First time eating at this restaurant this early afternoon; would definitely return!!! First off there is limited parking on the street in front and in back of the restaurant. If you drive south past the restaurant on Ada Dr it's not even half a block to some excellent parking. The restaurant has very poor signage so it's easy to miss. It's up about a flight and a half of stairs, I did not think to check for accessibility, sorry! Totally charming venue, casual great bar feel with wood floors and tables etc. Massive bar against the back wall. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. Lady running the counter super nice, young lady who delivered our drinks also super nice, young man who brought us our food not super nice. They got the order wrong, had to be sent back, and we literally got a full in the face eye roll and disgusted look - save it for the cook who got the order wrong, not our fault dude. Normally that level of rude would drop this review to a 1 or 2 star but we weren't here to deal with his snit. We sat comfortably in front of the fireplace. Food was delicious when it finally came. Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the view out the windows on this winter day.

    Warm and inviting.

Had the scallops with risotto last night and strawberry swirl cheesecake-wonderful! Sat by the fireplace which was a bonus on a chilly December night. Mark the bartender was his usual self as was our delightful server Tara.

    BLT Sandwich

The food was great, everything was fairly priced for the amount of food they give. I had the French dip and the Au Jus was very flavorful and added the perfect amount of saltiness to my sandwich. The BLT sandwich had a ton of crispy bacon in it, they do not skimp out on the good stuff!! The only reason this place got a 2 star and we won't be back, is because we asked if anything was included with the sandwich.. to which our waitress replied yes chips or fries. But when we got our check, we got charged for our sides, and when I asked she tried to reissue her statement and asked if that made sense to me. I guess it never made sense to me because in the 7 years I was a server, if someone asked if something was INCLUDED it meant it came with the meal. After reading a few other reviews it makes me skeptical why we were charged. If you do come here, just keep in mind nothing actually comes included with your sandwich.

Even after…read moresending it back, it was still inedible--which was surprising given how simple the order was: scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, and pancakes. The pancakes were cold, as if they had come straight out of the refrigerator. The potatoes were soggy and cold and tasted like nothing but oil- no seasoning at all. The sausage was so dry that even drinking water didn't help and you could hardly cut through it with a fork. The eggs were initially runny on the inside and dry on the outside, which raised enough food-safety concerns that my wife sent them back. When the replacement arrived, the eggs were completely overcooked and dry and rubbery. She didn't finish her meal, and the waitress never seemed to notice that anything was wrong. Overall, while my meal was fine, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for quality food.

I ordered the: * SMORGASBORD (grilled salmon, mixed greens, arugula, pickled beets, radish, whipped goat cheese, flax bread, herb vinaigrette) - supposed to be grilled salmon but they were out as mentioned so did grilled chicken. * POTATO WEDGES (salt and vinegar potato wedges, truffle aioli, scallion) - not very salt & vinegar-y but the wedges were cooked to perfection!

The food, however, did not meet expectations. I found the deviled eggs to be overcooked and a bit rubbery while simultaneously lacking flavor. The presentation was nice but I care more about the taste than how it looks. The Tavern Smash Burger does not seem to know what it wants to be. The patties were thicker than a traditional smash burger, lacking the juiciness of a regular burger while also missing the caramelization of your typical smash patty.
