I had the Bread & Fat, which is their bread service with rotating butter (that night was jalapeño tomato) and it's not free but it's cheap. Good stuff. The bread was thick like Japanese sliced bread. Their mussels appetizer is delicious. The sauce includes some sort of ground up sausage which I believed to be chorizo. It's a good portion. And it comes with a different bread. I used that bread to soak up the sauce! For dinner I had the Campanelle pasta. It was basically a pork ragu. Really good. There was no room for dessert - just another cocktail! The Chat Noir was a nice ending to my evening. I enjoyed chatting with Sara and Isabella at the bar. They kept me company. What a nice evening I had! I'd love to come back and try some of their other dishes. They were out of the prime steak tartare, so I'll get that next time, along with their trout, halibut or half chicken. Yum. I hope the restaurant addresses these issues because it has the potential to provide a much better dining experience. Also, I would skip the sea bass entree. I was not really impressed with it and wished that I had ordered a pasta dish. However the server helped me decide and chose the sea bass. I loved the atmosphere. I loved the decor. Overpriced and underwhelming…read more In any other city, this place would have its lunch eaten by better operations / food. ~$125 per person (before tip) for 2 steaks (ribeyes), 3 sides, and 2 Diet Cokes is a bit much considering the quality of food. Fries and brussels were delicious, but the lobster mac is overrated (bland) and our steaks were mediocre. Both were slightly overcooked (not a dealbreaker, but for $85/each I'd expect better). Add in the fact that they just drown them in butter and salt to hide the poor cooking (somehow, very little sear and barely any grill marks on one of the two steaks). Service was excellent - I'll give it that, but it was a little slow at the end once our meal had concluded to get us packed up / being a check. Atmosphere - it feels upscale, but that's just because of the prices and menu selection / options. Food came out quickly, portions were good for the price. They also validate parking for the lot just behind their building (street parking is tight / limited). Unfortunately, it's unlikely that we'd come back. Good news is, there are lots of other options for special occasions in town so weigh your options before booking here.

They're not open Sundays so we celebrated mother day 1 day early with a 4p reservation. On the return voicemail, we were offered a reservation with a request to be out before 6p (doable since 1 hour is the max we can sit in a restaurant before chaos ensues...you know, kids). Love this neighborhood restaurant - cozy, intimate, good eats. We played eye spy with their decorations (look for the 3 pigs and the lobster and the red glasses) and enjoyed 2 rounds of hot buns with really good butter before sharing the walleye and spaghetti.
