This place is a massive, nostalgic treasure trove! It's part convenience store, part candy land, featuring everything from fudge and unique knick-knacks to one of the coolest energy drink selections I've ever seen. They even carry Faygo, which is a rare find here on the West Coast. It definitely has a nostalgic ambiance while being just modern enough. Its also at the end of the strip (or start depending where you park) which makes it convenient. While the ice cream selection is huge, the ordering process is a bit of a puzzle. You're required to pay at the register before you even pick your flavors, which is at the end of the long counter. You pass all the ice cream to get there which leads to a lot of confusion and some "line tension" among customers. It's also worth noting that they don't offer samples-which is a bit of a bummer considering how many delicious options there are! We walked into Scoopers with 4 adults and 7 kids (including two in a stroller) hoping to get ice cream for dessert after having dinner. Within seconds we were treated with outright disrespect by an elderly woman near the salt-water taffy. She immediately started shaking her head at us and then made multiple inappropriate and disgusting comments -- within less than a minute: - "Is this an insane asylum or a sane asylum?" - Telling my 12 year old daughter and niece to "close their legs and keep them shut." Speaking to CHILDREN like that is beyond inappropriate--it's disturbing. As we were walking out she went behind the counter and started opening & shutting cabinets as loudly as she could. We didn't even stay a full minute before leaving because of how uncomfortable and disrespected we were. No family should ever be made to feel like that walking into a business. If this is how customers, especially kids are treated, then Scoopers doesn't deserve anyone's business. We will never be back. read more

He was like 19/20 and has obviously never been trained on customer service, or even how to smile. He was Kurt, short in words, and RUDe. I asked for Lemon Pie milkshake which is clearly on the wall. He started scooping some other Lemon ice cream. When I tried to stop him he got even ruder and said in a mean tone that's discontinued, this is what you get. So glad we dropped in because this is a souvenir store/candy store/truffle store/ice cream shop. I think they have double the number of ice cream flavors than Baskin Robbins. You pay before you order and get a number and when you get called an attendant scoops out your choices. they definitely have their system down to get through the line fast. This is a cute shop but check expire by dates. It's currently Feb 21 and they had bacon and eggs on the shelf's that expired in early January (1/6 if I remember correctly). The guy blended it up and I was on my way. One sip and I knew it was the worst milkshake I'd ever had. The consistency was that of milk. I could barely tell it was the flavor I picked out. This place was recommended from a coworker of mine so I had to stop by. It was a cold cloudy day at the beach, yet the line was 30 minutes long. The facility wasn't super clean. Some of the ice cream had a layer of ice on them from freezer burn. The ice cream I chose was good, but not worth the hype. Back in Mar 2022, I was on a road trip from Southern Cal to up north through San Francisco, CA, Portland, OR, and Discovery Bay, WA. I swung on by Long Beach, WA on my way back to Portland. As I was walking around the strip of stores, I saw Scoopers... ice cream!, but when I walked in, there were more than ice cream... a whole lot of other goodies. I ended up getting some salt water taffy (tons of different flavors) and of course, a waffle cone with two flavors of ice cream... huckleberry cheesecake and butter pecan. What a delightful combination! Loved every bite! You can't go wrong with ice cream when vacationing. Life is short, eat ice cream! LOL Scoopers look larger inside than it looks from the outside. Staff was very friendly and pleasant. Prices were decent. They have benches outside for you to sit and enjoy your ice cream. I got a chance to do that until it got cold so I walked back to my car and finished off my ice cream overlooking Long Beach... what a joy! Swing on by Scoopers when you're in Long Beach, WA.
