This eatery has been around for many years and through generational and ownership changes. While it's just around the corner from Cave Springs Winery Store and some of the upscale shops in Jordan it's anything but upscale and very easy to drive right past. Don't. Not iif you're hungry and are looking for an affordable and uncomplicated menu in a well worn yet comfortable space. This is a roadside eatery, the menu comprises sandwiches, burgers, and all day breakfast. We stopped in after wine shopping and needed a late lunch. After perusing the menu we chose Bacon and Eggs and a toasted Western Sandwich. Both were well prepared, flavourful, and satisfying. My sole disappointment was that I didn't try the Poutine, especially as it's made with fresh Cheese Curds. The place is not large and contains maybe a dozen tables, this include freestanding tables and booths. The booths comprise diner classic wooden benches and melamine table surfaces. The roadside diner experience was capped off when we receive our hand written check. We left your cash tip on the table and paid our bill at the cash register. We will definitely be back.

We got in and they had to clean a booth for us. They were really busy. We were sat in about three minutes and another couple of minutes to get our order taken. Food came out quickly and hot and we both enjoyed our meal. We settled the bill for 2 of us and it came to around 20.00 with tip. The owner's Grand Father was there helping out. It was his before the Granddaughter took it over. He apologized for the wait, but in reality it was minimal and no apology was necessary. In short, nice place, nice people, good food. Will definitely eat there again.

We sat at the bar and Mike, our bartender was so much fun that we totally lost track of time! All the staff we met as they passed behind the bar were super nice and friendly. Food was very good and no one batted an eye when I asked for mayo for my fries. Seems that is a Canadian thing! We tried out several new beers (we had a designated driver) and went home with leftover chicken wings (in case we got stranded on the road in the storm?) The serving was generous with plenty of egg, ham, bacon and cheese. The lettuce underneath was fresh and crisp and the salads tasted great. The service wasn't bad, but could have been better. We were with another couple and asked for separate bills. When the bill arrived, everything was on one so we had to ask them to take it back and separate it. We also waited a while for the server to come back with the credit card machine. The meals were quite reasonably priced. We may return, but would most likely try another restaurant in the area.

Service was fair - our server seemed to have the majority of tables in another section and out of view. We were her only table on the one side, so it was a bit difficult to get her attention. Atmosphere and decor was good. Over the years, I've been disappointed that Turtle Jack's in general has changed and reduced their classic menu choices. I used to love their Apple Brie Burger with special sauces, bruschetta with reduced balsamic vinaigrette, and brunch menu. I'm sure it was more labour-intensive so I get it, but it was the reason that this restaurant stood out from the rest in its early years. I will try their dusted chicken wings again in the future. The goat cheese and spinach stuffing was the highlight of the dish and added a lot of flavour. Unfortunately, everything around it was a bit of a letdown. The mashed potatoes were very starchy and bland, the vegetables were overcooked and also bland and waterlogged, and the overall portion felt pretty small. The dish was also supposed to come with roasted potatoes, but they had run out of them, along with a few other menu items. I also tried the Forty Hazy IPA, which I thought was decent. My wife ordered the Ocean Crown Salmon, and unfortunately it was one of the most disappointing restaurant meals we've had in a while. The salmon was completely overcooked, dry, and even burnt in spots. The dish as a whole just felt uninspired, and she made the difficult decision to send it back, which is something she absolutely hates doing and very rarely does. She replaced it with the Mac & Cheese, but unfortunately that wasn't much better. We both found it to be very lacklustre, and the portion was surprisingly small. She finished it quickly and still ended up making herself something to eat once we got home. One thing we do want to commend was our server. He handled everything professionally and was kind enough to remove my wife's meal from the bill, which we really appreciated. The service was definitely the highlight of the visit. Overall, though, the food just felt like it lacked love, creativity, and attention to detail. Combined with a fairly average atmosphere, this visit just didn't leave much of an impression on us, and unfortunately it's probably not a place we'll be returning to.
