to miss from the road but the sign is big once you see it! The facilities are very clean and there is a ton of seating-booths, tables, high tables. I like that each table has outlets. This is a great place to come in and work. I feel that this sets Corner Bakery apart from the other places I mentioned. Service was very friendly. They had my soup immediately after I swiped my card! I just stopped in for a little snack, so I got a cup of cheese broccoli soup and an iced tea. This Alabamian has had the hardest time finding true sweet tea in Houston-I mean come on y'all, this is T E X A S. But this place has got it!! Their sweet tea is delicious and tasted oh so fresh. Could be much better... This is a casual breakfast and lunch venue. It is rather quiet and peaceful in the morning but the pace and noise level really increases during the lunchtime rush. There is a large display case next to the register with loads of yummy baked goods. There is also a decent coffee bar for patrons who need a caffeine fix. Today I placed a "to go" order. Although I normally get a tuna salad combo, this time I ordered a chicken pomodori panini combo because I was tempted by an email I'd received as a result of being on the mailing list. I should have stuck with my old favorite! The combo came with half of a sandwich, a cup of soup (I got chicken tortilla), a bag of chips and a pickle. The portion was good but I was overall not too impressed. When I opened the box at first glance I thought maybe they'd given me the wrong sandwich by mistake. I thought it was a grilled cheese sandwich because it was SO THIN! I opened the bread to see 3-4 pieces of chicken, a smear of some type of sauce and a few pieces of spinach. Oh, there was also something that resembled sun dried tomatoes on it too but it was so few that I barely noticed the taste. The tortilla soup was spicy as always but this time if was extremely oily. I could see the grease floating on top. Needless to say, I stopped eating it about half way through. Thank goodness I had a $3.00 off coupon because if I didn't, I would have been truly upset. I've been a patron of this place in the past and know that they can do better. I know that quality can dip during peak hours but I was the only person in line. I decided yesterday on 11/25/2020 to stop by to see how the food is besides that one soup. Big mistake! I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich with the pesto on the side, a cesar salad, and chicken noodle soup cup. The chicken sandwich was cold, the bread tasted old and worst they didn't put anything on the side. There was only cold chicken and the bread. I ended up taking the chicken off and just eating the bread and soup. Chicken noodle soup was OK. Just basic and salty. Barely any chicken or noodle in it. The salad was a salad. The greens were fresh so I'll give them that. There are so many better places to eat in the area (also avoid lupe tortilla).... Don't waste your money here or LT. read more

We stopped in an hour before closing and had a great experience! I have always been a fan of corner bakery and I haven't been in a while so was excited to go tonight. First off, whoever the sweet lady was working the register this evening (Saturday July 10,2021 @ 8:00pm) she deserves a raise! It's so rare I come across good customer service these days so I can't express how much it is appreciated on my end. She happily greeted my husband and I as we walked in all the way from the register. She was so happy to take our order and just overall kind and happy to be there. THANK YOU! This location resembles most Corner Bakery's. It is fairly spacious and has a private dining area. Management and staff are very nice and welcoming so customer service is pretty awesome. This location is kept very clean so none of the tables or seating looked dirty. The quality of the food is comparable to any other locale. Will definitely return as it is in close proximity to church and Bible study! read more
