Half Spicy Thai and Half Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza
    Amanda C.

My husband and I LOVE Schmizza! Service is always swift. They're super understanding of me sitting and studying in their restaurant. We particularly love the Spicy Thai pizza, but it's hard to go wrong. It's a great family restaurant or date night spot.

We just moved into the Orenco area and have been trying the many restaurants in the vicinity. Schmizza Public House will be a regular visit. Great service and food. Madison was excellent taking care of us. She was patient and very knowledgeable of the menu and its offerings. We had a pizza, cobb salad with chicken tenders, and a blta croissant. All were excellent. The accompanying beverages were also perfect. My daughter had cider, my wife had a refreshing beer, and I had a very flavorful chardonnay Great setting and very enjoyable visit...we will be back.

We're new to the neighborhood and are pleasantly surprised at what Schmizza has to offer. Late night eats, a good vibe, a myriad of beers, and an extended menu that has something for everyone. Brittney was our server and she was beyond cool and assistive. She made us feel at home and was super fun to be around. The happy hour options are great. Wings were top notch! Pizza was also great. So happy to be close by to be a regular here. This spot is great for any time of day or night to hang with friends and eat to your hearts content.

I would say this place is a 3.5 - definitely sports bar vibes with a few interesting decor pieces on the wall lol, good selection of beers and cider on tap, a couple great options for pizza, and the service is always friendly. (I know they have been pretty short staffed) We have been here a few times with us, our dog one time sitting outside and always with our baby in her stroller. It's great that it's dog friendly for the outdoor seating but does feel a little crammed once you are inside. But there is a nice little corner in the back where we always pick if available so our stroller is out of the way. It also has some bar seating. We try to get a different pizza each time and haven't found our favorite yet but they are all good! The crust is especially crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. They don't skimp on the toppings either. The schwings were flavorful but the fish and chips were a little dense so maybe skip that.

Tarot tots with Cajun garlic seasoning, Chicken Tenders and a Shiner Bock. Perfect

Great service and very helpful staff. Nice atmosphere and they had shiner bock my favorite Texas beer.

    Pepperoni & (cold) pineapple pizza

We decided to give them a try tonight, new to the area and they are very nearby We ordered a large pepperoni and pineapple, asking them to make it as thin as possible as they don't have "thin crust" per se. I picked the pizza up, hung out inside while waiting. The place is pretty small, music a tad loud for my taste...but it has a light, fun atmosphere. The large 2 topping was $26 and is a good size, and they did manage to get the crust quite thin. Unfortunately the under crust was a bit soft for my liking, and the pineapple looked right out of the can, placed on top, and was barely warm. The rest of the pizza was cooked well, so we could only guess the pineapple was put on very late or when it was actually done. Unfortunate....Might go back and try something else on the menu, but probably no more cold, hard pineapple Schmizza for me.

The service was excellent. And my burger was pretty yummy, loaded with fresh ingredients. It's not too greasy.

I really enjoyed stopping in here to watch football. Delicious specialty drinks. Their avocado fries are a must!

[Format & Space] Seat yourself*, review the menus at the table, order at the bar, they bring your food and drinks to your table. *Plenty of tables, some with long benches, others with chairs on the inside. There's also a large patio. This is a welcome and safe space. [Drinks] Right up front, I'm going to tell you I'm a lightweight. I'm allergic to alcohol, so I don't drink often. Here's one of the things I love about The 649. They have a fantastic selection of mocktails that are created with the same creativity, flair, and intention as a "leaded" cocktail. I appreciate that I get to participate and not be stuck with a lemonade, zero alcohol beer, or wine. So, HUZZAH for creating an inviting space for a non-drinker! There *are* times when I'm willing to risk the lobster-bod, itchiness, and stuffy nose and there are plenty of cocktails from which to choose! [Food] There's a nice selection of sharable plates and mains. I've personally tried the flatbread pizza, Bavarian pretzel, Cubano, and Brisket Press, all of which were delish. [Service] The service has always been fabulous. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and helpful. [Activities] There are a few TVs around the bar with sports. It was a great place to catch some of the World Cup games. Additionally, there are several games that you can borrow and play, which is a lot of fun. [Location] Tucked in a busy shopping center with Safeway as an anchor. Parking hasn't been super problematic yet, but based on one of the other reviewers (Ron R - loved your formatting too, so I borrowed it until we get rich text formatting or emojis!) I can see where it could be a challenge.

*Closed business notice* Yeeeeah... BDSM is abbreviated…read morelike that on purpose and isn't accidental or coincidental at all. To be honest I tried two attempts here to get their beer and both times were fails. The address associated with their Yelp entry here seems to be at the owner's house. And they indeed did have a small taproom here going off of the Yelp pictures. People really liked the beers from the other reviews and the concept definitely caught our attention (ahem) but when we got there and within operating hours of the taproom everything was closed up tighter than a drum. We wanted to make another attempt to try their beer at a later time and when we did it looked like they moved to downtown Hillsboro. We'll we made it there, Steve and I and went in the door only to be told they were closed BUT the owner didn't turn us away and so we had a can of cider. They were doing a remodel and we figured we would make yet another attempt in a few months to try their beer since none was available during the particular time the remodel was taking place and when we arrived. I made a third attempt only to find out the old BDSM sign was taken down and smoked meats and cold beer were sold at the location we were at months before. All of these changes must have been recent and swift because the third attempt was a week ago and Google had the business in the search as still being open and they had an active Facebook page. The Facebook page and has since vanished in a week's time and the Google result says they are permanently closed. They still have their own website up but I wouldn't imagine that is very useful at this point and time. Too bad. A few missed opportunities here without a full on beer experience with what they brewed.

The outside seating appears closed in the winter and the curb appeal needs a helping hand. A pint is $9 with a half pint costing $5.00.
