First time here and just had drinks and an app in the afternoon. Bloody Mary was good, draft beer was cold and onion rings sweet and tasty. Chipotle ranch great for dipping. Very interesting place to check out with the animals and such. Would like to come back for rodeo and live entertainment. Love the space.

This is a fun place to visit and enjoy great BBQ. Outside they were preparing for rodeo, and it is fun to watch while waiting for your food to be served. I ordered a Prime Rib French Dip and a baked potato. The sandwich was loaded with meat, and after eating about half of the meat I could finally pick up the sandwich and dip it in the au jus. Delicious! It comes with melted cheese but I got it without the cheese. You really don't need it, the sandwich is perfect without it. The potato was perfect as well. Great service, too!

I really wanted to like this place. Passing by the zoo and the whole set up of the buildings I thought was really cool. When we arrived during lunch time, it seemed strange that it looked like there was only one lady taking everyone's orders. As for the food, I really enjoyed the side of beans, but the brisket and the other barbecue meats I tried wasn't as juicy as I was hoping. A random guy swung by and suggested us to try their Philly cheese steak, and looking at the other reviews, I probably would have enjoyed that, or one of their other sandwiches or burgers, a lot more than the barbecue options.

What a fun restaurant experience out of town! It should definitely be a tourist destination. We went on a Friday night and the horses were out and people were roping! It was very cool to watch. There are goats, llamas, tortoises, and donkeys to keep the kids entertained. There was live country music and a huge dance floor. Sooo many tables all over the place, and heaters as well. We had a party of 13 and there was plenty of room for us at the picnic benches. Service and food took a while to come out, but they were totally busy and it wasn't like we had anywhere to be! Everyone ordered something different and loved it. We were so quiet after the food came. The Mac & cheese was just amazing! Make sure to get it as a side. Great place to hang out county style!

It was incredible!! The vendors are so awesome and my fiancé and I have had the most delightful conversations with them, the service was most encouraging! Love the animals too. And my goodness, the food!! It has such a homey ambiance and my fiancé spent his 18th birthday there recently.

The first thing that happened was that we waited 10 minutes just to be seated. It was lunch time on a Saturday and service was extremely lethargic. This place is located in a mini ranch that includes some general stores, animals, a stage, a public restroom, a mini rodeo, and an outdoor dance floor. The first thing that should be noted is the incompetence of the waitress that served us. First, it took her 10 minutes to go and grab and pen and paper to take our order. Even after writing our orders down, we got the wrong food. Because it service was so slow, it took a long time before someone came over and corrected the mistake. That same waitress was also getting other people's orders wrong. It is an odd choice that none of the buildings in this place have air conditioning. Then add to the fact that there are tons of flies in the restaurant that are always trying to land on your food. I tried out their build your own BBQ option and tried the brisket, burnt ends, turkey breast, mac 'n cheese, and mashed potatoes. None of the meats were good. I tried two different BBQ sauces and they weren't good. The mashed potatoes and mac 'n cheese were average, but the gravy wasn't good. They also charge you a fee for not using cash. This all cost $33.54 for food I didn't even finish. Overall, a horrible experience. This place is located in the middle of nowhere and you'd be doing yourselves a favor by skipping this place and eating somewhere else.

