So glad I found this cozy little spot on my way back from exploring the area. What a nice treat to get some good southern BBQ and hospitality from this business and the sweet owner and her sons. I got a brisket plate with green beans and mac n cheese + sweet tea and they all hit the spot! Good portions as well, I appreciated how creamy the mac n cheese was. Not picture is the must have sweet bbq sauce you can self serve (they have a spicy one too). This is a solid, good quality bbq spot, I'm surprised this was available in the area! This place is worth a stop for lunch or after a good hike. There are a few bar seats by the window (so not a full sit down restaurant) and I was to get one without issue and line moves fast, they are efficient and provide great customer service! Honestly props to everyone that works at Scooters because we came in with a large group after a race at Georgetown Lake. They had to close briefly to catch up with the orders after us and we felt bad. When you first arrive, this is essentially a shack. There's limited seating indoors that's like window seats. Then they have a large outdoor seating area. I do wish there was some sort of shade or covering because the sun was beating down on us. It was very hot and it felt like we were burning so maybe bring an umbrella. Now onto the food. The food was quite delicious. The fries were a good crunch and taste. The jalapeño potato salad was so good. The coleslaw is very tangy. The meats were delicious. We had the chopped brisket and the ribs. They're smoked quite well and the bbq sauce pairings were very tasty. I definitely like the hot bbq sauce (wasn't spicy but had such a good flavor). read more

On my way back to Denver I stop in this super friendly smokehouse barbecue place it was super busy and the people in the kitchen were extremely friendly. We start our snack with the onion ring wow I was immediately surprised as the quality was like a five star restaurant onion ring housemate crispy flavorful perfect. I ordered A sandwich with half sausage and half smoked pork. That was absolutely delicious. I ordered a side of cucumber and onion salad that refreshing cold salad was pairing with perfection with the my smoke sandwich. They have four different barbecue sauces. All of them were delicious, accommodating the smoking of the meat My wife had the pulled pork plate served with mac & cheese this was also a really great mac & cheese, homemade flavorful and combine very well with the pulled pork. She also have the baked beans. This was perfect much much better than "canned bean" And they give us a delicious peach cobbler. I am still licking my fingers the place had to close early that day because they sold out. My Coworker heard we were going to Georgetown for a train ride and raved about this little spot. Great BBQ, fair prices, and family owned warmth. It's a small place without a ton of seating inside, but quite a few tables & picnic tables outside. The portions were huge & I enjoyed the cucumber salad (which I didn't expect). What a special find! We took the special Georgetown scenic train (definitely do this!... the aspens are at their peak) and wanted somewhere yummy to eat afterwards. Thanks to Yelp we found this gem. Kathy and her 2 sons are from TX and know how to cook barbecue. We had pulled pork ( yummy sauces!), delicious homemade French fries, baked beans to die for, creamy Mac and cheese and the peach cobbler. It was drizzling, so luckily we were able to sit at the "bar" which seated 6-7. There also is one small table outside. I think a lot of locals come by here for take out (including the police!) so you know is a local favorite. read more

Stopped in here after doing the Georgetown Loop Train.. place was small but packed which is always a green flag. Everyone working was friendly. Food was delish. This food was sooooo good that I couldn't help but start eating it before taking some pics. We planned a stop here on our motorcycle tour this week. All of us were from Texas and love some good BBQ! It's a quaint little restaurant with very limited inside seating. Maybe 6 chairs at one counter. Don't fret....they have picnic tables outside. You order at the counter and they give you a buzzer. It was a busy Saturday afternoon but we had our food within 15 mins. There was 12 of us in our group. Wow !!!!! It looked amazing and smelled even better. I had a chopped brisket sandwich with okra and potato salad. All that and a Diet Coke for just under $30. Well worth it!!! The okra was stacked high. They give you big portions. It was delicious. Same with the potato salad. Very good. I saved the best for last. My chopped brisket sandwich was hugely packed with meat. Loved the toasted bun and that Q was AMAZING I knew it....these were Texan transplants that brought their Q up here. Y'all have to try this! read more

