It had probably been close to a decade since I'd been back to this specific location, and unfortunately, it just isn't the same anymore. The biggest change is the layout. The dining area has essentially been split in half with the addition of video poker and a fake wall, which makes the space feel much smaller and less welcoming. They do have three TV screens for watching sports and a small bar where they can make cocktails, but on a Friday night during a Ducks game it still felt oddly arranged--everyone watching the game was standing on the video poker side rather than seated in the main dining area. The pizza itself was good, but nothing memorable. Back in the day, this place was known for some fun, quirky combinations, but now the menu feels much more limited and basic--cheese, pepperoni, genoa, and other standard options. Even the hot sauce selection, which used to be a nice touch, appears to be gone. Service was friendly but slow, largely because there was only one person running the entire store. They were clearly working hard, but it showed. The tap list is still small, and while they do list combo options, prices aren't posted. We ended up ordering the two slices and a soda combo for $11.50, but only after asking what it cost. Overall, it feels like cost cutting has taken away some of what made this place special years ago. Schmizza is probably my favorite cheaper pizza. We were out running errands and were starving so we stopped in at about 3:30 on Sunday the 20th & really enjoyed our pizza (aside from a very burnt slice they honestly shouldn't have served us.) I've never had potato & broccoli on a pizza before but I'm obsessed. The server was very friendly & quick, but the crowd there drinking was so rowdy & obnoxious, we couldn't talk while we ate. We ate for a few minutes & left to finish our meal in the car as the loud customers were just so overwhelming. This was my first time at this location & it was so filthy, dead flies everywhere and crumbs in the seats/on the tables, we didn't notice til we had already ordered, otherwise we would've just ordered it to go to begin with. Food and service are good, but the owner has to do something with the "regulars" at the bar, who think they own the place. The noise level of them shouting at each other over the blaring Head Banger music interspersed with rude comments, is appalling. The owner has to realize that he or she is losing business here, unless their alcohol consumption is making up for it. Placed an online order which gave an estimated time of "about 25 minutes". Brought a car of hungry kids after about 20 minutes to finish waiting. The lady calls on the phone and in the most cheerful, insincere, non-regretful voice lets me know that they have a catering order that they have to prioritize over mine, and that ours will still not be ready for another 45 minutes or so. She said "We can't give a time estimate for online orders if you don't call. After deciding we couldn't wait that much longer with our hungry kids, I walked inside to cancel the order. I kindly told the lady "Just so you know, it actually does give a time estimate when you place an order online." And she goes "I have no control over that." We ordered 3 large pizzas for a pre-Thanksgiving gathering of friends. The order was placed at 5:27 PM online. We gave plenty of lead time, requesting the delivery by 7:30 PM. The pizza didn't arrive until after 8:15 PM - almost THREE HOURS after the order was placed and 45 min after the requested time. The pizzas were barely luke-warm and not worth the $90 we spent for 3 pies. When the (3rd party) delivery person was asked why the order was so late, they said, "Your pizzas had not been started when I got there, so I had to wait for them to make the pizzas." Hmm. My wife called the store, asking what had happened and what would be done to make up for the very disappointing experience. The woman on the phone did not even offer a simple apology, but briefly checked with the "manager" then came back on the phone and claimed the online order arrived late to them. Hmm again. Carrier pigeons could have traveled the 2 miles from our home to the pizza place faster. The pizza is what you'd expect from a place like this. Slightly greasy, adequate amount of toppings, and satisfies a pizza craving without hurting your wallet too badly. What really saves this place is the staff and restaurant itself. There are lots of cool, funny, and interesting things written on the ceilings. There are tables with dolls in the glasstop. The people are always friendly, and it doesn't take long for your pizza to be ready. The music is great too! It took a week to get the order and we eat 50 minutes later than was promised "Pizza Scmizza". DoorDash provided a $15 credit for the wait and the driver said it was the restaurants fault as he waited for the order for a long time. How was the pizza? The pizza was pretty damn good but not worth the price we paid. The Caesar Schmaesar reminded me of the Safeway Bag Caesar Salad and was not memorable at all. I've eaten a-plenty of pizza in my time and find that I really prefer thin crust artisanal styled pizzas these days, Schmizza comes pretty close. All in all a solid tasting pizza on the flavor scale with a good crust. Not my favorite, but surely does the job. Called in my order for pickup since their online ordering system doesn't let you create a half and half pizza, nor does it let you order many of the bottled drinks they stock, and I surely did not want Pepsi, yuck. Arrived 15 minutes after ordering and everything was ready for pickup, except my side salad, which was fixed up immediately. Today it's a medium pizza (looks like a 10" inch) half Genoa and half Don Ho. Don't care what people say, pineapple on pizza is delicious! Small order of BBQ wings, small garden salad with a couple sides of ranch, and a cane sugar Mexi-Coke. Everything was cooked well and the salad was fresh with ecoli-free romaine, cucumbers, pearl tomatoes, Kalamata olives, croutons and no wilting. Pizza was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, no extra char and flavors matched as expected. Nothing uniquely stellar, but plenty good. The crust definitely counts and has a good taste and consistency, not overly doughy or more akin to a flour tortilla. The amount of toppings is average for a lighter styled pizza, not overly loaded or under. Wings have plenty of sweet BBQ glaze and are fried perfect as they should be along with some sticks of celery and carrot. Their ranch is not exactly Hidden Valley tasting, but close. No plastic or styrofoam packaging is a plus, and the counter girl was friendly. Fairly easy parking but imagine that lot could get full during peak hours. Only things I'd change would be to cut those pineapple slices up instead of keeping them in the ring shape, that way you can get pineapple into every bite instead of tearing it up into a few pieces to make that happen. Online ordering system could use an update to create true half and half combos and also include some of their bottled drinks instead of just offering nasty Pepsi. All around, pricing is average and I'd surely return. Doesn't quite make my top 5, but I'll keep Schmizza in my local top 10. read more

Bad service. Forgotten, arrived prior all the families with kids, but they were served first. I'm diabetic. The big guy with Bob Marley hat apologized but there is no excuse for making me wait. My husband swears this pizza is just as good as Hot Lips pizza. He loves the ability to add minced garlic. I ordered their garden pasta no cheese no olive oil (as I don't do oils). It was crazy bland even though it had some veggies, were also sorta skimpy with the veggies. I went back and asked for marinara to try and flavor it up and it didn't add much. She just said "Oh I will pass the info around"... The crust is gooey and tastes very strange. My friend ordered me a "vegan pizza" with veggies (I figured out its the gluten free veggie pizza do not get it...its horrible). A competitor does vegan pizza GOOD (but stop delivering at a certain time so we chose this place). There is absolutely no flavoring to the pizza on the veggies, there is no sauce, and basically its just like a microwaved pizza gone wrong with veggies on top. Don't think the manager-owner knows or care what's happening at this locations, i expected better, far better. What does this cost this location.
