The staff is always amazing but since new ownership took over, the quality of the food has gone way down. I don't know if it is a supplier change or going with cheaper ingredients but it is definitely not what it used to be. Such a bummer as this was always one of our fave spots. Our two daughters and their families from the Bay Area, California were visiting. One daughter and I were attenting a painting class just up the street, so we decided to have the rest of our family join us for dinner at Schmizza Public House in the Orenco area. The crowd was lively watching a baseball game. One of my daughters discovered their "App" that allowed the customers and employeeas to select music to be played for a cost (similar to an old-time juke box player), with an additional cost to move your selected song higher up on the play list. Our server (I think his name was Travis) worked quickly to attend to the customers, was great in providing what we needed, and was lively and amusing. The pizza and wings were delicious and we had a very fun time. The environment was upbeat, entertaining, and fun, and we look forward to returning in the near future. read more

We just moved into the Orenco area and have been trying the many restaurants in the vicinity. Schmizza Public House will be a regular visit. Great service and food. Madison was excellent taking care of us. She was patient and very knowledgeable of the menu and its offerings. We had a pizza, cobb salad with chicken tenders, and a blta croissant. All were excellent. The accompanying beverages were also perfect. it was alright. Went last Friday with a group of friends to have some pizza and drinks. it took us forever to get seated even though there was plenty of open seating. Once we finally got seated it took another 15mins for our waiter to come to our table and grab our drink order. Honestly, we saw she was working the section by herself so we did not give her any grief because she had a lot going on. I order the caesar salad because it's my favorite and it was pretty good, can't complain. The pizza I ordered was a make your own with pep, sausage and mushroom, it was okay. it was lacking something but I cannot pin point what it was missing. For dessert we ordered the chocolate lava cake (that's their only dessert) and it needed major help. Half of the cake was done and the other half was hard so I am guessing it was microwaved in order to be hot. The cake was not moist at all and there was no lava coming out of the cake what so ever so we just ate the ice cream off top. We had the steak pasta and the pesto chicken pasta. The steak pasta was very close to having Campbell mushroom soup as a base with two small pieces of steak mixed in. The pesto chicken pasta was quite dry and hardly any chicken in the dish. If any Parmesan cheese was in either dish, it was non existent. I would say this place is a 3.5 - definitely sports bar vibes with a few interesting decor pieces on the wall lol, good selection of beers and cider on tap, a couple great options for pizza, and the service is always friendly. (I know they have been pretty short staffed) We have been here a few times with us, our dog one time sitting outside and always with our baby in her stroller. It's great that it's dog friendly for the outdoor seating but does feel a little crammed once you are inside. But there is a nice little corner in the back where we always pick if available so our stroller is out of the way. It also has some bar seating. We try to get a different pizza each time and haven't found our favorite yet but they are all good! The crust is especially crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. They don't skimp on the toppings either. The schwings were flavorful but the fish and chips were a little dense so maybe skip that. read more

We decided to give them a try tonight, new to the area and they are very nearby We ordered a large pepperoni and pineapple, asking them to make it as thin as possible as they don't have "thin crust" per se. I picked the pizza up, hung out inside while waiting. The place is pretty small, music a tad loud for my taste...but it has a light, fun atmosphere. The large 2 topping was $26 and is a good size, and they did manage to get the crust quite thin. Unfortunately the under crust was a bit soft for my liking, and the pineapple looked right out of the can, placed on top, and was barely warm. The rest of the pizza was cooked well, so we could only guess the pineapple was put on very late or when it was actually done. Unfortunate....Might go back and try something else on the menu, but probably no more cold, hard pineapple Schmizza for me. read more

Great happy hour menu with lots of options. Their drinks are pretty decent. I am not sure if I would come here if it was not happy hour however. The service is really hit or miss. I have had a few servers that were excellent and very attentive. I have also had a few who would rather help other tables than mine and cannot remember the order so they have to keep coming back to ask. Another thing to mention is that it is SO loud it can be hard to hear the people you are with. This could contribute to the server's inability to hear my order but it was multiple times they had to keep coming back so I am unsure. I have ordered take out from here and it was just such an awful experience. They forgot half the food and when I called they told me I could come back to get it because they simply forgot. I would have been more understanding if they wouldn't have said "oh I wondered why there was an extra to go box here." I really don't like to make long, negative reviews but after at least 4-5 times here I am just so disappointed. They do have decent tasting food but I don't really think it's worth the hassle. For me it's going to get a 6.5/10 or 3/5 stars. read more

I have seen this location many times and it always looks busy. Tonight I decided to go in and was pleasantly surprised at his good it was. I thought it was the usual pizza by the slice like others I've been too but they had a huge full menu with lots of great choices. Came here for a quick happy hour a couple of days ago. The place is located in Orenco station area. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and is family friendly. The hh prices were reasonable and it was just great being able to sit outside and enjoy the limited sunshine that's left. It's kinda 50/50 for me. It's edible but is it good. I mean you can get better versions of this elsewhere but it's open late night. The staff barely remembers the food they serve and you have to fight with them to basically get what's on the menu. So it's kinda not the greatest service but it's not the worst I've had in Oregon either so it's kinda like yes u can you eat here but I'm not sure I'd say you should. I also can't say don't either. The ambiance is weird I can't say I like it all. The vibe is definitely yeah I need customers but can you also like just leave or better yet don't come at all. Forgot to write our review for our first time here. Enjoyed that meal very much with friends. This time, husband & I hopped off the Max train on our way home commuting together. Got there for happy hour and I enjoyed one of the best margaritas I've had in a long time. If you've read many of my other reviews, this is high praise I don't hand out very often. Bartender was Ryan. Yay, Ryan!! We were there on a gorgeous evening with the windows open. Hubby ordered the happy hour schmeesy bread & asked them to add pepperoni. I ordered the steak tacos. I wanted them last time, but they were out. Now I know why! SO good! Last time I got the fish & chips. Spendy, but tasty. I love having a delicious meal & drinks in a beautiful environment with my love for under $30 counting the tip. I would say the only downside to this place is during busy hours. I used to enjoy coming here but I don't think I'll be back. We walked in and a wait staff greeted us and we took a seat. There was one person working for the whole place so we waited patiently for them to stop by our table. 20+ minutes passed and no one came. Another wait staff clocked in so we had hope.
