I purchased the most gorgeous ring, unique in its style, fairly priced and will be returning to buy my sister a present

I want to start this review by saying the folks that we worked with were largely very nice and helpful. The designs are beautiful. However, I recommend against purchasing some of the more expensive jewelry from Scosha if you're hoping they'll be be durable/last a long time. I purchased two solid silver cuffs as engagement bracelets for me and my fiancee - unfortunately, mine broke after a month of wear. To their credit, when I called, they said they'd repair it and only charge the shipping fee. I specifically asked whether soldering it as a fix would make it weaker and I was told it would actually make the bracelet stronger. The bracelet broke again in the exact same place within a week of wear. At that point, they sent me a new bracelet and told me that silver cuffs should not be taken on and off or adjusted too much (then what is the point?). After getting my new cuff, my fiancee woke up shortly thereafter to his cuff broken as well - he had not taken it off or adjusted it since he first put it on months earlier. Frustrated, I bought two silver chain link bracelets from Scosha, thinking they wouldn't have the same problem. Within a couple weeks, though, a connecting hoop on mine got caught on a towel and the bracelet now needs repair. The same small connecting hoop on my fiancee's bracelet is soldered into one piece, leading me to think it's either made with very cheap metal or the fabrication was done poorly. In any event: we're disappointed to say the least. We had hoped our bracelets would last a lifetime - but between two different bracelet types, well over $1K spent, and two different wearers, we've had 3+ breaks. read more

BUYER BEWARE! Reasons why I will not be purchasing anything from Scosha again: Scosha admits to their solid gold jewelry tarnishing!! I purchased the Mini Trip Hoop with Mixed Stones pair ($260) and the pair of Tiny Infinity studs ($160). I noticed after about 3 months of wearing these regularly that the color started to change. I tried to clean with soap and water as the brand recommended in the instructions but that did not seem to work. The idea that I spent hundreds of dollars for these two pairs of earrings that claim to be solid gold, were tarnishing so quickly- it just didn't seem right. So I called them and they tell me I need to mail it in so they can assess the earrings. I oblige, so I pay for the shipping costs for Fedex to send it there, and Scosha emails me saying they cannot exchange the earrings and that tarnishing is normal depending on your body chemistry- they say they will try to clean them... I was not having that- I have bought and worn solid gold jewelry earrings from many other brands (like mejuri, kinn, brands on etsy, even macys!) that do not tarnish, especially not that quickly. Who would spend this kind of money on jewelry if it's going to tarnish like that? You might as well save up a little more a splurge on Cartier or something that you know is high quality. So they try to offer me a store credit to use it toward some of their other jewelry BUT why would I want to spend more money at a store when I can't even trust the quality?? I say no thank you - just send me the earrings back. So of course, I have to pay the fedex shipping costs to get them to mail the earrings back to me .... And bizarre enough, I receive these earrings looking brand new, no tarnish in sight! BUT, I can't make this up.... one of the emeralds from the mini hoops is missing. How? Why? You're telling me they sent me back earrings with a missing emerald stone and didn't notice?? Yeah, right. This is ridiculous! I also don't know what they did to remove the tarnishing, or if they swapped it out, but they never told me about correcting the problem.. their communication is poor and their business practices are sketchy. read more

It is sad to leave a bad review because the designs they have are really unique and beautiful. Two years ago I got a bracelet for my brother and had such a nice time in the store and the staff that helped me were so nice. I had a lovely experience. My experience this time was the opposite. I was sent jewelry with the wrong engraving on it. I had to call the store on two occasions and was put on hold for a long time just to be told that the person who could help me was not available. The options i was finally given to get the right item included me going above and beyond and running around to deliver items to them and pick them up (my original order was online). I had a sensitive timeline being this was a bday present but had about 10 days before i needed the item. There was really no attempt to help me rectify the situation even though all I wanted was the item I originally ordered and paid for. All through trying to fix the situation the manager was so extremely mean and treated me as if they were doing me some kind of favor (when all of this went back to a mistake they made). I finally went into the store and the manager was so extremely rude i honestly don't think I have even been spoken to in a way so mean. She did not even let me talk but rather said things over me acting as if she was all knowing and the only one who could possibly be right. She even accused me of "attacking a small business" and actually kept repeating this sentiment when I tried to convey my concerns. As if being a small business means you can do no wrong. Having worked for a Small business that was way smaller than this brand I would have never treated a customer let alone another human like that. The whole situation was so extremely disturbing. I don't know what the manager gets out of acting like that. The cruelness was beyond not offering good customer service and went to personal attacks and belittling. It was by far the worst experience i ever had with any brand or store. I will never spend another cent here as the brand seems to think its ok to treat people so horrifically. I would advise to steer clear especially if you are neurodivergent, as I am, because the experience really upset me for an entire day to the point I was shaking. Go to another store where you are actually wanted and valued as a customer but also just a person. read more

