Only awarding 2 stars because of their serviceman, Rusty (otherwise would have been just one star). He was excellent - efficient, helpful and fixed the issue with speed. Their service desk leaves little to desire, however. All I heard was how expensive it probably would be to fix the problem and felt like he was trying to talk me into just buying new. Thank goodness I didnt and that Rusty was able to get it done for under $400. The part that we ordered came in ahead of time, but we didnt get a call that it was in because - again the service desk help - the guy put our number in incorrectly (even after we wrote it down on the forms). Had I not called, there's no telling how long it would have sat there. Finally, their sales people have a tendency to just give you a 'nod' as they stroll by you and I can only assume it's because you dont look like you have enough money to shop there. We were looking to spend $4-5K on a new patio set but, after being ingored multiple times, decided to just give someone else our money. read more

Poor customer service. Rather than replace the damaged product their delivery guys were embarrassed to pull off the truck, they just refuse to do business with us. Over 7000$ and we either get a broken pool or nothing. read more

Honestly, I can't say enough good about my entire experience with Scioto Valley! When we walked into your showroom on February 10th we were greeted but not hounded. We were given details about your showroom floor and the different products. We were then left alone to look. Jason came and checked in on us periodically and answered our questions and demonstrated some things to verify what he was telling us. The negotiation process was painless and FAST!!! Jason was very accommodating with setting up delivery, allowing us to pick-up the disconnect the day of purchase so our electrician could begin the next day. We were notified on Tuesday that the hot tub would arrive after 3:30 pm on Wednesday the 12th. Michael called and let us know that they would be there to deliver between 4:15 and 4:30 that afternoon. That was great - we had almost an exact heads-up. Michael and his crew were courteous, careful and quick delivering the hot tub. They were also very informative. We did run into some troubles with the hot tub. Upon taking the front panel off to hook up the power, our electrician noticed that the wires to the pumps, lights and heater had been disconnected. We called in to let you know and Jason was so responsive (Jason even answered his cell on his day off to help!!!!!) We were given to the service department where Shanon took immediate care of us and scheduled Michael back to our house on Friday afternoon to look into the issue. Michael again, was very informative about what time he would be arriving on Friday the 14th. Michael hooked up the 'loose" wires and told us to call him if we had any other issues as we started to fill up the hot tub with water. Well, just our luck - we did have another issue. It was 8:30 pm on Valentine's night - in the middle of a snow storm and the tub would not come on and it was now full of 495 gallons of water with no heat. We had power - but the control panel was all dashes! We felt horrible but we called Michael. We asked if there was anything that he could walk us through. He told us no and that he was on his way. What a super hero he was! What a valuable employee! Michael found that pump #1 was bad and not running. He was able to get the second pump and the heater running so nothing froze on us. We are still waiting on a replacement pump but we know that you will take care of us once the new pump becomes available. Scioto Valley we have to commend you on the wonderful customer service that we have received. We also want to say that all of your employees that we have come in contact with value their company and their positions within your organization. They all take pride in their jobs and represent you well! Not many companies provide excellent customer service anymore but yours certainly does and we are so glad we chose you to do business with and will certainly be back in the future! read more

I love this place. We purchased our above ground pool here years ago. After a number of years we had a problem with the pool. The manufacturer had gone out of business but Scioto Valley made good on the warranty and made it right. Very professional. We buy our pool supplies here. Fun place to browse. I'm surprised about the low ratings on the previous reviews. My husband and I purchased a bar/bar stools/pub table 1 1/2 years ago. We had a great all around experience. Beginning with Michelle in sales-she was fantastic. Always available to answer questions via phone or e-mail and she always responded in a timely manner. Delivery-on schedule as promised. Delivery men were professional and set everything up carefully. Service/warranty-awesome! We had to contact Scioto Valley approx. 1 year after our purchase for a water spot that we could not remove from our bar top. Michelle requested a photo of the bar top and someone from service was sent to our home 1 week later for repair. No charge. I didn't expect that. Our experience at Scioto Valley was exceptional and I would recommend them to friends and family. read more

Dishonest. We will never do business with this company again. Bought fireplace parts from them. They told me they did not have installers and I would need to find somebody (which I did, professional plumber). I've know others that have purchased from here and were given the same story. When I confronted them they denied it and asked me why I didn't use their installers. They are NOW replacing the part that melted in our fireplace (AND ONE OF Sciota valley INSTALLERS HAS MAGICALLY APPEARED TO INSTALL IT THIS TIME). I hope after this is done we at least have a safe and working fireplace. Go anywhere else! **UPDATE: they do have installers, despite what they will tell you time of purchase. We purchased an above ground pool a year ago and paid for them to level the land and install. Upon breaking land, they dug too close to our two story deck and exposed the support beams which is pretty much unfixable. The pool liner had 33 wrinkles (that we counted) which should be flawless, but the BIGGEST flaw was that there was a hole in it and we were losing water. Due to it being the end of the season, they had promised to return in the spring to replace the liner and pay for new water haul. Due to unfortunate circumstances, we had to move from our property and called to see if we moved the newly installed pool to our new property, if they would still honor their promise. This company agreed and even offered us to use their contractors to help re-install the pool. This year we re-installed the pool. They sent a crew to put in the new liner that they owed us (who left cigarette butts all over our yard) and told us to send them a copy of the water hauling bill which totaled $850. We received a phone call from the head installer saying that he was not going to pay us the money and we didn't deserve the new liner that had been installed. This dirty company will take your money and run. My advice: Do business with a local hungry company who need satisfied clients to stay in business. Scioto Valley disgusts me. read more

