Best place I found peel and eat shrimp. Large portion and very affordable. Their food is very well made and the place has a family friendly beach town feel. Great prices and great food at the very best price points.

Crazy good food, crazy nice staff, big open dining area with a nice looking bar area. It has both tables and booths. My wife and I had dinner here and really enjoyed our meals. The menu has a lot of variety and choices including fresh fish and steaks. They have a nice selection of drinks and beers. We both had a Perfect Marg no salt on the rocks. They both came with two limes. They were very tasty and resonably priced. My wife had the Nueces Bay which is flounder, shrimp, crab with a wine butter sauce. She got the vegi's of the day and rice as her side. She loved it, everything was very good. I had the Stuffed Flounder with rice and fried okra. The stuffed flounder was grilled with the seafood stuffing. I really enjoyed this also. Our wait person was friendly, helpful with our questions and checked on us the appropriate number of times to make sure everything was great.

Was on the island for a doctor's appointment and decided to try this place for lunch and so glad we did. We had Melody as a server and service was exceptional. Hubs tried the Greek burger and I ordered the ANC chicken sandwich. He had sweet potato fries and I had the onion strings. Let me say my sandwich was great. Huge portion of chicken, avocados and bacon. Could only eat half. Hubs said the Greek burger was amazing and that the ground beef was super juicy and tasty. The portions on the onion strings and fries were HUGE, way too big like enough for a team. lol. But everything was really good. Will definitely be back when we are in the area, 9 out of 10 for everything. And prices were good too.

Service was great. They bring out fresh rolls to the table after you order your drinks. The menu is very straightforward and has exactly what you want. My daughter and I got lunch while my hubby opted for breakfast since it was about 10:45 when got there. The shrimp poboy was really good...seasoned and lots of pickles, tomato and lettuce. I don't know if they make the hoagie inhouse or not but it was toasted and was sooo good. The tarter sauce comes on the side. I just Wish they put 2 more shrimp on the sandwich to fill it up all the way. My daughter loved the shrimp platter. The shrimp were seasoned well and fried golden. My hubby loved the pancakes and hashbrowns...the bacon was . I tried a piece or 2. Very good experience. Also...the bathroom was veeerryyy clean so I appreciated that. Check them out if you come to Corpus Christi. You won't be disappointed.

So we have tried several dinner items and they never miss. The food is all so good. If I had to pick a favorite I would pick anything from the menu lol. Ok we loved the Greek salmon, mushroom burger and New York strip. But it's all good. And the diner atmosphere feels comfortable to dine in. The servers and bartenders have been welcoming and really work hard to make your experience great. So far, best on the island.

Sunday morning breakfast stop and wasn't that busy which was great. Got sat right away in a booth. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was tasty and only issue was the side of ham came out after the rest of the meal. Large portions for the two eggs and French toast. Eggs were scrambled well and loved the hash browns. Coffee was also quite delicious, should have asked for a to go cup! Decor was simple and clean, there was an odd open space due to the a/c dripping. Smart of them to not leave tables for guests to have an unpleasant experience.

Where do I begin? Let's start with the price of their entrées. Everything here from steak to burgers and baskets is priced so affordable it would question me to think the quality would be less than. This isn't the case. Captains Diner is a true contender for restaurant experience of the year in my book. Everything and I do mean everything from the seafood platter to the steak and turf, which I ordered was amazing and the price is unbelievable. This place is an absolute gem. This is my new go to place why down on the coast

Greek salmon with spinach, calamari olives and feta cheese. I've never had salmon like this. Loved it!

What a great surprise! We loved Captain's Diner. It was recommended to us by a friend who had recently discovered it. Every employee was super friendly and the food was spectacular. We started with wonderful drinks recommended by our waitress, then had calamari, crab cakes, onion rings, Greek Salmon, blackened salmon and a burger. The portions were big, the food was served hot and everything was flavored like it was homemade. Also our waitress, Gabby, could not have been more pleasant. It was clear she loved her job and took pride in working for the family owned business. We look forward to going back when visiting the Port A area again.

I had a good experience here because the waitress was friendly and the food was pretty good. I like that the food wasn't really salty though most of the dishes were a bit planned. They definitely could've used a bit more seasoning. But besides that I felt the food was quite fresh, and the pricing was reasonable. My favorite dish was the flounder and cream sauce. The flounder tasted fresh and the cream sauce was flavored really nicely and had some seafood in it.