My sister has been shopping at Scocha for a very long time and I have also made a few purchases. I stopped by today looking for some dangling earrings. The sales Associate with the blonde and pink, lavender hair seemed annoyed by the number of patrons at the store 4 including a baby. I actually told her that she looked fluster and she denied but her demeanor said otherwise. It is such a shame that the quality of customer service has gotten so bad. They had a nice slim lady working there in the past and she was very pleasant and helpful. Maybe that Sales Associate needs to work in the back where she does not need to interact with people. She was abrasive, unpleasant and rude. I will not patronize such an establishment. Unfortunately it seems that other yelpers agreed. read more

I specifically bought from Scosha because my sister-in-law and her family swore by the customer service (had stories of replacing a lost ruby a few years ago). I bought almost $1000 in jewelry in my first purchase. One item came damaged, and another I accidentally ordered two of the same item. Scosha not only would not except any returns, but wouldn't even issue me store credit for the mistake. Additionally, my sister's family bought an anklet and said the clasp broke on the second use. Scosha refused to fix. We also asked for some info. about how they sourced their diamonds and they stated they couldn't answer. Definitely not the customer service or quality of jewelry it once was; would not recommend. They are obviously struggling with covid and no longer offer the same service as they once did. read more

Unfortunately, I can't recommend Scosha. I purchased a ring (10K gold) and 8 months later the band had completely split through. It needs to be completely re-shanked. I emailed customer service and they said they could not provide me with low-cost repairs because I was out of the 30-day window. Yes, it had been longer than 30 days, but fine jewelry should not break after 8 months! After taking the ring to local jewelers, they have all told me that a band this thin was destined to crack. It is disappointing that Scosha would create and sell jewelry with such a short lifespan. I have been quoted almost $300 for the ring to be re-shanked. Plus, one of the stones shifts around in its setting... who knows what that will add to my repair bill! Might be a total loss. Very upsetting. read more

I bought my first SCOSHA ring in July of 2021 as a masters graduation present to myself. I love their Mondrian like designs with gems! The one I bought is a beautiful bar ring with diamonds and a sapphire. I got so many compliments on it. A few months later there was an issue with the ring. I called SCOSHA; they listened, then immediately followed up, taking full responsibility! I sent the ring back (quite a while later); they fixed it free of charge. It returned in beautiful condition! I bought a piece of jewelry from this store and it fall apart within 3 days, I didn't even bother to go there, the jewelry is cheap and you can tell is not "handmade in Brooklyn" it is made maybe in China, it looks cheap and is expensive. read more

Scosha has beautiful unique jewelry. But, I had the most disturbing customer service experience here and I will never shop here again. Please keep this in mind when shopping here that eventhough their jewelry is beautiful they are not nice people. I had taken one of their bracelets to be repaired and paid the repair fee. It turned into this whole ordeal where they made mistakes on the repair twice and it took nearly three months to get it fixed the right way. When I finally got the bracelet back repaired properly, I asked for a refund on the repair (it's a $65 fee). Bea, the manager, who was perfectly pleasant during the whole process turned nasty and said "Since YOU are a customer, you should KNOW we don't give refunds". I was shocked because clearly it was their mistake both times and she refused to admit it was their mistake. I calmly told her I was disappointed as a regular customer that she was treating me this way and she said "No, I am disappointed in YOU". Who says that? The other girl working in the store looked just as shocked as me at her behavior! This store has a bad reputation for customer service as you can see in the reviews (and from friends in the neighborhood who've told me) but I have never seen anything like this. I am a loyal customer who has shopped here for years. Go to Catbird, Mociun, Norbu, Gorjana or Amore if you're looking for jewelry in Williamsburg without this nasty customer service. (Also the other reviews are correct that most of their jewelry is 10K and will tarnish. These other stores use 14K and are the same price if not cheaper...I'm just saying...) read more

