Scooters!

This place was great. Fast friendly service and a moist brisket sandwich! His sauces are great as well. What a nice stop on the way back from the mountains. Get a quick sandwich and back on the road. Will definitely return.

What a special find! We took the special Georgetown scenic train (definitely do this!... the aspens are at their peak) and wanted somewhere yummy to eat afterwards. Thanks to Yelp we found this gem. Kathy and her 2 sons are from TX and know how to cook barbecue. We had pulled pork ( yummy sauces!), delicious homemade French fries, baked beans to die for, creamy Mac and cheese and the peach cobbler. It was drizzling, so luckily we were able to sit at the "bar" which seated 6-7. There also is one small table outside. I think a lot of locals come by here for take out (including the police!) so you know is a local favorite.

I got the ribs plate and forgot to take a picture LOL! The food was delicious as were the sauces. I love the spicy mustard. There are only about 4 seats inside and a few picnic style tables outside. We took our food and ate it near the lake. I got the rib plate and it was good! I love their beans. They're open until they run out and they run out pretty quick due to high demand. I recommend getting there before 2pm because that's the latest I've been able to get them.

AMAZING place! We were 5 people and tried almost everything on the menu and nothing disappointed! Brisket was our favorite, all the sides were great. The restaurant is very small, only 6 seats are available inside and 4-5 tables on the outside. Let's talk about sides: Mac and cheese- definitely a must if you like mac and cheese, super creamy and not a fake cheesy one. Cucumber salad- wow super fresh, it has onion and dill, delicious. Coleslaw- super citrusy and no mayo, very healthy Fries- amazing seems like hand cut Onion rings- best I have had! Made from real onions Sauces- all amazing, my fav was sweet spicy bbq sauce. Their bun was really tasty as well. We are visiting the town and thankfully we found this place!

Pulled pork small size sandwich and the BEST crispy onion rings and okra.

Fantastic smoked pork and the onion rings are wonderful, crispy! The okra is also just right! Four different sauces to choose from. The plac is tiny and cozy with limited seating, but it's worth getting food and even eating in your car if you have to. Lovely smokey scent as you drive up.

Stopped by Scooters for a late lunch and weren't sure what to expect. We were in for a surprise. Our visit started with the nicest staff who were great to talk to. Then we get to the food. We ordered pulled pork sandwiches, Mac n cheese, and baked beans. Everything tasted amazing! The Mac n cheese and baked beans were some of the best we've had at a bbq place. Highly recommend stop here if you're going through Georgetown!

Hands down best bbq I've ate, of the many times I've visited and tried bbq in other places of Colorado. This place was cute and quaint. Just a small building w minimal high top bar type seating inside w some nice shaded outdoor seating as well w a nice view of the mountains. My husband and I shared their family meal special they was having which was a 1lb of pulled pork and 1lb of brisket with 3 sides and we ordered some corn bread. The meat was so juicy and tender and packed with so much flavor. The okra had the perfect crispness to pair perfectly with their homemade house ranch. The corn bread was in the middle of a sweet and regular corn bread and very moist. We also got the pinto beans. They were okay definitely not our favorite but not a deal breaker on this place. Just needs a little more seasoning. Overall this place is definitely a five stars for us!

Small town Texas smoked BBQ brought from Lubbock to Georgetown! Not many places in the mountains you can claim has some of the best bbq. Bringa me back to great Texas BBQ! Our daughter needed a break on a trip back from the mountains and we found this diamond in the rough! Got to talking with the owner and her sons and heard a great story of how this place got started. Friendly service and a family friendly atmosphere! The inside is small but my daughter loved listening to the river rumble on by as we sat at the picnic tables outside. Acrpss from the visitor center this place is a quick stop off I70 and a quick hop back on. Would highly recommend and will be returning any time we're craving great BBQ and heading into the mountains!

Wow, so glad we stopped in on our vacation travel for this delicious BBQ! Cute little place with good service and very tender and moist brisket. The sides were excellent also. I have celiac and their sauces were GF and they had the best tasting GF bun I've ever had (and that's saying a lot! lol)

The view.

This was great BBQ and great service. I have a small brisket sandwich and two sides. The only problem was limiting what I was gonna choose. Everything looks so good.

Perfect day to eat outside!!

This place is amazing! Starving and heading to Breckenridge....did a quick Yelp search and found Scooter's! So glad we did! Everyone had tender, delicious sliced brisket. Fries were hot and fresh and sooooo good. All sides were excellent. Mac & Cheese, Okra, Collards, and Cole Slaw.... All excellent. If our flight wasn't so early going back....we'd stop on the way back!!

