    Italian cookies.

My daughter is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. She is nearly 12 and had never had a proper doughnut before coming to Schuyler Bakery. To be able to walk into a place where she could safely eat anything is an amazing feeling. We bought a dozen doughnuts and a pound of mini cookies and got out of there for $25. Service was great, price was unbeatable and the fact that my daughter can eat anything in the store is the absolute best.

Schuyler Bakery pull apart (20) cupcake cake

I was searching for a pull apart cupcake cake to no avail. I called BJs & Walmart bakeries several times but no one ever picked up nor was I transferred to the main number. I called Schuyler Bakery and they said "no problem" plus I could pick it up the next day! They did a beautiful job - exactly what I wanted. Everyone loved it especially "Kathy"!

Schuyler Bakery has been my go-to for Paska for maybe the last 10 years. I used to make my own, but I've never been able to achieve the consistency of lightness that I've come to rely upon with their bread. Every Easter and Christmas I go to pick up a small Paska ($5) and one each of their Prune, Poppy Seed, and Cheese coffee cakes ($5 each). These coffee cakes are huge and delicious. I will typically freeze half of each coffee cake since there is always so much for just three of us to eat at Christmas and Easter meals that half of three coffee cakes will last a week. It's also important to keep in mind that the couple of days before each of these holidays the bakery will have lots of customers. Sometimes there is a line out the door.

Amazing chocolate birthday cake! They are artists!

We absolutely love this bakery and the people who work here. Had a perfect experience with the team. We were coming into town and need a special cake for a very special occasion. They performed perfectly. Couldn't be happier. Their Italian cookies are world class as well. Lastly, their people are incredibly nice and capable. I wish this bakery was in my neighborhood at home.

This place has been here forever! I grew up with my family getting cakes from here for many birthdays. I personally don't like traditional cakes, but my family always raved about the frosting. I'm more of a cheesecake or ice cream cake person. While visiting home, I was interested in checking out Schuyler. I have nut allergies/sensitivities, so I thought it was great that they don't use peanuts. The interior and exterior of this place doesn't seem to have changed one bit over the years. It's quite drab, but don't worry they have tasty baked goods. My friend and I picked up an assortment of cookies, donuts and also a lemon bar. I tried the fudge drop cookies and the Easter sugar cookies. I didn't partake in the donut debauchery. I was especially impressed by how great the lemon bar tasted, I don't usually eat that particular type of fruit very often. The cookies were basic, but good. I would say the quality of the items was similar to the more upscale Bella Napoli in Latham. Bella has a nicer interior and the items are much more beautifully displayed. Beware of the lines here around holidays like Christmas and Easter. It might be wise to see if you can place your order in advance. I would say the prices here are fair.

It was an awesome bakery. Old style but well worth a visit. Offered many donuts with pumpkin and apple cider donuts for the season.

I don't remember when I had a more perfect chocolate cupcake, each time I've come here, the quality and service are perfect! Consistency and good service is what I look for. The attention to detail, hospitality, and kindness from Christian, the young man who works there, is exceptional. As I wrote before, the bakery shares the parking lot with the Yemeni coffee shop Shibam next door. The Yemeni coffee is just perfect with Sweet Elevation's treats, so don't miss this spot if you visit next door. I hope they can work out on doing something together. I've gotten hooked on Sweet Elevation's chocolate cupcakes. I'm having one as I write this review (these really are the freshest and best chocolate cupcakes) with some Yemeni coffee from next door - who knew how perfectly they go together. I'm very picky when it comes to cupcakes, and these are so soft, fresh, moist, fluffy, with perfect frosting with the sprinkles! Each time! It's really cute inside the cafe. What I'm most picky about is service, and I'm impressed with Christian, he's a respectful gentleman, knowledgeable, and really helpful with recommendations. Responsible, helpful, paying attention, intelligent. People my age often complain about the younger generation, they should meet Christian, our world's future is bright with young people like this. Good luck whatever you do Christian, and may you continue to shine as you do now always! Amen!

The sitting space if I'm being honest is kind of tight with chairs backed up against the display divider for the line/counter ordering area. The benches up against the wall opposite counter are beautiful and force good posture. There were also some window spots I'd definitely aim for next time. The counter person was delightful no complaints. Explained the drinks and didn't rush us. We came later morning on Saturday, most of the bakery items were sold out. But what we got was amazing, a nice mixture of scones, perfection. I appreciated the mixture of small morsels, it included flavors that I would not have tried otherwise. I got a cream brûlée latte as suggested classic with a hint of sweetness, standard with double shot of espresso. My wife got a mocha variety definitely much richer. The art on top was also a nice highlight. As other reviews mentioned prices were not listed but this is definitely a specialty place so expect a higher price than a pump your own coffee express station. But also I rather give my money to a local place than a huge mass marketed place thats serving half the quality.

My wife and I stopped in on a warm winter morning and got a few baked goods and two drinks to try. I had a rosemary vanilla latte and chocolate pistachio sourdough bun. She had a masala chai, and olive/feta/rosemary focaccia. We started with the bun & focaccia. The bun pulled apart nicely and had the subtlest hint of sourdough. The chocolate wasn't overpowering and matched the pistachio flavor nicely. It was a bit messy but delicious nonetheless. The bun was deliciously moist in the middle which was my favorite part. The focaccia was thick and full of flavor. Personally not being a huge fan of olives, I think the chunks of olive were a bit too large for my taste, but that's personal preference. I won't take points off for that. The drinks came out after a few minutes. The latte that I got had some nice art on top, and the rosemary taste was very pleasant. The chai was also quite nice, I like the taste of masala as well. My wife got oat-milk with it which gave a nice nutty flavor to it. Staff was very pleasant, as well! I haven't been to this original location on 4th St. in Troy for a few years. The family operation is nearly 100 years old. Remarkably, it's very much as I remember it. A tiny place with three tables. Some of the seating looks like repurposed church pews. The youthful staff, friendly as always. They were running into some delays as orders came pouring in just before dinnertime. They'd have to check to see if they could fit our order for a big pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, onions and peppers. They squeezed us in! Since the wait would be between 20-30 minutes we kept ourselves busy by checking out the desserts in the self serve refrigerator. I picked out a slice of "hangover" (alcohol) cake and I devoured it before our meal arrived. It was so delicious and naughty fun to eat our dessert before the meal. The pizza was fantastic when it arrived. I prefer crisp crusts-- this one was not-- but it was awesome just the same. My friend and I were so hungry that we consumed half of the pie before I realized that we hadn't photographed our delicious pizza. The remaining half was boxed and taken home to be enjoyed for a couple more days. The staff was so ready. They came to our table with the box and we settled up our bill. A lot to be said for tradition and quality. I've also visited DeFazio's in Albany, but I have yet to visit the relatively new restaurant up the block. Thanks, DeFazio's, for another great meal.
