Great Local Fishing Advice (and the Friendliest Shop Cats!)" Fishing is one of my favorite hobbies, and whenever I travel, I try to stop by local tackle shops. It's always the best way to learn about the area and find the real local fishing spots. Fishing the White River had been on my list for a while, and I finally had the chance to check it out. A local bait shop recommended Schwartz's Bait & Tackle for purchasing a fishing license and getting advice on where to fish. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the shop's welcoming committee Skipper and Smokey Joe, two very friendly cats that the owner rescued. I later learned that Skipper recently needed surgery and the local community raised the funds in just a week. That kind of support says a lot about both the shop and the community around it. Mason and Jacob were fantastic. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about fishing. They took the time to talk about equipment, bait, tackle, and the ins and outs of the local fishing spots around the White River. It's the kind of place where you can walk in with questions and leave with real advice, not just gear. They also mentioned they'll be offering guided fishing trips this summer, which sounds like a great option for anyone wanting to learn the area or improve their fishing skills. The shop itself has a great selection of fishing gear, bait, and tackle, and the whole place has a laid-back, welcoming vibe. If you're planning to fish the White River, this is definitely a place worth stopping by. i rented a u-haul here. i had scheduled it for mobile pick up but had to go in. they were the nicest people i've ever encountered. like genuinely kind. it was fast and efficient. i will be back for another rental or maybe some bait and tackle lol read more

A nice, local fishing shack that may not look like much on the outside, but a outdoor heaven on the inside. I don't go too often, but I want to go there more. The employees are friendly, and the prices are very reasonable for lures and bait. I like it there, and I love how it's just a nice, simple place. Do not rent a cruise RV from this company. When we first picked up our unit they had WiFi issues and had to do everything by hand which was fine. The gentleman that helped us seemed frustrated and annoyed by the WiFi issues and the fact that it was raining. I figured it was just a bad day and gave the benefit of the doubt. He asked if we would be using water while using the RV, I told him we would need access to water and the bathroom. He explained that he needed to reopen and close certain valves to make that possible. While on our trip we hooked everything up at or first camp and noticed the hot water would not work. We called the customer service number and they said they would help us sort it out. They could not find anyone in the area to fix the issue and said to call back the following day. The next day when we called we also explained that we could not get our black water valve to open and needed to empty the tank. We called the customer service again and they instructed us to use a heater (hair dryer) to unstick the valve. It seemed to work but our black water tank would never empty fully. They said they would note our account. After six days we never had hot water and could never fully empty our black water tank. When we returned our unit I mentioned this to him. He was again, very annoyed and just generally seemed inconvenienced. He opened up our cap to the sewer and obviously a mess came out. I'm unsure as to why he even opened it after I explained to him that it was not working properly and it said the tank was still full after emptying it this morning. After everything was unloaded and us going back and forth with the issues we had they said they would instead not charge us the $25 dumping fee or the $35 winterization fee, which I didn't even know we would be charged for anyways. We decided to just leave it alone. Before we left we felt bad for the kid who would have to deal with the cleanup and I went inside to offer him $20. He refused, which was fine. The issue that annoyed me was the owner and her comments. She told me with a rude attitude, that he didn't need to clean it because they have another company take care of that. I then said, "oh okay, well that does take a little bit of the load off of him." To which she replied, "not really, cuz I still gotta pay for them to do it." Then she just continues on with the conversation she was having with another customer. This place is seriously unprofessional and not customer service oriented in the least. I do not recommend them to anyone for renting Cruise America, I cannot speak to anything else they sell but judging by their attitudes I'm not sure it would be a much different experience. read more

Poor service/Overcharged! Cesar and Connor were extremely smug. I was overcharged for a U-Haul rental and when I presented evidence to the contrary they blew me off - they simply said it's all automated and that I was done. My charges were over double with little to no explanation. Horrible experience, some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Unless you just need some basic fishing supplies, I highly suggest staying away from this business. read more

I just want to say I have never rented an RV from this place. But this business has its main purpose as a bait shop. I'm not sure why this place has a couple 1 stars I have always loved this place. It's the greatest bait shop in central Indiana by far! Most of the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. They have everything you need for bait and tackle. This place is great. The people who work here are so friendly and helpful. If you need U-Haul equipment this is the place to go! They offered to help my adolescent load things into our car and were just down to earth good people. We will continue to come here for our U-Haul and other needs. read more