Excellent BBQ, sauces, sides AND margaritas!…read more We're here in WP for three weeks. This is our second visit to The Smokehouse in the last 10 days. The first time we were disappointed upon arrival when they were out of burnt ends. We're from KCMO and we judge a town's BBQ by their burnt ends. Nonetheless, the brisket, sauces and sides were enough to warrant a second visit. Oh, and that house margarita...chef's kiss! Just what a tired ass mom needs after a long day of "hey moms." On the second visit, I went early at 4PM and ordered carryout. AND a margarita while I waited! The margarita is simple, the perfect size and made with all fresh ingredients. It rivals more notable ones around town. This time, they had ALL the burnt ends and boy, were they worth the wait! I got a one meat platter with burnt ends, collards and Mac n cheese. My husband got a two meat platter with burnt ends, brisket, beans and slaw. We got KC and Texas sauces (they have 5 or 6 to choose from, all inspired by different BBQ regions in the US). Both platters came with cornbread which is the only thing that needs some work IMHO. It's small, dry and not worthy of the calories. But EVERYTHING else was soooo good! Fatty, juicy, flavorful meats. Balanced sauces. And delicious sides! The Mac, collards and beans get an A+, the slaw is a solid B. Service was great on both visits. Friendly, efficient and fast! One thing to note is they have an adorable patio. I've not eaten out there yet but it's well maintained with lots of flowers and good coverage from the sun. Might have to check it out on our third visit!

We decided to eat a Smokin' Dave's BBQ after a long day hiking at RMNP. We visited a bit after 6PM…read moreon a Sunday in the pouring rain and even though we thought it was shoulder season, the place was absolutely packed. We were quoted a 35-40 minute wait time. Since the waiting area was completely full we decided to go back to the car. Luckily, they use a waitlist system that sends updates via cellphone. It ended up only taking 20 minutes, and soon we sat inside to order. The food took about 15 minutes to arrive: Smokin' Bison Ribs ($29) - This entree comes with ribs, two sides, and a cornbread muffin. Bison Ribs - Three huge ribs decorate the top of the plate. According to the menu, they try to provide two pounds of meat - I'm not 100% sure it's that much, but it is a substantial portion nonetheless. The meat is moist and while not fall-off-the-bone, courtesy of a very thick layer of silver skin attaching the meat to the bone, is tender enough to be easy to eat. The ribs are slathered in a blackberry bbq sauce. It's not nearly as sweet or fruity as the name suggests. Instead, the flavors are very complementary and work so well together with the fabulously smoky and somewhat charred flavor of the ribs. (5/5) Side 1: Southern Corn Bake Casserole - This includes tender sweet corn kernels in a very creamy sauce with some green chile, giving a small bit of vegetal heat. It's similar to a richer creamed corn with a bit of heat. (4/5) Side 2: Red Beans and Rice - Tender beans that remain whole rather than falling apart into a mushy mass, reside on top of a very small amount of soft rice. Honestly the rice is almost vestigial here given the amount of beans on top. It's all in a very rich and savory sauce filled with celery. (4/5) Cornbread - This is a moist cornbread muffin with a couple of whole corn kernels inside. It's sweet but not as sweet as a dessert. (4/5) Dave's Double Platter ($22) - This entree comes with the choice of two meats, two sides, and a cornbread muffin. Meat 1: Brisket - A pink smoke ring surrounds pieces of lean, pale colored brisket flat. The meat arrives in a puddle of juices and seems to have plenty of black pepper embedded in the crust, but not any particular bark, making it seem like the brisket will be moist and tender. Unfortunately, the opposite is true - it's mostly dry with only superficial moisture on the exterior. I feel like they store pieces of brisket immersed in vats of the meat juices and keep it heated through service. They rest there until someone orders the brisket, then chunks are lifted out and sliced to order. All the moisture seems to be sucked out - on the first bite I could tell that I needed to eat the brisket in bbq sauce. Still, while dry, it's not too tough and it does have a good level of smoke. (3/5) Meat 2: Pulled Pork - The pulled pork has the same issues as the brisket and the same upsides: dry, with only superficial moisture, no bark, good smoke ring. Strangely they provided a piece of very light colored pork that wasn't shredded and was actually really tough and completely dried out. At least the darker meat shredded pieces are small enough to immerse in the meat juices to remoisten. (3/5) Side 1: Jalapeno Hush Puppies - These spherical fried corn fritters are stuffed with jalapenos, giving enough heat for the mouth to tingle. The texture is very dense, moist (especially due to the addition of onion), and smooth, making it seem homemade rather than commercial. For some reason, the center of each hush puppy has a void. They are fried well, giving a good crisp on the exterior. (5/5) Side 2: BBQ Baked Beans - These are very tender mixed beans in a very sweet sauce. I'd say very similar in sweetness level to canned beans. There are some small pieces of bacon mixed in to spice things up. (3/5) Cornbread - Interestingly not baked as much as the one that came with the bison ribs, making it much paler in color. I guess they aren't that consistent at baking these. Otherwise it could be due to hotter or colder spots in the oven? Other than the bison ribs, the other barbecue items are kind of meh. At least the sides are mostly good. Portion sizes are large but not comically big. We had enough leftovers for one meal the next day. When we left a bit after 7:30 PM, the place was still completely full and there were still people in the waiting room. Seems like a very popular place for dinner! Bathrooms - Two larger rooms/multiple stalls, one for men, one for women.
