What a great place to grab a beer! My only experience at this restaurant was a few to several years ago when my friend and I dined here for Sunday brunch (or something like that.) Back then, I really wasn't paying attention as to what they offered. Today, when we stopped here for a quick drink, I realized that their drink menu is/was quite massive especially for beers (tap and cans.) I didn't have any (alcoholic) drink (as I am/was temporarily abstaining from it), my BF, however, had a pint of Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing IPA which I took a super tiny sip of. Whereas I may not be an IPA expert (I can only consume certain IPAs with lower IBUs only), this IPA's haziness was just right where it canceled out the typical IBU level many IPAs have. It truly tasted pleasant to me which shocked me. He later went for a second one and this time, it was a canned Montucky Cold Snaps. I also took a tiny sip out of it and unfortunately, I didn't care for this one as it had a good amount of sweetness which might be coming from one of the ingredients: corn. The (first) Hazy IPA was much more superb in a way that although its bitterness is a lot higher than Montucky, it (Hazy IPA) is/was (overall) much more superior beer than in quality than Montucky. There are other interesting beers (on tap) based on the menu we looked. Once I am out of my abstinence, I would love to come back here for a nice pint of something good. I think I set my eye on "Great Divide Love & Lemon; this sounds very interesting! We were sat at one of the comfortable chairs upstairs where there is its own bar. The bartender that was in charge of the bar was extremely attentive and pleasant to is.

Kickin it Old School. This well repurposed building has some old world charm with an elevated trendy menu that keeps with the school house theme. Plenty of indoor space, large bar and fun outdoor seating area with an Old Towne feels. Here is my grade card for for the Bacon-Wrapped Dates and Lunch Lady Sloppy Joe. Culinary Report Card: Bacon-Wrapped Dates These bacon-wrapped dates at School House Kitchen and Bar are the star student of the appetizer menu. Subject: Flavor Composition (A+) It's a classic case of opposites attract--the sweet, chewy date is the quiet, studious kid, while the salty, crispy bacon is the charming, rebellious one. When they finally got paired up with the goat cheese for this group project, the resulting flavor profile was valedictorian material. The balsamic glaze acts like a master's thesis, adding a complex, tangy layer of brilliance that ties the whole concept together. Seriously, this is a lesson in savory-sweet balance. Overall Grade: Dean's List If you skip this appetizer, you're cutting class on the best part of the menu. Don't be tardy--order them immediately. They're what you wish they'd served for lunch duty. Lunch Lady Sloppy Joe: Pop Quiz Review This isn't your average cafeteria food; it's the version that went to culinary school. The seasoned beef and brioche are an A for effort, but the real genius is the Blue Cheese. That sharp, tangy bite is the bold, straight-A student that elevates the whole class. The sweet potato tots are delicious and numerous--they're the overachieving sidekick. The Catch: It gets a B- in structural integrity. Eating it is a mandatory clean-up on Aisle 3. Quiz Grade: A (Dean's List). It's a little messy, but brilliantly executed. Don't cut class on this one. Overall Grade: Summa Cum Laude (High Honors) This isn't your mother's Sloppy Joe; it's the version that went to culinary school and got an MBA. It's a complex, highly satisfying sandwich that respects its heritage while boldly achieving new, delicious heights. Highly recommended field trip for your tastebuds.

I really appreciated the commitment to the history of the building and the retro school theme. I ordered a sloppy Joe, which historically is a not well-liked school menu item (I love the classic) but this was elevated, and even more delicious than the OG. The tables are made out of old gym floors, the drink menus look like scantrons. Very cool. Would like to come back to try some whiskey

Ok, my daughter's boyfriend lives in Arvada and knows I like unique bourbon - he said "You need to go to School House in Arvada". We had time so went and met them there. BANG AMAZING. Troy helped us out the whole night. The food, service and holy crap the drinks / whiskey was just awesome. I gather it is the 3rd largest Whiskey bar after the Stanley Hotel (the Shining - in Estes Park) and Finn's Manor in Denver. Frankly it has to be. The whiskey selection was over the top. They had most of the unicorns including Russell's 15 and Michter 10 (and Pappy's etc). And the cost of the pours was definitely reasonable. Great selection of food too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Thank you Troy! Go Redbirds!!!!

Had another good experience showing someone around Olde Town for the first time and going to School House for lunch! Highly recommend the Wadsworth salad, hold the blue cheese and add either grilled chicken or shrimp.

Popped in here while exploring Arvada and loved it! the theme being a school was very creative. We sat in their bar section so we were seated right away is it is open seating in that specific section. We ordered their fried pickles, buffalo sandwich and BALT. We were absolutely obsessed with their friend pickles! They come in the shape of a fry and the dipping sauce was insanely good we asked for another one for our main course. The buffalo chicken sandwich was pretty good- came with a lot of blue cheese so if you don't like blue cheese make sure you mention it. However the BALT was very bland with little taste. I'd still come here again just order a different sandwich as they had many options! Cool ambiance and quick service

Cool little spot in an area in Arvada with lots of shops and other restaurants. I really enjoyed the ambiance but the food was okay. I had a burger and it was average. I did enjoy the menus and the little things to remind you of the school days. The service is on-point and the server team is very helpful and friendly. Lots of paid and street parking available. On a Friday night we were able to find street parking that was free.

This place was great, I was a little nervous as some reviews seem all over the place but am glad I went. The drinks were solid, the burger was delicious. The atmosphere was very cute. School chairs for seats, pencils in the bar top, beaker glasses.

Other times I'm just in the mood for a cocktail that reminds me why I don't waste my time at places that think whiskey and cola is "craft." This visit was all about the cocktails, and Seven Grand absolutely delivered. Josh, our bartender, was running the room like a conductor leading an orchestra of happy whiskey drinkers. He asked what we liked, made a couple of recommendations for Old Fashioneds based on our preferences, and absolutely nailed it. Every drink was balanced, flavorful, and dangerously easy to sip. The guy knows his whiskey, knows his cocktails, and somehow still manages to make everyone at the bar feel like they're his only customer. The whiskey selection is enough to make a bourbon nerd lose all sense of financial responsibility, but surprisingly, we escaped without needing to refinance the house. If Josh doesn't own Seven Grand, someone should probably look into fixing that. Until then, I'll keep showing up to "try just one drink"... knowing full well that's a lie I tell myself every single time. Highly recommend. Just don't blame me when two hours mysteriously disappear.

Sure you should. So I had the time to drive 20+ minutes from work to get to the northside to try out the Little Wolf's burger bar located inside the establishment and called the "Flip & Howl Burger Kitchen." (Don't ask me why.) I made the drive mainly because I'd asked AI where some of the best burgers were in Denver area and one of the answers (when I asked for "quality ingredients") was "Little Wolf/Flip & Howl Burger Kitchen." Made the drive for the Durango-sourced Colorado Wagyu beef/cheese burger that cost just a bit more than $10 a pop. Rating right up at almost a perfect 5 stars, the drive was worth it. And what made it so great? Not just the burger, but because as soon as I walked in the proprietor's first words were, "Want an ice cream cone on us?" While I thought it must have been because of my stylish aplomb and in-command presence . . . turns out everyone gets the same offer. (What a great marketing idea:). Took my burger, which by the way, tasted great, but of course ate my soft ice cream teaser cone first. Turned out to be a fine idea. End result? When you're looking for a great place for a blue-collar burger at an extremely reasonable price be sure to make the drive to the northside to give Little Wolf's a bite.