My wife and I were very, very, very pleasantly surprised. If you are unaware of Dillon's or the Western Trails Ranch, on your first visit here, you don't have any clue what this is until you walk into this hidden from view incredible compound! We frequently travel up and down SR 60/Grand Avenue on the outskirts of Phoenix and just recently became aware of this gem. This 12-acre property includes 2 stages, the Buzzard's Saloon, an incredible roping showground, offering bull riding arena and a General Store - not to mention Dillon's restaurant. Another surprise, their menu! A lot of goodies tailored to anyone's taste buds... overall a humongous menu with Beers: whether canned, bottled or draft with a good assortment; a huge assortment of various types of appetizers; soups and salads; you name it kinds of sandwiches; a good list of burgers; prime rib platters; various fish entrees; barbecues; eat in or take out! Wow! We decided to make a pit stop on our way to Laughlin and grabbed an early lunch of a well-made Arnold Palmer and an ice cold Kiltlifter Draft for thirst quenching. We ordered their incredible rendition of deep-fried mushrooms, the Mushroom Bonanza... incredibly tasty and well prepared. My wife ordered the Classic Angus Burger, perfectly char-broiled medium with the toasted bun filled with tomato, lettuce and onion. I decided on the incredibly delish Southwestern Smoked Stew. This baby was chock full of smoked beef and smoked pork meat with good amount of pepper, corn, tomato and carrots - this stew alone is worth the visit, it was fantastic. We recommend Dillon's as a pit stop or even as a destination. It has a lot to offer, and we found it to be a hidden gem for a lot of stuff.

For our meal, we got the BBQ platter with brisket and sides - potato salad, mac & cheese, and beans. Of the sides, I liked the beans the most followed by the potato salad, mac was not bad. The brisket was good with bbq sauce. They have a green chili cheddar cornbread available for purchase, but if the dinner came with a slice or two of bread, that would've been great. Overall, it was quite a pleasant meal with friendly service. We were given boxes for our leftovers along with sides of bbq sauce to take with us. If you're passing through, check them out!

Well, this BBQ did not disappoint. It's a charming place and the staff were so welcoming and provided help when looking at the menu. I ordered the Cholla bowl and man, great flavors and so filling. It's not typical at most bbq places out here, but if I could have taken it home, I would. I loved the combo of the pork with beans and cheese and then corn bread to finish it off. My husband got the brisket sandwich which was highly recommended. And that came with 2 large sides. He got the Cole slaw and potato salad. Both were tasty and not over powered with spices. He also added Mac and Cheese , which was so creamy! If you are visiting the area or traveling to Vegas, this is a great stop and you will get a wonderful homemade meal served by an amazing staff.

Colt Grill is located on Whiskey Row and caddy corner from the Courthouse. It is easy to find and street parking is plentiful. Colt Grill has both indoor and outdoor uncovered seating which is so popular with the weather here. Inside it's a counter service restaurant with a bar that serves BBQ. I ordered the 1/2 smoked chicken platter that comes with slaw and cornbread for $17.50. I added the "meal deal" of 2 sides for $6 more and chose the sweet beans and Texas Toast because I wanted to try those side dishes in addition with what came with the meal. The meal was ready in less than 15 minutes. I immediately realized that I ordered too much food. Along with the 1/2 bird, the slaw and jalapeño cheese cornbread were full size sides. The beans and toast were too but then I did get to try them all so I wasn't complaining. The chicken looked perfect and was juicy and flavorful with a hint of smoke and a lot of taste. The cole slaw was cool and creamy and the big slice of cornbread moist and delicious. The beans had content in them with brisket and onions and looked great but were unfortunately dry. I would have been content to not order the two extra sides and save the $6. All in all the food was good tasting and affordable. I would have given a 4 score except for these negatives: First the dry beans. Second was for the flies buzzing around inside. Third was that they were out of some utensils and I had to use a child's fork to eat with. Evidently the dishwasher wasn't keeping up. Finally they have a sauce bar here with about 8 bbq sauces with descriptions to use which is neat. However, the 2 sauces that I wanted were out at the time. 3 of the 4 negatives were management related issues and may have not been the norm here however that is what I experienced. Colt Grill is a popular restaurant in Prescott that needs a little better organization. However, I would return on a future visit here.

The location was really nice and open with a patio, and the inside was spacious without the tables being packed together. Plenty of room to sit back and actually enjoy your meal. I ate some with just the rub and some with sauce, and both ways were delicious. The mashed potatoes were so good I should've ordered more. The mac and cheese wasn't overly creamy, which was perfect for me, and I can't forget the Caesar salad. Really good Caesar salad, and one thing I always appreciate--serve it on a cold plate. This one came out nice and cold and was super fresh. Overall, really good BBQ, great sides, and a nice comfortable location. Definitely worth the stop if you're in Payson.

