You have to pay the Lake Pleasant entrance fee and walk down a long flight of stairs on the dock to get to the grill so definitely plan to spend some time in the area. We were seated right away and after debating a few options, I ordered the crispy fish sandwich with a salad as my side. The food was ready pretty quickly. The salad was both bigger and better than I expected for a side salad. The fish sandwich also really delivered with a large piece of fish that was nicely lightly breaded. We came to Lake Pleasant for the day and rented a boat and got hungry and decided to try Scorpion Bay Grill for lunch. I got the mushroom Swiss burger protein style on lettuce. The burger was cooked perfectly for me. The onions and tomatoes were very fresh and good. The only thing was that there wasn't much seasoning on the patty so it was kind of bland. The french fries were good, flavorful. Could have been a little crispier. My boyfriend got the scorpion bay burger. He said it was really good but also lacked seasoning on the patty. He said the onion ring and bacon were nice and crispy. His tater tot's were salted and crispy which was great. The atmosphere was perfect for lunch on the water. Hubby & my first time making the drive out to Scorpion Bay Grill. It was a Monday afternoon & the weather was perfect for the adventure. The bar was kinda busy for a Monday & our server Hannah did an excellent job providing excellent customer service. Hubby ordered the fish & chips with the iced tea. It was ok the fish was oily so he peeled the breading off & ate the fish. I enjoyed my chicken wings the were cooked perfectly & delicious. State Park: if you have a state park pass, remember to bring it here to get in through the ranger station. Great spot if you're visiting Lake Pleasant, especially if you're around the Marina. You do have to take stairs or a tram to access the marina from the parking lot. The food was fresh and delicious. Not a surprise based on the reviews. But the prices are incredibly reasonable. Kids meals at between 6-9 dollars and adult meals are between 15-25 dollars. The battered fish was the star. Crispy exterior, while fish was soft, flakey and tender. It is definitely worth a try and the portions are enough to share (which we did). A high recommend, just be careful of the wild Burros (donkeys) read more

I'll start by saying we are not boat people so we had no idea how to find the restaurant. It was an adventure. It was so relaxing to be eating on the water. The food was really really good. The boys and I decided to make a day out of it and checked out the water toys, Paqua Park, and of course, the grill. Upon arrival, we had a bit of trouble locating the restaurant as we didn't see any signs in the parking lot. However, we eventually found our way down the pier and stumbled upon the restaurant next to the convenience store. We opted to sit on the outside patio and were treated to a stunning view overlooking the lake. My son and his friends were in heaven with their fish and chips and fish sandwiches - they barely left me a fry! I went for the Shrimp Ginger Sesame Salad, and it was not only tasty but also a generous portion. Our waitress was a delight - friendly, attentive, and made our dining experience even more enjoyable. With the boys on summer break, we've been exploring different dining spots, and Scorpion Bay Grill is definitely one we'll be revisiting. After a nice hike on burro trail we stopped in for a drink and some appetizers! This place is good for a stop over for hikers and boaters! You can order in advance for pick up or you have a seat on the patio overlooking the lake! The restaurant also offers indoor seating for cold days! There is also an indoor and outdoor bar area! The restaurant has a pretty extensive menu that has bar type food! There are salads and healthy options too! Also the place offers an extensive drink menu! We just enjoyed a couple flatbreads! The Korean chicken flat bread was unusual and had good flavors! We also ordered the margarita flatbread which was more traditional! Given we are in Arizona I had to order the prickly pear margarita! I took the family out to lake pleasant and stumbled across this restaurant. There is not a lot of food options around here but this one hit the spot! I wasn't expecting much since we are in Arizona and it would be hard to keep fish fresh but this place blew my mind. We ordered the dam good fish tacos which came with battered Cod, cabbage, pico de gallo and coleslaw. The ingredients sound simple but the flavors were on point and the fish was so fresh! They also give a big portion of the fish. When I think tacos I think small bite size but these were really huge tacos. It also comes with either your choice of tater tots, fries, coleslaw, onion rings or potato salad. My family and I enjoyed eating here and really wanted to dig in on other food items like the fish sandwich and the marina club. I know people like bringing food to eat at the lake but if you didn't bring anything, I recommend stopping by and trying their food. Really good food and the service was phenomenal read more

