    Some gluten free offerings.

This review is for the bakery's new location at 356 Troy Schenectady Road, Latham, NY 12110. Sweet Elevation is a very appropriate name for this bakery. Many of the offerings in the cases are not only sweet but also a level above the typical baked goods found at other bakeries. Yes, they have cookies, cupcakes, and muffins. But they also offer fresh filled cannoli, macarons, cake pops, brownies, and more. Ever heard of Knafeh (Dubai Bar)? Neither had I, but we tried one filled with a pistachio crème, and it was absolutely luscious. So were the macaron, the millionaire bar, the lemon bar, the almond tart with raspberry, the OMG bar, and a few other things that I don't recall the names of. Everything we purchased was very fresh. They do offer some items that are gluten free. While I did see a pot of coffee brewing behind the cases, the indoor area is not conducive to sitting down and relaxing. It did appear that there were some stacked chairs set aside for use on a patio during warm weather. We chose to take our purchases home to enjoy. Check out the photos on their website gallery for examples of what they are capable of creating for special occasion cakes and cookies. Staff was very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly.

We got the weekly specials that were absolutely delicious. If they weren't 700 calories a cookies I would eat them more often. If you want something special outside of the normal cakes. I didn't find them outrageously exciting, so I never went out of my way to buy some. Upon leaving Fresh Market in Latham today my wife had a craving to try the Crumbl store there. I don't think she had ever tasted a Crumbl cookie. Upon entering we found ourselves in close proximity to a counter displaying the variety of cookies available today. There were also four computer stations where you could place your order and pay. Having chosen credit/debit card as our means of payment we did not notice on the screen whether cash was an option. However, I do recall a notice taped to the table alongside the display cookies stating that no bills larger than $20 would be accepted. The back of the store was wide open to see and it looked clean with large storage units, commercial dough mixers, and multiple ovens and storage units for the finished cookies. There were two employees to answer any questions and fill the orders being placed. It appeared to be a very efficient operation. Once we placed our order we were out with our cookies in about five minutes. Our choices were: Pink Sugar Cookie Brownie Batter Cookie Cinnamon Roll Cookie Peanut Butter Cookie w/ Reese's Pieces We agreed that we liked the cinnamon roll and peanut butter cookies the best of the four. Those two were similar in that they had crisp edges and soft centers. In fact, the centers seemed to look barely cooked yet tasted finished. The flavor of each was exactly what you would expect, and the peanut butter cookie was the less sweet of the two. The brownie and sugar cookies were our least favorite. The sugar cookie was exceptionally sweet with its pink icing. This cookie also had a consistency of cake. It lacked that crisp edge of the two previous cookies and the center was, like the edge, a piece of cake again. The brownie batter cookie was hard around the edges, none of that crispness, just hard crunch. And the center was fully crisped. This might make sense since it had pieces of chocolate in it, and even an attempt of a few seconds in the microwave didn't seem to help much. Overall, many home baked cookies I've had are so much more to my liking. Crumbl cookies are overly sweet for my taste. If I don't want to go through the trouble of making cookies at home I'll stick to Fresh Market's raspberry or almond pillow cookies and Market 32's cranberry nut gourmet cookies.

I placed an order at the counter to eat in, an egg everything bagel with scallion cream cheese, untoasted, and a side of home fries. It was only $7, which felt like a steal once it was placed in front of me. I was really happy they offered an egg everything bagel because they have been a favorite lately. The bagel was really good, a little average, but very enjoyable. I appreciated the thick schemer of cream cheese, and it tasted like they mixed it up in house. The side of home fries was massive! They were nice and soft but still crispy on the edges, I added some salt pepper and hot sauce at the table and they were perfect. They offer a ton of different breakfast and lunch options. I will definitely come back to try something else. This location is very convenient, especially with all of the doctor's offices near by.
