Our waitress not so much, I'm a server too and my standards are pretty low because I know what the restaurant industry is like, but they were not busy, I saw her refilling other tables coffee and ignoring us, and seemed bothered when I asked for a refill, might go back but if you don't like your job, don't do it

I really wanted to like this restaurant. Their weekend breakfast buffet is small but has a nice…read morevariety of homemade food and is served until noon. We went a few Sundays in the late spring and had a good experience. When Knoebel's opened, the experience went downhill. We drew the line when we went in on a Sunday where large groups were present, and they apparently had no clue on buffet etiquette, or just didn't care. Cleanliness and food safety are huge to me after I got horrible food poisoning at another buffet in the area and spent 4 days in the ICU with it. While the buffet area itself was clean and the food was to temperature, there were many patrons taking dirty plates back up. We notified our server who just looked at us and kind-of shrugged and walked away. My husband approached one of them and said, "Please don't keep taking dirty plates back up to the buffet.". One of them chastised him and told him he was "nuts" and that he was lying that it's not OK to do that. Plates are not at the buffet - the server brings them, and will bring two sets at the beginning, and then will replenish when needed. When we left, we informed another server that it was gross to do that and they're opening themselves up for issues if the health department stopped by, she asked why we didn't say anything. We said that we did but the server didn't seem to care. She yelled "I care!" from behind a door, but that was enough for us to opt to not return until Knoebel's was closed for the year. We suggested that they consider keeping the plates at the buffet area to discourage that. We decided to try again recently. Not only was there a large group there taking their dirty plates back up, but they were also taking dirty utensils up and using them. I was 3/4 through my plate when I saw that and refused to eat any more. My husband again said something to them, and they just pretended as if he didn't hear. We again said something to the server and suggested that they need to put signs up saying to not take dirty plates back up, or again to put plates at the buffet, but I'm fairly confident nothing will be done. There are other reviews out there that bring up questions of cleanliness, which is concerning. Unsure whether we'll try to return or not. At 10 am, much of the hot side of the buffet was empty, and not restocked while we were there, which is another strike.

I stumbled across The Farmer's Table last night on yelp, and perused through the breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. I was intrigued! So tonight, I took a trip to Blossburg, and was impressed by the restaurant's cleanliness, the friendly staff, and the atmosphere that I would describe as modern farm- chic. The food- fresh and delicious! There were several options on the menu....it was difficult to decide! I went with the almond, cranberry, grilled chicken salad with a balsamic vinaigrette- the dish that initially caught my eye. My guest ordered a ribeye steak and was impressed by its taste and overall quality! If you are passing through Blossburg, or simply wish to support a small business, please stop by The Farmer's Table and give it a taste!

This is not going to be an easy review to write. I have so many conflicting thoughts and…read morefeelings... reviewing a restaurant should never be this dramatic! Seriously though... speaking as someone who was a partner in two restaurants in NYC for 4 years, who does not claim to "know it all" but knows some tricks of the trade... I think they've got great potential and would like to share my thoughts with them. Saying they've "got potential" probably come across as smug, obnoxious, and ridiculous, especially because they've got like 4.6 stars here on Yelp! And that's mainly why I found myself here... Staying in Mansfield for the night, I looked up restaurants that were enroute to our hotel. Some of them had 3 or 3.5 stars and I said "no way." But 4.6 stars with as many reviews as The Farmer's Table has? Absolutely! The atmosphere is a little bit diner but cozy enough and has the farm as a theme. There are some cool design elements, like the steel ceiling, the tables... The bathroom was clean and well stocked, and that's a really good sign that the place is sanitary and organized. The waitress was really, really nice... and we loved that we were in this tiny little town and yet she had this really cool, funky image. Great fingernails! I'm jealous! A tip for her to make service even better... think about sequence of service. Think about the extras that the customer will want with the specific thing they ordered so that they won't have to bother you. If they order something with fries, definitely put ketchup on their table, and do it before the food is delivered. There were also a lot of empty tables with salt shakers, but it's had none. Some customers notice these little things and appreciate a server who anticipates their needs. On the other hand, maybe she was just really slammed busy before we got there. My wife and I waited like 2 minutes for her to take my order and she apologized profusely for having us wait so long for her. I was like, "am I in Manhattan or wut???" She was on point, generally easy to find when we needed her, she was never trying to hide from customers (a huge no-no) and very well-intentioned. Definitely a keeper. The food though... I was surprised we didn't like it very much being the reviews were so good. When I got the check to pay, I asked the server what their most beloved and popular dishes are. She said that ppl order a lot of the prime rib sandwich, and also the cat fish. Incidentally, I had ordered the prime rib sandwich, and my wife had the breaded cat fish. I was expecting a lot more meat on my sandwich, and the bun was just a regular burger bun, but it was ok. It came with 3 slices of pickle and cost $11.90. I was still hungry after that so I finished my wife's catfish 'cuz she gets full easily. I liked the catfish more, but neither of us thought it was anything special. What was special were the prices. The catfish included 2 sides, and it cost less than $14. Being from NYC, it was so refreshing to see pricing that reminded me of year 2000! A burger for $7.85 that's not Burger King? Incredible! But the cole slaw... ewww. I didn't hate it, but I kind of forced myself to eat it even though it had a strange flavor. The sweet potato fries were ok. Everything was basically O.K. I imagine that, if I lived there, I would go pretty regularly cuz it's probably the best thing the neighborhood has in a few square miles, and it's easier and more fun than cooking at home (if you're not a cook and you're busy at work). But I think that some improvement in the food could make the place more of a destination. And a destination could actually bring more business to the surrounding businesses! I can understand if the townspeople want very basic food there, but at least offer a few specials that are fancier, better ingredients, something that stands out and is memorable. I know I'm spoiled coming from NYC... a 4.6 star review in places like Manhattan are different than a 4.6 star review in a small town. But this place has some nice things about it. Take it all the way!