Hello Everyone: This review is for Rim Country BBQ and Wood Fired Pizzas in Payson, AZ…read more This was our first time at this restaurant. We would definitely come back again. Because we could not decide what to order, we got the sampler plate which had meats, sides, and dipping sauces. The photos show you the "before" and "after" of our meal! Bathrooms are clean. We had no problem finding off-street parking. Analysis of experience: This plate is enough for two people. You get: two ribs, two 1/2 pieces of sausage, a scoop of pulled pork (about 1/3 to 1/2 cup), two thin slices of brisket and some sliced smoked turkey breast. Also included is a sampler container of their dipping sauces to enjoy with your meat. Sides included: baked beans, corn, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, potato salad and mac & cheese. Our meat favorites were the ribs and the pulled pork. This is why: I first tried a bit of each meat with no sauce. I don't want to review sauces and sauces can cover up/mask many issues just like a coat of paint on a wall. Therefore, I started with meat (no sauce) tastings, then moved to the meat and sauce tasting. Ribs: The rib meat easily cut off the bone and was tender. There was not a lot of meat, the bones were pretty big as you can see, but what meat there was had a nice flavor and was tender. Pulled Pork: The pulled pork was some of the most tender I have experienced. This meat went well with ALL the dipping sauces served to us. I did not get a lot of smoke flavor to it, the flavor was subtle, but that allowed for the sauces to shine a little bit. Brisket: The brisket was tender, but I felt the fat line on the top of the brisket was still too intact for me (not rendered enough so the fat juices get down into the meat) and I thought the brisket was a tad dry. Turkey: The turkey breast had a nice flavor, but again, it was very subtle. This meat was also a tad dry, not bad with sauce on it, but could have been a little juicier. That was perhaps my least favorite because it was on the dry side. Sausage: The sausage was 1/2 of a sausage cut in 1/2 again as you can see in the photo. This was a spicy sausage with a charred cut side, very nice. The char on the sausage added a nice crunch to each bite. My husband and I both agreed our favorites were the ribs and the pulled pork and should we return, these two meats would be on our radar. Regarding the sides, here is my review: The yellow corn was average - nothing special. The mashed potatoes were average - nothing special. Mac & Cheese - average, nothing special. The sauce on this item was too runny for us. The sauce wound up against other items on the plate. The cole slaw was nice, fresh tasting, but I think it needed a dash of fennel. The coleslaw and the potato salad (items which are served cold) were co-mingled on the plate with all the hot items. I would have preferred them being served inside a small bowl or container on the serving platter to keep them cold. The potato salad was very good - I would definitely order that again. The beans were excellent - I would definitely order those again. This menu item is also served with a piece of garlic bread which was very good - it had melted butter on it and tasted like garlic! I am giving this 5 Stars even with some short falls regarding flavor and or juiciness because of the environment, friendly staff, clean bathrooms, available to find parking without driving around, and menu choices. The menu is large, enough choices for everyone to get something. If we are back in the area, we will try one of their pizzas. Hannah was our server and she did a nice job checking on us since she knew it was our first time there. Very pleasant, nice smile, and good with her customers. Enjoy!

We ordered the ribs, brisket, mac & cheese, elote, and jalapeño cheddar sausage, and honestly... EVERYTHING was a 100/10! Every single bite was packed with so much flavor, and you could really taste the care that went into the cooking. The ribs were incredibly juicy and tender, with that delicious smoky BBQ flavor and the perfect amount of seasoning. The brisket was another standout--so flavorful, tender, and juicy, with that beautiful smoky flavor you hope for when you're craving authentic BBQ. And the jalapeño cheddar sausage?! The combination of the savory sausage, little kick of jalapeño, and creamy cheddar was SO good! The mac & cheese was rich, creamy, and comforting--the perfect side to balance all that smoky goodness. The elote was also a favorite, loaded with flavor and the perfect little sweet-and-savory element alongside the BBQ. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked.
