A great little place to grab a sandwich or ice cream before or after heading to the beach. The scoop station isn't anything special and they only have like 6 flavors, but their specialty desserts are yummy. The chocolate barnacle is a sugar cookie topped with cookies and cream and a chocolate mousse. It makes for a very pretty and tasty dessert. The sticky rice is not as pretty and it's a little messy, but oh so good! A nice warm pile of sticky rice topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel. Delish! The staff could use some improvements in their service and attitude. They were apparently annoyed that I asked for extra spoons when four of us were sharing a dessert. Bluebell I cream is always the best! I was unaware that they also served salads and gourmet desserts. Plus the restroom was very clean!

I'm not a big fan of ice cream parlors, but ventured in with some friends after a meal at Snoopy's. We split two signature desserts--the sticky rice and chocolate mousse. Sticky rice was absolutely amazing!!! Not sure if it's a Hawaiian dessert concept, but warm sticky rice topped with a cold scoop of pecan praline drizzled with caramel sauce is a winning combination. The sticky rice had a perfect texture and wasn't too sweet. The chocolate mousse--sugar cookie base with cookies and cream followed by chocolate mousse--wasn't as impressive due to the paper-thin layer of mousse. What I could taste of the mousse was good, but the entire dessert probably had no more than 1 scant tablespoon of chocolate mousse, disappointing for something called chocolate mousse. Nevertheless, we all loved how the cookies and cream ice cream wasn't too sweet. The sugar cookie base should be something chocolate to further enhance the flavor rather than just serve as a base. Delicious ice cream !!! Staying in padre island and craving ice cream and this place did the trick. Ordered their specialty ice cream... barnacle and cupcake. So good!! If had to pick would order cupcake because the cup is a warm brownie. Kids got ice cream cup and cone. It's ice cream, how can it be bad? This little shop is right next to Snoopy's (get it, Scoopy's?) and is always a stop after eating our fill of seafood next door. Small selection of flavors but also some specialty desserts/cakes etc. They also have some cafe items for food. My husband ducked in here to grab a PB & Banana sandwich for our kid while everyone else was eating fish. It came on good quality grain bread and she loved it. A really quaint little sandwich/icecream shop that overlooks the laguna madre. It's a companion to Snoopy's seafood restaurant. The interior and exterior of this waterside place are clean and attractive. The prices are very competitive (not tourist trap-ish) and the view is nice. Since BlueBell is off the market right now, they're selling ice cream from Kinney Tx. Not quite as good as BlueBell, but they'll get back on board when BB is back on the market. Still looking for a really good ice cream place in the area. We love Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream and it's hard to find that flavor in this area other than Baskin Robbins, which we love. Scoopy's customer service was not very good and the server was not very friendly. My shake was mediocre at best but my husband did like the sundae he had but not good enough that he is dying to go back. We will keep looking while we are in the area. read more

Cute enough place with nice views. I'm sure the ice cream is fine (not homemade) but we stopped in for sandwiches. They were meh. The Cuban was really tasteless. The chicken salad was nice and on a good bun but no lettuce or tomato. The issue is really with the kids menu. It is REALLY hard to screw up a PB&J in my opinion, but they did. First they put on banana slices and then were surprised we didnt want the banana (???) They brought a other one with no bananas but with some kind of fig jam....for a PB&J on KIDS menu. Obvs, kiddo was not going to eat that so we ordered a grilled cheese (they charged again) and that was inedible...no have no idea what kind of cheese it was. The location was exceptional! Beautiful views of the water. There are only about 6 ice cream flavors to choose from. I love getting local ice cream, especially on a little vacation. So, when I drove 4 hours to Corpus Christi I was excited about trying out Scoopy's. When I got there, I realized they served Blue Bell ice cream. This place was hard to access from walking into from the back while trying to dock your boat. When I walked in, I didn't even get greeted. The asian lady helped the customer in front of me and after doing so, she didn't even say hello or that she would be right with me. Came here before and the staff was decent, but today the girl working the cash register was the rudest person I've ever encountered. I ordered the sticky rice and picked out an ice cream flavor and she made me change my flavor because she thought it sounded gross. When you go to pay you are obligated to tip because there's no option that says otherwise. The girl screamed at me when I clicked the wrong button on the card reader, but never gave me any instruction or when to insert my card. She also made my friend really uncomfortable about not tipping, so she felt obligated to tip even when by no means do they deserve it. I wish the other two girls in the shop would have spoken up and taken control of the situation. I don't think I would go back because of how uncomfortable the girl made my friend and I nor would I recommend anyone going there anymore. The location is beautiful & it's a cute little ice cream shop. but I have been there twice, once on July 14th, the second time was today, July 16th. The same girl was at the front both days & I thought maybe the first day she could've just been having a bad day considering she had an attitude over a single dip of vanilla ice cream. Nope! The chocolate syrup was pouring off the side of the cup with my ice cream in it & instead of helping the guy she was working with she went over there & laughed at the cup & him. As a former resident of the island I've always enjoyed the fact that we can take the boat out and grab ice cream along the way. Seems like ownership has changed -for the better. The service was good and quick. We walked in with about 10 people ahead of us and received our ice cream within 3 minutes . There is ample seating with great views . I particularly enjoyed the Sticky Rice special which was Asian sweetened sticky rice with vanilla ice cream (or your choice) and caramel topping!