If you are driving up I-70 or find yourself stopping in Georgetown, you need to let this be your pitstop for lunch or dinner. We decided to stop here after riding the Georgetown train loop. I was a bit skeptical despite its great reviews, because when I think of good BBQ I think of a lot of other places before a mountain town in Colorado. It is right in the middle of town. It is a pretty small restaurant right next to a gas station and can easily be overlooked if you are not intentionally looking for it. Because it is small inside be aware that there are very few seats inside as well. We were able to sit inside though! They do have outdoor seating as well. We ordered a 4-meat plate to share with sliced brisket, ribs, turkey, and chicken breast. For our sides we got the jalapeno potato salad, baked beans, and collard greens. Let's just we basically licked our plate clean! All the meat was cooked to perfection, very tender and flavorful! The sides were all very good. I especially loved the jalapeno potato salad. It was unique like no other potato salad I have had before while also being everything you would expect in a potato salad. You can't go wrong ordering food here! We left very happy customers! Hands down best bbq I've ate, of the many times I've visited and tried bbq in other places of Colorado. This place was cute and quaint. Just a small building w minimal high top bar type seating inside w some nice shaded outdoor seating as well w a nice view of the mountains. My husband and I shared their family meal special they was having which was a 1lb of pulled pork and 1lb of brisket with 3 sides and we ordered some corn bread. The meat was so juicy and tender and packed with so much flavor. The okra had the perfect crispness to pair perfectly with their homemade house ranch. The corn bread was in the middle of a sweet and regular corn bread and very moist. We also got the pinto beans. They were okay definitely not our favorite but not a deal breaker on this place. Just needs a little more seasoning. Overall this place is definitely a five stars for us! read more

Our daughter needed a break on a trip back from the mountains and we found this diamond in the rough! Got to talking with the owner and her sons and heard a great story of how this place got started. Friendly service and a family friendly atmosphere! The inside is small but my daughter loved listening to the river rumble on by as we sat at the picnic tables outside. Acrpss from the visitor center this place is a quick stop off I70 and a quick hop back on. We had been missing this amazing food for a while now. They use to be in Conifer and moved to their new home Georgetown!! It was an hour drive for us on a Sunday- WELL WORTH IT! the food was just as good if not better, is that even possible!!! We both had the pulled pork sandwich with French fries and home made Mac and cheese (best stuff ever!!!). We sat inside at the little bar by the window. It was a bit cold out to sit at the outdoor area. We can't wait to come back in the summer. We were so excited they found a new home. My goodness this was phenomenal. I was looking for a sandwich and Scooter's popped up on my search. We had to double back to Georgetown but it was easy off 70, easy back on, and super easy to locate the restaurant and parking. We chose the brisket, pulled pork, french fries, jalapeño potato salad, plus cornbread. We ordered everything to go, chatted with the owners for a few and got on our way back home. The brisket was tender and almost creamy and had lots of crunchy burned bits. The fries were perfect and didn't survive the drive home (oops; too good to stop). The restaurant is very small and has only a few counter top spots, but it's clean and cozy and comfortable but I'll probably continue to get my bbq to go. read more

A wonderful smoked bbq spot hidden in Georgetown. A small building as you turn right off the exit. I always believe the way to test a good barbecue spot is by getting their beef brisket. I ordered a sliced brisket sandwich with mac & cheese. The brisket was perfect. Nice bark. I asked for fatty and it was very juicy. I loved the nice sized serving mac & cheese. Cheese was a white sauce, delicious. I also had some of the Carolina sauce and some sweet sauce and some spicy sauce all very tasty. The guys running the shop were very pleasant and I noticed they had some real smokers out back meaning that they work hard to get the perfection they have. Next time you skiing stop by on the way down the hill and grab some good food to take home. read more