I had the Greek salad with chicken. It was plentiful and delicious. Chicken cooked as requested. Veggies all fresh. House Greek dressing was the perfect match. My husband ordered the pretzel plate - the salt and garlic pretzel were very good. Garlic the best of the two. The parmesan pretzel was just weird tasting. We both had local beers, and Amber ale and a hazy IPA. Both very good. As mentioned, service slowed terribly and a hour lunch turned to two. They were super busy and likely understaffed. Such a fun hidden gem! There's no sign on the road for this place, and I would have never expected to find a restaurant inside a regional park. I guess it's really mainly for the locals! The only reason we knew of its existence was because we ran across some people on a hiking trail and they mentioned they had heard some wild donkeys in the distance while eating at the restaurant. To get there, head to Scorpion Bay and park anywhere up there. Find the path down. There's a long steep staircase, or you can take this fun ski lift/elevator sort of thing. Keep walking all the way down the pier. Once at the restaurant, customer service was great! We wanted a table outside in the sun, and they didn't have any except for a little area that was considered more of a lounge and wasn't supposed to have table service, but they basically gave us table service anyway. All the food on everyone's table looked great, and the same was true of the food that we ourselves ordered. We got a quesadilla, which was one of the cheaper things on the menu for $14, and it was stuffed with different flavors and we were really happy with that purchase! We also got the $21 fish and chips. Good, but not as much food as I would have thought for the high price. But just the customer service and the environment was a really nice experience. Our kids enjoyed the ducks that were walking around right outside the patio area. read more

Decided to go for a hike atLake Pleasant. We stopped in at scorpion Bay Grill the place was very busy with a lot of tourist this time of year however we were able to get seating at the bar. The waitress staff was very friendly and attentive. They also didn't seem precious about which waitress was supporting which table. We were approached by about three different waitresses all wanted to make sure that we have been helped and that we were doing OK. I was very impressed because as busy as they were, they were still Very customer service oriented. We ordered the wings at first and they were yummy. We later ordered the sliders which were undercooked and the meat did not taste fresh. When the waitress noticed, we were not eating them. She quickly responded and took them back. She recommended the Ruben, which we ordered next and it was very delicious. The views were amazing you could see Lake Pleasant clearly. And again the staff were amazing. Visiting Arizona friends and they had heard about this place, so we headed there and we were very happy we did. Park then take the stairs or ride their little funicular down to the dock. I think mainly used to transport your stuff to boats to spend the day, but fun little ride. So many activities available. Rental boats, jet skis, and more! Beautiful lake but due to recent storms there was debris floating around. But still beautiful! We went just for lunch but I know our friends will be back. Lunch was delicious and service by Amy was great. Helpful and patient and answered questions about the place, being first timers. We are camping in the park and after having a quick beer at the bar yesterday, decided the menu looked good enough for lunch :). They have limited hours Monday thru Thursday (11-4p) but are open for dinner on the weekends- with all the live music and happening; I'll bet it's absolutely crazy on the weekends. Anyway, we settled on lunch and we arrived around 11:30 AM and there were actually wild burros in the parking lot, lol. The park is known for this, but crazily enough on all of our hikes this week, we did not see them until we went to the restaurant! We opted to sit on the patio, as it was an absolutely glorious 70-ish day with a light breeze coming across the water. We had a really nice view and the patio is quite large! Hubby decided on the Baja chicken salad, which he said was very tasty, although recommended you ask for extra dressing upfront. I had the blackened ahi tuna sandwich on ciabatta and it was fantastic. Just the right amount of kick to it along with the pineapple coleslaw, which had a little bit of Frank's sauce drizzled on the top. We both really liked this unique approach to coleslaw- it is mayo based if that helps and there is just a trace of pineapple in it, so it's not fruity as one would expect. We really liked it! Their prices aren't terribly crazy here either, which was a really nice change. I had one glass of Pinot Grigio and my husband had one beer and our total bill for all came to $56 before tip. There is a pretty steep stairway coming down into the dock area but as others have mentioned, there are two Finicular elevators that can take you from top to bottom if you so choose. My husband was being goofy and he said there's about 95 steps in case anybody wanted to know I can't fault the restaurant for the little gnats that seem to be attacking the tables as you're sitting right on the water, but we did ask the hostess to wipe the table off as when we went to sit down as there were at least 30 little flying ants (gnats?) crawling everywhere, which wasn't too appetizing. Once she scrubbed the table, we managed to swipe them off every now and then, but know that you're on the water and bugs do exist there! We were in and out in an hour and it was incredibly enjoyable. Accessible via a very long staircase and walk along the dock, or use the neat elevators. Or pull your boat directly up to the back patio! Food is on the pricier side, but that's the cost of a view. Sandwiches range $15-20, salads $12-16, flatbreads $13-15, etc. And that's on top of the $7 park entry fee. I got the fish tacos, and they were alright. Only two but they're fairly large. The onion rings were tasty. It's hard to beat the location. The food was pretty good. They had a couple vegetarian options. I got the beyond pizza burger with no cheese or pepperoni. Fun spot on the water to grab lunch. You can either take a tram up & down to the marina area or the stairs. Once you've arrived there is a nice general store with lake gear, Scorpion Bay items as well as convenience items. There's also a restroom area that is for the whole marina including the restaurant. There's usually a wait to get an outdoor table but inside tables are quick if you'd rather not wait. They have huge garage doors they open so it's like you're outside but they just are right next to the water & it is cooler inside. Service is friendly & they work their tails off. Food is very good which we were pleasantly surprised about. The flatbread is very good and the fish tacos are fantastic! They had an expresso bean creme brûlée which was also very good. read more

