Cute little candy shop in the heart of Manzanita. When camping at Nahalem Bay State Park we always need to grab our favorite candy variety. They have some great nostalgic candy from when we were young kids as well as some delicious fudge and chocolate. My favorite almond and cashew caramel turtles and peanut butter chocolate bar are my go to. I grabbed a few salted milk chocolate caramels too. Look forward to our next visit to this cute town to visit this great lil candy shop!

Such a fun and cute candy shop my wife and I stopped at today in our first time in Manzanita. We picked up a ton of salt water taffy (all is delicious) some chocolate truffles, and an assortment of other sweets. Everything so far has been awesome. The staff were very friendly and the prices were very reasonable. It's not like we needed a ton of candy lol, but if you're going to get it, this is such a pleasant place to stop at and really adds charm to the town. If you happen to be driving along the coast and stop in this town (which we would recommend as there's a lot of other fun shops as well), then make sure to stop here!

This is the go to place for great chocolates and fun kid candy as well as sugary novelties. Well run and professional as well as safe during the current situation. We alway make a stop when visiting Manzanita. Remember quality chocolate melts so plan ahead if you leave them in your hot car, apparently some customers have complained. ‍

So cute and quaint. Best places around for delectable confectionery! (Get the peanut butter cups, your welcome).

Listen. If you ever find yourself wandering through the salt-kissed mist of Cannon Beach with sand…read morein your shoes and an ache for something sweet in your soul, go ahead and duck into Schwietert's Cones & Candy. It's a sugar-slinging time machine. Shelves groan under the weight of taffy in colors that don't occur in nature and fudge dense enough to warp gravity. I had the ice cream. Two scoops. Marionberry Pie and Mountain Huckleberry. Both from Tillamook, which around here is less a brand and more a benevolent dairy cult. These berries are like edible postcards from the Pacific Northwest. One bite and you're knee-deep in a foggy forest thinking you hear Bigfoot weeping quietly from joy. Of course the prices are high. You're in a town where the beach views are free and everything else makes up for it. The real gamble is who hands you your scoop. Some of us got generous lumps the size of a toddler's fist while others looked like they'd been served a sample. Such is life in a democracy. The lines wound throughout the store, but it moved along at a respectable clip. People were smiling. Sugar does that. All in all, this is the kind of place that doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is. A temple to nostalgia. A sanctuary for the sweet-toothed and sunburnt. Four stars. One star held in reserve for the day someone figures out how to standardize scoop sizes.

It was a mixture of candy, waffle cones and other goodies. But first we needed to have lunch and I promised we would be back for some ice cream. What's a vacation without a daily scoop of ice cream ESPECIALLY when you are on vacation with your GG? I made good on my promise. We walked in and were met with a display of various fudge, saltwater taffy galor but we were there for some ice cream. Which was located at the back of the store. Displayed in all its yumminess was various flavors of Tillamook ice cream. Granddaughter chose birthday cake. I had jamoca almond fudge and my son had a cherry jubilee. We found seating outside in a courtyard where we enjoyed our ice cream before our big drive home.

And for me, walking straight into Phillips Candies like a man fulfilling a sacred coastal tradition. This place has been around since 1897 and is actually the oldest continually operating business in Seaside, which honestly makes perfect sense the second you walk through the doors. First off, I absolutely love that they carry sugar free chocolates that actually taste good. That alone deserves applause. Then you add in the giant selection of candy, the homemade treats, the popcorn, the chocolate, the old school charm, and suddenly you realize you've been wandering around the store for forty five minutes carrying six pounds of snacks you absolutely did not plan on buying. I am a complete sucker for the white cheddar popcorn and the cheese popcorn. Throw in some Laffy Taffy and now we're talking about a full blown Seaside survival kit. Every single trip to the coast, I stop here and "accidentally" leave with enough candy to supply a small movie theater. The store itself is beautiful too. Bright, nostalgic, cozy, and full of that classic beach town energy that makes you happy just being there. It sits right near all the fun downtown, close to the arcade action and the heart of Seaside, so stopping in feels like part of the experience. The customer service is always fantastic, warm, welcoming, and patient with people like me who spend fifteen minutes debating popcorn flavors like it's a life decision. And somehow, even with the quality, it still feels like you get a good deal. Chocolates, candies, caramel corn, saltwater taffy, coffee drinks, sweet treats everywhere you look. No trip to the Oregon Coast feels complete without walking out of this place carrying a bag that's way heavier than you intended. Five stars all day long.

A little overpriced candy you can often find at Walmart, but they also had some unique candies and a taffy bar to fill up a bag. Some is in the aisles and some is via the staff behind the countertop. Cute cow bench outside if you'd rather wait while your loved one stocks up. Interesting to buy and also just to browse - I loved looking at all of the old fashioned candy boxes on the walls. Some Asian candies, mostly U.S. of A. A big attraction is the "seafoam" candy. Also they have merch, primarily the type of keychains and necklaces that have your name on them, and also a surprising amount of dog-related merch, including a bone-shaped dog toy and some cute signage. It was a busy place, and keeps later hours than the salt water taffy place down the block, lucky for me. It's a fairly large store with all kinds of sweets and ice cream. I got a bag of taffy for my mom and then also one as a gift, just an assortment I picked out. From the large selection (I think at least 50 flavors). I also got some fudge (my mom's got a sweet tooth!) for our group of nine visiting to share. They had divinity, an old-fashioned confection of which my mother is quite fond so I picked up some of that, as well as some dark chocolate sea salt and some rocky road. They give free samples and I got a taste of the dark chocolate sea salt--heavenly. I only interacted with one staff member but she was helpful. The parking is street only.
