Although their bids were similar, we weren't happy with the prep work we had to do or what they wanted to charge for it. We are in our late 70's. We visited Flooring Creations, talked to both Gus Sr. and Gus Jr. We got a bid that included everything we needed done and was financially reasonable. We were on a limited time schedule and they were great about working within that time frame. The installers they referred us to were on time, neat, and did a great job. When you find a family owned local company that makes you feel like your job is important, works with you, and does a good job you go back. I would totally recommend SD Flooring Creations.

This is a family run company and we worked with Gus Jr. He was thorough in his explanations, patient, and answered our questions. They have been in the business for a long time and Gus intends continue the business well into the future. I feel confident that if I have questions in the future, he will be there to answer them. I would definitely recommend giving them your business. As for the installation team, (who are not employed by Gus but they have been working together, hand in glove for many years and are an excellent partnership), they were considerate of my home and my family, polite, courteous as well as very professional. They come in ready to work and they work continuously while on the job site. They clean up as they go and do a final clean up. They even went the extra mile to help us find a handyman to fix an issue with the stairs so the entire job would be finished as planned. THANK YOU!! Oh, and ladies, if your family has put you in charge of getting this job done and you act like the one in charge, this team treats you with the respect expected and defers to you when they have questions or need to tell you something. There are SO many more good things to say and note about the experience. Please consider including them in your research for your project.

Then my designer and I met and chose the best flooring for my home.... It was not from Floor Store and Design. However Josh said he could get it for me... and he could get it at a better price. He did just that. He even delivered a sample to my home so we could compare to the sample I had picked up elsewhere... and Floor Store and Design price was lower! What surprised me about working with Josh and Door Store and Design? I thought Josh was a salesman.. He was much more than that. He was hands on in working out details of installation. One example: I found a baseboard I liked at another place, and Josh was able to order that for me at same price as offerings at his store. He also made a personal visit at end of work to check details before I made the final payment. I also had new doors installed, and Josh coordinated work with the door contractor for smoothest completion of floors, doors and baseboards installation. It was important to me to work with a full service floor store to ensure best results. The installation team Josh sent was professional, efficient, and did a great job! Floor installer Jonathon and team were great ... always showing up on time, cleaning as they went, and were friendly and easy to have around. Most important.. they were perfectionists in their work. I learned that Jonathon had learned the trade from his father and is now working with/training his brothers. Shortly after it came in, they called and asked if they could install it on a Saturday. I said "sure". Their guys showed up, moved my furniture out of the way, and got to installing the new carpet. They did a nice professional job, and hauled away the old carpet for recycling. Very straightforward process throughout. The price was better than I expected for a high quality brand of carpet too.

I had a very disappointing experience with Shugarman's Bath Company…read more I first met their representatives at a local festival, where they advertised that they would provide a completely free bathroom design if I agreed to a home consultation and listened to their sales presentation. I specifically explained that I was interested in a full bathroom remodel, not just a shower replacement. Based on those representations, I agreed to schedule an appointment. When the salesperson arrived at my home, I was surprised to learn that the company only focuses on showers and does not provide complete bathroom remodels or custom bathroom designs as I had been led to believe. Despite realizing early in the appointment that their services did not match what I was looking for, I still sat through the sales presentation because I understood the salesperson was giving up his time to be there. The presentation lasted approximately an hour and a half. At the end, I was given a very expensive proposal, but no picture of how the shower would look like. When I followed up and requested to receive a picture of how the of the shower would look like as I was promised, I was told that they do not provide designs and that I should simply look at photos on their website (this statement came directly from Mr. Jones who was the lead design team. This was completely different from what was presented to me when I agreed to the appointment. I felt the advertising was misleading and that the primary goal was simply to get a salesperson into my home rather than provide the service that had been promised. I was also told that I could receive a discount if I left a positive review, which made me question the authenticity of some of the company's online reviews. Additionally, I was offered what was presented as a "free vacation" if I agreed to move forward with their proposal. However, as the details were explained, it became apparent that this was not truly a free vacation but rather a promotional offer tied to a timeshare-style presentation. This felt like another example of marketing that was not fully transparent upfront. Throughout the appointment, I felt significant pressure to decide on the spot. The overall experience reminded me of a high-pressure car dealership sales environment, where the focus seemed to be on getting a signed contract rather than understanding my needs and providing the services that had originally been promised. I believe companies should be transparent about the services they offer and should honor the commitments made to potential customers. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

