The staff is sweet and upbeat and even though it's counter service, the staff checked on us a few times. They have a playground so the smaller guest can play while they eat. As for the food, it's classic taste give you State Fair vibes without the sticker shock . I went with the staff recommendation of The Bang Bang Burger. Classic burger topped with cheddar, fried onion rings, and chipotle on sourdough toast. I couldn't even finish it but I had to make room for dessert. The milkshakes are dangerously good and I loved the speciality versions. Don't worry you can work the calories off with mini golf after. There was a weekend, clearly this is a local favorite rush but the staff kept the line moving and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Sidebar it's hard to find small town gems and not worry about the atmosphere, I'm happy to report it was welcoming and the crowd was diverse. If you're in the area and need a place to stop relax and enjoy some good eats, put The Shack on the top of your list.

But for lunch I stuck with their Cajun grilled tenders and fresh cut fries. Typically you can't go wrong. My wife loves their summer berry salad! She claims its the best salad in Lancaster County! Service was quick and the waitress was very kind. The entire staff here is always great! If you love vibes, Cat's Meow screams a unique speakeasy restaurant. This place takes you back to the Great Gatsby. Tons of photos of Louis Armstrong and other famous people from back in the day! In the summer, Capone's alley is open which is their outdoor patio.

If you have a large party, you need to make a reservation since there's only 2 spots they can really put a party of more than 4. Parties of more than 4 have 2 hour time limits and parties less than 4 are limited to 1 hour just FYI. The food was pretty good, and the ambiance was cozy and classy 1920s theme. Love the history of the place and how it's well kept. There's a big banquet hall in the top of the building if you ever plan to host a large event (can hold up to 26 people) or dinner. The prices of meals are about $20+ (the appetizers are somewhere between $10.99-$15). Overall good experience!

With two…read morefood truck options--burgers (always a solid standby) or Middle Eastern fusion--we decided to go for the more adventurous choice. Best decision of the day. Even with the huge crowd, Traveling J's was running like a well-oiled machine. Two people--just a chef and a cashier--were absolutely cranking out orders while still keeping the line moving fast. Impressive! We narrowed our choices down to two items to split - Gourmet Grilled Cheese + Garlic Cilantro Fries (upgrade) and Hummus with carrots & cucumbers. Add two cold drinks and our total came to $28.62. Not bad considering the generous portions. When we opened our to-go boxes, we were seriously impressed. The hummus was smooth and creamy, drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with spices. The fries were crispy (not soggy!) with just the right kick of garlic and cilantro. And the grilled cheese? Perfectly toasted, melty, and stuffed with sweet, crispy bacon. Cheese was oozing, bread was golden, and it was everything a grilled cheese should be--and then some. The portions were more than enough for two hungry adults, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. I even made sure to compliment the chef--he looked like he'd been hustling nonstop to keep up with the crowd, and it showed in the quality. Next time, I've got my eye on their fried Halloumi cheese. It looked AMAZING coming out of that truck. Bottom line: Fresh, flavorful, filling, and run by a hardworking duo who know what they're doing. Traveling J's is officially on my "must-eat-again" list.