I had the vegetable omelette and absolutely loved it. You'd think an omelette would be hard to mess up, but I've definitely had some disappointing ones before -- this one was flavorful, fresh, and cooked perfectly. They also offer call-ahead seating, which I highly recommend. We called on our way there and were seated immediately upon arrival. The service was outstanding. Everyone works together as a team, so we had different people taking our order, bringing out food, and checking on us throughout the meal. It made for such a smooth and welcoming experience. I definitely recommend stopping by Grams if you're looking for a really great breakfast spot!

They try to turn tables over quickly so don't expect the wait staff to be patient with you. Most of the wait staff are in their late teens and have not fully mastered the art of etiquette yet. Our food came out relatively quickly and all but one dish came out at the same time. My daughter's pancakes came out about 5 minutes after our food. Not horrible. The waitress did not check on us one time but one of the other wait staff came and refilled our coffee. The food all came out exactly as ordered and tasted great. Although they told us to take our time originally they seemed to want to rush us out. As is normal, one of the wait staff came over and asked if they could take any dishes that we were done with. This doesn't bother me at all as it declutters the table. Unfortunately, one of the people in our party didn't appreciate the wait staff reaching across her to grab a plate. They also bring you the receipt to the table so you can pay and then if you don't pay fast enough they bring an iPad to the table. Overall I had a fine experience. The food was good, the wait staff was adequate and the price was not crazy. For five meals, a $5 orange juice that someone ordered that they didn't like, one cold brew and two regular coffees came to $124 with a 20% tip.

We arrived just at the perfect time when there wasn't a crowd. When we placed our order, and sat down, every seat was taken, including the outdoor space, and people were waiting to sit. I really wanted the autumn hash, but they were out of it. I went with the omelet, without cheese. It came with potatoes, which were delicious. My mom had the classic breakfast and enjoyed the homemade jam. I tasted a bit, and also liked it. The coffee here was also superb. What I liked most was this place seemed to be farm to table. There was a sign listing out all of their local partners. You order at the counter, sit, and then your food is brought to you. Parking is a little tricky. We were there on a Saturday. My mom went inside and asked where to park, and we were told we could park two parking lots down at the Thai restaurant, as they were closed currently. Don't park in the Dollar General next door.

The Sawhorse Cafe, Williamsport Pa…read more The breakfasts are pretty good, as is the coffee. I'd say a 5 or possibly 6 out of 10. The space is small and cramped, with an unfriendly "woke" vibe. I've gone there on and off for a few years hoping the vibe might change to be more welcoming, but It hasn't. The last time I was there, I brought my wife for a relaxing breakfast together. There was one table left. I put my phone on the table and got in line to order our food, so when the food comes up we aren't standing there holding our food trying to eat standing up. The two girls in line in front of us waiting to order did the same exact thing, as their 2 purses were on a table and were in front of me in line, as did another man that I know was in line with his hat on a table. However, they decided to humiliate and embarrass us, telling us to take our things off the table and order first before taking a table. Even though we've done it many times before and most people do. We unfortunately were their petty examples of the day. We got out of line and left and spent our money at another breakfast spot that is equally as good or better, without the stress, humiliation and woke attitudes. We will never be back to The Sawhorse Cafe in Williamsport Pa, and I will be sure to tell my circle of friends about my unpleasant experience so they can too decide if they want to eat there. Maybe with less people coming in, we can help your seating dilemma.
