Just to let you know, the staff at Scioto was very friendly and helpful to me from the minute I walked in. I explained what I wanted and what was important to me and the sales guy gave me a bunch of advise and helped educate me as to what he had on the floor and why they sold them. I liked a certain tub for the features and price range. It got delivered within the time frame it was promised, and the install guys were friendly and helpful as well! I don't make big purchases like this often, so I was a bit nervous about how it would all come together, but things all fell into place nicely and I couldn't have expected it to go any better! This review is for the PARTS DEPT.... I had ordered some head rest and Bullfrog made a mistake that cost Scioto Valley and thats to bad but was all on Bullfrog. Howard had the right part # , Right Hot Tub , Verified with Serial Number and they still sent the wrong ones. Thats where Howard stepped in and ordered head rest for an A series and they fit Perfect. Problem is I have a R series Hot Tub . Our pool was installed 7 years ago. It wasn't until now that I found out the installation was half done. It started with the bracket showing on the bottom thru the liner. You could feel them on your feet. Then the pool went empty. I got a hold of a guy to put the new liner in and he said where's the cove for the bottom. Well guess they did not install a cove. That caused the bottom to expand over time. Then move the sand which caused the bracket to cut into my liner. This will cost me $2500 because of their laziness. read more

He never pressured us and he was always available to answer questions and guide us in the direction we wanted to go. Avoid this place at all cost! Their customer service is horrible. I should've trusted the 2 star average review before deciding to purchase a hot tub here. We we quoted 4-6 weeks lead time which then turned into 8 weeks with no proactive follow up. When I called to confirm it was delivering to their store on the Monday, I was then told "probably early next week" and then that it would be 1-2 weeks additional for home delivery. They tell you what you want to hear to get the sale and then have zero sales support on the backend. Our sales rep was not properly trained and the store manager was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. The company culture here is horrible and definitely not a place with which I want to do business. We cancelled our hot tub order and are buying from their competitor around the corner (which in retrospect we should've done business with to start because their showroom and staff are much more professional). Google ratings have them at 4.8 stars, so I suspect they use a reputation service (AKA paid reviews) to whitewash their abysmal service. I went in this store with my daughter to buy pool supplies. so I wanted to look at pools and hot tubs. the floor rep showed me one hot tub and then walked away. so then I went near the cashier and stated a man was helping me then he walked off. they never asked to get somebody else no nothing . After a few people came in the store I watched them say" can I help you "? After awhile an employee came by. They tried to apologize and gave me a card. The manager was outstanding, answered all of our questions, was patient walking around as we looked at lots of different items. We purchased a Plank and Hearth pool table and were in and out in 45 mins at most! The installation crew JEFF and NANDITH were incredibly polite, helpful and efficient. They both listened to my thoughts on where to put it and all of my clueless questions. Sadly, you don't find this kind of service much anymore. Bought a spa from Scioto about 2 months ago, was delivered a month ago. There were some issues at first with delivery and the spa was leaking when we went to fill with water. These things happen to all of us, the customer service I received from Scioto is what I'm most impressed with. The came out to check the leak the same day, could not get a part right away so they took it off a floor model. We didn't get in the spa when we wanted but we're in it now and couldn't be happier. Scioto Valley has the poorest Service Department. We have been waiting over 4 months for an Ozonater for our Swimspa. Every time we call, we get the same runaround. This place discriminates against people with kids. This was our second time there with our kids, and not one salesperson would greet us. When I tried to approach, they would walk away or start talking with another associate. Their sales people made it obvious that they did not want us there. We were there on a Sunday afternoon to shop for home theater furniture. The place was not busy at all. In fact, 5 sales people were watching a baseball game. We waited over a half hour for a salesperson, and not one person would recognize we were there. I even commented that no one must want to sell anything in ear shot of the staff watching the baseball game. They looked at me, then went back to watching the game. Great discriminatory response. Again, this was the second time we were in the store. Both times were with our kids. They obviously didn't want to sell anything to a family. I found that the Palliser line that Scioto Valley carried was also sold at Front Line Furniture. Went down the road to Front Line and bought our furniture. We'll never go back, nor recommend anyone to go there. I'm in the process of emailing the home theater furniture vendors to notify them of the discrimination the store has shown us. read more

purchased a loveseat and couch floor model . we looked it over everything was fine. The salesman assured us that the next day he would reinspect it before it was delivered. We sold our existing furniture cheap to make room for the couch and loveseat. It got delivered today the love seat had a 3 inch rip on the front plus my wife said there was shoe prints all over the loveseat where they apparently had climbed all over it. I called Scioto Valley they said refuse it since it was a floor model they would not replace it.Now we have an empty room with no furniture and a spoiled birthday present for my wife. Definately not worth the drive to Hilliard. We saw the Ad all over media. 80% off end of season sale. TOTAL SCAM! Yes, they had like a few mismatched awful chairs and tables that were 80% off in this outside tent in back. Even inside they have a horrible selection of poor quality seasonal items that are way overpriced! The salesperson was annoying too. She had a face shield on with no mask and every time she spoke with us she lifted up her clear face shield . I think I was already annoyed by the false advertising of their marketing scheme of 80% OFF END Of Season Sale with tiny writing underneath (up to). And her lifting up her clear face shield to talk plus saying "you know you're sitting on the most expensive sectional in the store" is not a way to make a sale or connect with us as customers. We stopped by this afternoon after seeing an ad for 30% off patio umbrellas. When we started looking, we observed 6 employees standing around ignoring us. No one greeted us and or asked if we needed help. I eventually asked for help and a sales person approached. It turns out that the sale price was only applicable to black umbrellas from last year's season. The sales person was not friendly. We decided to leave and again no one thanked us or acknowledged our presence. I have had much better experiences with this business. However, today's visit was quite a disappointment. read more

