I loved the family vibe at this shop. Sophea is literally the mama bear, and her son and daughter were both helping out on a Thursday afternoon. It was immediately obvious that Sophea is a very experienced barber. She was able to spot the tricky spot on my head before I even opened my mouth. Traditionally, virtually every barber trimmed my hair too short on the parietal aspect of my skull, but Sophea deftly maneuvered around it and the end result was a work of art. She listened carefully what I wanted, and quickly got to work. She understood my requests and skillfully executed her vision. I couldn't be more impressed. The price of the cut is also lower than the typical hipster barbershops that are popping up in all the neighborhoods. The parking situation was a little tricky. The shop might be busy if you try to book the same day, but you are more likely to get a time the next day or the day after that as I have booked here a couple times. They preferable accept cash/zelle/ and venmo, so no credit cards. Sophea is a great, laid-back hairstylist. I have been trying to both grow my length and embrace my natural wave/curl for a few years and have been to a couple different hair stylists for cuts. I didn't realize how important it was to go to someone who "knows" curls. As soon as I walked in and I saw the owner/stylists own beautiful curly hair, I felt confident I was in good hands. I casually mentioned that one section of my hair was always straight, even when I wear my natural wave, and because it was a bleached chunk she let me know it's likely because it was a processed section of hair (makes sense). WELL, let me tell you that whatever magic she did on that section and the rest of my hair, it has NEVER been so naturally curl defined, soft, light and comfortable as she's made it. Even that stubborn part started air drying curled!! My hair is now grown out to the point where normally the weight and texture would be driving me crazy, but now I've got the length I want and it doesn't feel like it's heavy or all over my face and shoulders. She was able to explain and tell me what she sees and knows and how she will do it. There is no question in her process. Only a 1, because you can't leave a 0 stars, which we've all seen ppl say on Yelp! Be very, very careful when (and I would not by any means suggest) going to this "salon". The owner, aka, stylist BUTCHERED MY HAIR!!!! She cut off like 8 inches, I asked for 3-4. Aside from that life altering cut, the color was TOTALLY WRONG! I showed her a picture about 7 times, and the results were nothing like I asked for. Literally, nothing like I asked for! I was devastated and left crying .. and mind you, this took like 3 hours .. for her to totally destroy my hair! I could go into more detail, but no need; all I need to say is it was a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - one thing I will say, is that I did go back the following week (which is the only time she could get me in, although the shop is always empty) so I had to be completely embarrassed for a week with this color "job", nothing I could do about the hack job she did on my hair and still charged me $150 for a complete disaster .. when I came back for her to hopefully fix the color, because wth .. what did I have to lose at this point, she had the nerve to talk smack about me to the one client that did come in to get her bangs cut! She was slamming me for being a pain in the ass!! Are you kidding me right now!!!! agonizing experience .. would never recommend .. I have since "box" dyed my hair a couple times, and will have to continue and gotten waaaay better results and actual compliments to cover her horrible job! read more

She does all my hair coloring, cutting, styling, and eye brows. She does wonders with color! Right now I have chunky highlights and I absolutely love it! I love my layers! The short layers she cuts in the back gives my hair so much more volume. I love it! Now for my eye brows, not many places give me the shape I want. They never dare to go as thin as I like them as well. Reaksa here waxes my eye brows just the way I like them! I love the shape and how she would wax them thin for me.