It should be noted to get here you pay a $7 entrance fee into the park. You can walk down the stairs to the marina or there is a free cable car that can take you to the marina dock. You can't beat the view here. We got a table on the water which was great with the views of the water and the mountains. The Day on the Lake drink was refreshing, coconut forward and not too sweet. The drinks are reasonably priced which I was surprised for a lakeside establishment. The fish and chips were crisp and hot. Excellent coleslaw here as well. The service was great. I like how you can pull your boat right up to the back patio, dock it and enjoy a burger on the patio. We don't have a boat so we opted to park and walk down the staircase and along the docks to the restaurant. I ordered a beyond burger southwest style with a side of their pineapple slaw. The burger was tasty and I liked the fresh jalapeños it comes with, gives it a nice fresh flavor. The pineapple slaw was decent but I was expecting some chunks of pineapple in the slaw but I think it was just made with pineapple juice. I ordered a skinny margarita as a drink, which I didn't like at all. I'm not sure who made it but it tasted very off. I still drank it though and ordered a second one thinking it would be better but it was worse than the first. The drinks are served in small plastic cups, which was a little cheesy. For a somewhat nice restaurant on the lake, you'd think they'd serve drinks in a glass. read more

Nice views of Scorpion Bay from the patio. Patio is also dog-friendly and they provide a water bowl for your doggo. Hannah was great, checked on us and was friendly. For drinks, the Pina-Col-Nada was delicious and the Monsoon Mojito was refreshing. For food, the Yachters Sandwich was good and the Margherita Flatbread was okay. If you're coming by boat, you can dock right next to their patio and hop in. By car, you can park in the parking lot right above, and use the tram to come on down. They have fan misters on the patio, so despite the temps, we opted to sit outside ... and we were glad since we were rewarded wtih beautiful lake views. It is a hike to get here (both from the parking lot and PHX), but the views are scenic, and everyone was very friendly. The fish was perfectly fried - the batter was light and so crunchy, the kind where you take a bite of and it just c r u m b l e s in your mouth. It wasn't too oily either, which is always a plus. The food and drinks here were surprisingly good. My salad had plenty of toppings, and the tater tots were nice and crispy. Our server was fast and did a nice job separating our checks, even though we had 15 people. I do think the food was overpriced, but the drinks were a reasonable price.