I am SO disappointed!! Had to make 3 additional trips to the store, which is a 45 minute drive, because there were items missing. Our liner had a tear on the first day. we lost 1/2 of our water before we found it to patch so lost over 9000 gallons of water. They gave us a new liner. Then, the ladder that they gave us was the deck connection ladder so we had to use a regular house ladder to get out. When we went to get the liner, we inquired on the price of the "outside" ladder. A Salas man said it should have been in with the items. We inquired on a cost to purchase it but were told to go to the parts department to get one. We were treated like we were lying! Then, I've called for chemical help and was treated VERY rudely!! The cancellation of Pool School was the worst thing that they've done!! We are lost! read more

Drove over an hour today to purchase outdoor patio furniture from Scioto Valley. Walked all around the entire store with not one person welcoming us or asking if we could use help, but multiple employees watching us from afar (seemed very judgemental). When we were ready to leave they asked if we needed anything and we told them we'd been all around the store looking with not even one person acknowledging us and now it is too late. We were ready to spend some money but it didn't look like they wanted to take our money. Definitely would not recommend this business. Both times my family went there the sales team were very rude and unwelcoming. The first time this happened, we thought maybe we just caught them on a bad day. Thought nothing more about it. 2 years later we were back and looking for pool chemicals. The sales team were very unwelcoming and almost treated us like they thought we were going to steal something. They eyed us and followed us. When my wife tried to make small talk or smile at them, they just looked at her with this disapproving look like a principal would look at a child acting out. As a previous High End Luxury car salesperson I know a little about customer service and taking care of your client .I would have gave a 4 star rating based on having to wait 7 mo. for our BullFrog Hot tub but that was Not on Scioto Valley. Once the tub arrived they had it to my house in 2 days, sent a Great bunch of guys to unload and set up. Could not have been more happy with them. Being my 1st Hot tub I was not educated on the upkeep and set up. We watched you tube, read articles and my water just didn't look right. After 7 days I called and spoke with Mike Shope and he made plans to stop out the next day. Mike showed up, sat down with me and my wife and went over all the different chemicals, cleaners and preventive steps. It was 1st class knowledge and very educational to the point it made it EASY..Give this a few days and then follow these simple instructions and you will be Great...We did and NOW 4 weeks later after trying out this New Knowledge of Hot Tub care I can say without a doubt..HE KNOWS HIS STUFF.. Our pool installation has been a nightmare! They did not tell us anything. Just put in the pool and left. We are not sure how to put the ladder in due to missing parts, screws left in the yard and on edge of the pool, we just found a box stuffed with papers no one told us about. For the amount of money we paid I would think the customer service would be a bit better. They took the money quickly yet we went weeks without communication on installation and only received emails when I requested. It would have been nice to get an update without having to request one. I will confidently say I will never step foot in that store again. I'd rather drive three hours to get my chemicals. I hope no one else has to go through a nightmare like this. We have been looking for a hot tub for months, I went there looking to get some information, literature and prices, because the prices are not on line. When I asked for catalog, I was told that the prices change on a daily basis, hmm I did not know hot tubs have such a volatile market. But I could take picture of the all the posted prices. The sales person took the time to answer my question about cash and I was given a verbal price of 6500. for a bullfrog X7P if paid in full. The quote was $500.00 higher then two days later. What surprise me is the first sales person saw me yet he did not come over to talk with me. We just purchased an outdoor umbrella, we wanted one that will last more than 2 years without falling apart like the $300 umbrella from threshold we bought at Target. Delivery went well, your staff was very nice and a pleasure to work with. There service is one of the reason we came back to Scioto Valley. The worst experience ever! Once you buy your pool they support nothing, they don't tell you your warranty is with a third party company. The only way to get hold of these people is by email! No phone numbers, they have lost our invoice 3x after saying they received it. Our pool was put in last May and no support at all to take care of damage. Also they want a blank check to level your ground, nobody will come out to give estimates which basically leaves you bent over with your pants around your ankles until there done. What a nightmare ! First of all this place was extremely expensive. We wanted something nice so we were willing to pay the price. We told the salesman what we wanted which was a couch and recliner chair for our patio. He wrote it up and they delivered. The weather turned nice today and we went to sit in our recliner and it wasn't a recliner. The recliner was the only chair we sat in and the one we thought we purchased. Now they want to charge us $300 more for the recliner. I guess we are stuck with the chair and no recliner.