My experience at Scioto Valley was really good. The sales person I had, Harold, was absolutely great to work with. I came to the store for 2 reasons, fireplaces and sun room furniture. He was so helpful in explaining the fireplaces and really was so knowledgeable that I cannot thank your store or him enough. It is tiresome shopping in stores and asking questions that the sales person cannot answer, but Harold was great and knew it all. As for the sun room furniture, you see I did purchase a great set of furniture. I took advantage of the labor day sale prices which allowed me to purchase quality furniture. During the transaction, Harold did misquote me the prices of two matching pillows, once investigating we found the tags did not match the sale tag. However since he quoted that price and I was purchasing the whole set, he stuck to his guns and charged me what he quoted. I appreciate that integrity and the fact that you trust your sales people to make judgement calls of that nature. I have already recommended your establishment to several of my coworkers and told them of the selection, quality and sales prices being offered. I will definitely shop there again! read more

They are also the owners of several online web stores, including: wholesalenow, tanningbedsnow, shopsciotovalley, fireplacesnow, gassgrillsnow. I tried to buy a $10,000 dollar BBQ Island/Firepit and accessories from this company. The salesman (Harold) was very hard to reach by email, even though they are an online sales company. It took over a week just to get the order moving forward. During that time, the delivery date for the equipment moved behind by half a month, but he never told me this could happen. This caused a total delay from order to delivery of 2 months. Not reasonable and he could have (and should have) easily told me this was a possibility and made a better effort to process the order. When I asked about canceling some of the order and keeping the expensive accessories, he left a message that he was going to cancel the whole order. A week later, he still hadn't actually canceled the order or reversed charges to my credit card account. This caused a huge delay in getting the $10,000 dollar credit back to my account. He was polite on the phone but very flaky and just didn't make a diligent effort to make this order happen. We'll be avoiding this business in the future. read more

I have had nothing but a good experience. I bought a brand new hot tub and as I was just thinking if I wanted to pay by cash or credit..they must of been thinking I was teetering on weather or not I was buying it and then the offers came......they threw in the hot tub with the radio. The cover and steps came free but they also upgraded my cover and waived the delivery fee and hauling fee of my old one. Delivered on time and working great. 10 months later, I had an issue and I called stating it was under warranty for 1 year. She said that she did not know what I was talking about and asked from my name. I instantly went into battle mode thinking well here is why no one likes them. She came back on phone and said...you don't have a year warranty, you have a 6 year warranty and the first 2 we 100% covered and then prorated each year 25%. Appt was made and hot tub is being fixed. I went into store and found a vent free gas fireplace in cabinet for $699. I went back to store a week or so later and the price was $1199. They said they only had one floor model and it was sold. I continued to see a picture of this fireplace on line for $699. I called them about it and waited 2-weeks for a call back. I finally called again and they explained that the picture did not match what they were selling. He said the cabinet was not included in the $699. To an unskilled buyer of gas fireplaces their website is very deceiving. They post a picture that doesn't match what they are selling. Technically the manager was right, the text in the ad said nothing about a cabinet. Buyer beware, read the all the text. There are several more companies in Columbus Ohio that do not try and trick you into coming to the store, to find what you thought was $699 is $1,199. read more

Went to store to buy a hot tub and wow poor customer service. Saw roughly 7 workers and every single one of them were on their cell phones texting, etc. We were in the store approx. 45mins and we were not approached until we were walking out the door. I proceeded to tell the sales man than we no longer needed anything because no one helped us and we were leaving. We left and went to another store. The service was horrible. I purchased a hot tub 3 years ago and have trouble with it for 3 years. Then when I call the service department, they can't look at it for almost two weeks. They always use the excuse "it is their busy time of year", that is just an excuse. By the time they look at it, order the parts, and then service it, we will more than likely be at over three weeks. Before I bought the hot tub I heard that their service was horrendous but I thought that it wouldn't matter, please take my advice, it does matter. Go to a place that offers good customer service, it will be worth it even if you have to pay a little extra. I will NEVER buy anything from them again. I am looking to buy a fireplace and you can bet I will not look their way for one. read more