My husband and I came by for dinner around 6 pm yesterday, and we seemed to have hit the perfect time. There was a brief wait, but shortly after we checked in, a lot of families were coming in to get on the wait list. There were several large groups, and the restaurant is quite the hole-in-the-wall place. The inside is quite vintage with an old-timey feel. We loved the old celebrity photos on the wall. I ordered the grilled shrimp with steamed broccoli (veggie of the day) and a baked potato. My husband had the grilled salmon with rice pilaf and broccoli. We also had Caesar salads, which tasted really good. Their prices are super reasonable, and you get A LOT of food. The service was also really good, and we barely had to ask for anything. We will be back!

Food was hot and fresh. Great friendly service and welcoming atmosphere. Plates had the perfect amount of food.

We were first time Customers and we were so glad that we found this local home style seafood restaurant with a good amount of space and tables with staff to serve them. The restaurant is also nicely decorated with historical photos of the island not over done with neon signage. The menu provide various selections and are well priced for the ample portions served. Our waitress by the name of Gabby was just fantastic always stoping to check on us and offering if we needed anything plus she was very knowledgeable of the food and the history of the restaurant. For starters we had the delicious crab cakes and I mean 5 of them not 2 or 3. We then had the Shrimp plater grilled and a Seafood salad both were delicious .. overall we're delighted and will certainly be stopping by again to try the other items on the menu when visiting our favorite White Cap Beach.

A shot wait on the deck out front, a chance to chat and we were called in. Being a summer day, the doors were open to the back deck and it creates a breezy, airy environment. Wife ordered the Seafood Lover's plate...a little of each of their fried offerings and I ordered a ribeye plate (prices at market prices)...a little surprise on the market price came with the bill. The service was on point, not too frequent and the food arrived in very reasonable time given the number of diners. My steak was a little on the gristle-y side though cooked perfectly and the flavor was fantastic. The baby potatoes were great. The green beans included were a bit over seasoned with the garilc...some heat I didn't expect. Wife thought her entrées were great. She had some leftovers...not me. So the price is what docks a star. It was a little surprise since the price for my meal wasn't on the menu...I guess I should have asked. I've not paid quite that much at a couple of steakhouses in town. But it WAS a good steak. We're already ready with what we'll order on our next visit.

The fish tacos were fresh and flavorful, the shrimp dishes were delicious, and even the burgers and fries received rave reviews. The drinks were equally impressive, with refreshing cocktails and non-alcoholic options that complemented the meal perfectly. What really stood out was the service. Despite our large party, the staff was attentive, friendly, and kept everything running smoothly. Food arrived promptly, drinks stayed filled, and we never felt overlooked. The restaurant itself was also clean, welcoming, and well-maintained, creating a comfortable atmosphere for both adults and children. Finding a restaurant that can successfully accommodate a group this size while delivering excellent food and service isn't always easy, but this one did it effortlessly. We would absolutely return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal with family or friends. Pulling up into the parking lot, we got extremely lucky and saw a few people walking out; otherwise this little parking lot is completely full. We ordered the Philly Cheese w/ pasta salad, the Teriyaki Salmon w/ mac 'n cheese, and also Ahi Tuna sandwich w/ the soup of the day, being broccoli and cheese. It was wanting to stick to the paper because it just couldn't wait for me to devour it. The softness and texture was next level. I have no idea what the hell kind of bread it is, but I need to know just about now. I would definitely come back if I lived here.

We weren't seated until around 8:25 PM, and after ordering, we waited another 15 minutes for our food. Because the restaurant closes at 9:00 PM, we were literally the last people there. However, the front-of-house chaos was completely salvaged by the rest of the experience. Our server, Danielle, was amazingly kind, sweet, and incredibly awesome! On top of that, the food was absolutely amazing, tasty, and served piping hot, with 1 of the hurricane combo being really cold. My brother couldn't finish it. And the steak was dry, and needed more flavor. I will say the chicken tenders were ginormous and very juicy. The atmosphere was also great very comforting with nice, beachy vibes. The Verdict: A incredibly frustrating wait and a rough start with the host, but Danielle's stellar service and the fantastic food made the night worth it.