They were on time every day--sometimes even early--and never rushed the process, making sure everything was exactly to our liking. Some of our materials arrived later than expected, but Elias stayed on top of it and continued following up with the company. As soon as the materials arrived, they finished our stairs right away, even though they already had another job scheduled. I also really appreciated that Elias personally stopped by to make sure we were happy with the work. We want to thank the entire team for their hard work--especially Rafael, Jason, and Damian. First of all let me tell how refreshing it was to find a carpet cleaning company that did not try to scam and upsale me from the moment they got on the phone. I recently moved out of my apartment after 3 years and I admit, I had not had the carpets cleaned and they were looking horrible. The Property Manager was telling me that they would have to replace it and I would be charged from my deposit. I called Star Carpet and they came out and did magic. The technician was friendly, informative and worked his tail off to get my carpets cleaned. When he was finished they looked like they did the day I moved in. I would call these guys in a second. They have been in business in San Diego for over 20 years. Most of these companies are in and out of business in less than a year. I recently bought a short sale home that was in need of new carpet upstairs and hardwood downstairs. After a lot of searching for a quality flooring company at a good price I found Star Carpet. The owner, Salam, was very knowledgeable and helpful. He personally helped me pick out my floors which turned out beautifully. The installers were professional and took pride in the quality of their work. They were able to save the oak hardwood floors by sanding and staining them to match the new floor installed downstairs. This is the third time that we have used them to install carpeting in our homes. Each experience has been better than the last. Their installers do beautiful work. I have never once felt ambivalent about having any member of their crew in my home. They are respectful of both me and my property. I have a three bedroom house with 4 kids! Not to mention my husband and family dog. Needless to say, lots and lots of foot traffic... Star Carpet came in and completely made my house feel like I had just installed new carpet! They were very professional and had great pricing. The Tech was courteous and the carpet was quick to dry. Excellent work! Salam and his Crew did porcelain planks for us and remodeled our bathroom. We got multiple quotes and they were in the middle. I Don't take the highest or the lowest but you get what you pay for when it comes to home remodel projects so I never take the lowest. Star was in the middle in terms of price. Do not give this company your business. The people in their office were only courteous during the estimate until my rug was in their care. They then "forgot to clean my rug" for several days and it was returned later than the date promised. The receptionists were very misleading about what was actually going on. I should have asked her first, however I did have the advantage of finding and bringing home 25+ flooring samples before visiting Floor Store and Design-Point Loma. Then my designer and I met and chose the best flooring for my home.... It was not from Floor Store and Design. However Josh said he could get it for me... and he could get it at a better price. He did just that. He even delivered a sample to my home so we could compare to the sample I had picked up elsewhere... and Floor Store and Design price was lower! What surprised me about working with Josh and Door Store and Design? I thought Josh was a salesman.. He was much more than that. He was hands on in working out details of installation. One example: I found a baseboard I liked at another place, and Josh was able to order that for me at same price as offerings at his store. He also made a personal visit at end of work to check details before I made the final payment. I also had new doors installed, and Josh coordinated work with the door contractor for smoothest completion of floors, doors and baseboards installation. It was important to me to work with a full service floor store to ensure best results. The installation team Josh sent was professional, efficient, and did a great job! Floor installer Jonathon and team were great ... always showing up on time, cleaning as they went, and were friendly and easy to have around. Most important.. they were perfectionists in their work. I learned that Jonathon had learned the trade from his father and is now working with/training his brothers. Josh's installers obviously take great pride in their work and Josh also takes great pride in managing Floor Store and Decor-Point Loma.

It was a great experience from start to finish. Frank was super professional and friendly. They were able to schedule the job as soon as the wood was delivered. From start to finish, the job took four days. Zero problems. Cornelio and his crew moved all big furniture for us, which was great. They also put the furniture back and cleaned up after. The floors look fantastic, and there was very little disruption in our lives. I couldn't be happier with the entire process and results. Kudos for a job well done. Frank was very helpful, he came to my house and measured the rooms for carpet. I went to the showroom and picked out new carpet, with the help of a nice guy, forget his name. Two men showed up to install the new carpet. They moved all my furniture, installed the new carpet, put all the furniture back and took away all the old carpet. They were very nice, respectful and caring. If I ever need carpet again I will definitely call Ultimate Luxe Design.

He gave me some sample books to take home and I picked something out after a couple of days. I placed an order for my carpet over the phone and they got it ordered right away. Shortly after it came in, they called and asked if they could install it on a Saturday. I said "sure". Their guys showed up, moved my furniture out of the way, and got to installing the new carpet. They did a nice professional job, and hauled away the old carpet for recycling. Very straightforward process throughout. The price was better than I expected for a high quality brand of carpet too.

This is a family run company and we worked with Gus Jr. He was thorough in his explanations, patient, and answered our questions. As for the installation team, (who are not employed by Gus but they have been working together, hand in glove for many years and are an excellent partnership), they were considerate of my home and my family, polite, courteous as well as very professional. They even went the extra mile to help us find a handyman to fix an issue with the stairs so the entire job would be finished as planned. THANK YOU!!