I wish I could give this company a good review as I'm a repeat customer but apparently that doesn't mean much to them. My boyfriend purchased a ring for me as a Christmas gift. I had the ring for a few weeks and within that short period of time the ring constantly snagged on my clothing to the point where once it bent completely out of shape and stabbed my finger. I was upset at the lack of quality. I own many dainty silver and gold rings and this has never happened. So, about 18 emails and over a month later, Scosha not only has the ring (I mailed it back to do an exchange but changed my mind as I'm not sure they have great quality) but they also have my boyfriends money. They REFUSE to give us a refund because the ring was 'final sale'. Here is what final sale actually means to me, someone who has worked at retail stores such as Neiman Marcus for over 8 years - you purchase a dress online that is on final sale meaning the item will not go back to full price nor will be re-stocked. That I completely understand. Scosha is saying that because my boyfriend purchase the ring on Cyber Monday (I presume) during a promotional sale that we cannot return the ring. This doesn't make sense to ANY one I've told. All I want is our $132 back. I've seriously cried over this. I've never been treated this way. The owner of the company refuses to talk to me and I agree with the other Yelp reviewer in that some of the workers demeanor is quite rude. I will never shop here again. Every time I look at the earrings I already own from them I think of this terrible experience. Why would the owner want that? I don't understand. I'm not trying to pull one on them...but stand up for your product! I'm now working the our credit card company and the BBB to see how they can help me. It's gotten so out of hand. I feel really bad about giving Scosha such a low rating. After all, I want to be supportive of artists and independent shops. All of the jewelery they sell here is even made right there in a workshop behind the store! That's neat. But the prices here are just insane, and not in a "it's pricey but worth it" kind of way. In a "I have some questions for the person who would actually spend that much on this" kind of way. I checked the price of a small brown cloth owl, and immediately assumed that the handwritten tag was just missing a decimal. I thought there was no possible way that a fabric owl about the size of a large coffee mug could cost that much, so I went to the front counter to check. But the tag was right. There was no missing decimal. That owl cost almost three hundred dollars. Three. Hundred. Dollars. Maybe I'm not artistic enough. Maybe I just don't see it. I received a ring from Scosha for my 21st birthday, and it was very special to me. After wearing it for a couple months, a diamond fell out. It was pretty small and they said they would charge for repairs, so I decided to leave it. A couple months after that the band completely broke where the diamond had fallen out. I have been a fan of Scosha's bracelets for a few years now, they are nicely made and in a variety of price points. If they break, which they do sometimes after a year or so of wear, Scosha will repair them (for a price). I bought several for my mom and she has begun to buy them for gifts for friends and family. If she can't get to Brooklyn she asks me if I can pick them up for her. The other day was such a day, I went in to pick up an order she'd made over the phone. I walked in with great hopes of picking up some last minute Christmas gifts of my own (they have some nice things in the perfume-incense realm). However, when I gave both my mother's and my own name to retrieve the order, all the staff on site were perplexed and I thought quite blasé about not being able to locate it. Even though my mom had given her name, paid by credit card, and has bought several items here before, they seemed to have no record of the sale or package. I was surprised at the casual and maybe a little rude demeanor of the ladies there, and so I said I'd take a walk and return soon. When I came back, they had a package and said "This is probably it", but couldn't confirm, oddly. In retrospect, I think it was probably that the bracelet was not in the highest end of the price range for jewelry there, and so maybe not so important for them? I don't know.... In the end, it was the right order, but I was really put off by the attitudes of the shop staff and will probably try to take my bracelet business (and hopefully my mother's) elsewhere next time! read more

I wanted to buy my daughter something special for coming home with an amazing report card and found the perfect gift at Scosha. This Grand Street store is filled with so many gorgeous handmade pieces that I had the hardest time narrowing down my choice. I finally decided on the easygoing heart charm bracelet. My 11-year-old loves it so much that she won't take it off. Now all her friends are asking me where to get one. I guess that means I'll be heading back there to pick up a few more Xmas gifts. My daughter's already hooked. After visiting their website, she told me she "must have" one of those huggy earrings. I'm even eyeing a few stackable rings for myself. I'm so glad I discovered this treasure. There's something for everyone, and the prices start low enough that I don't feel guilty about walking out of there with a few items. read more

WOW & really surprised on 1st review, not to mention how adorable & amazing this store is & can't believe there is only 1 review (which really isn't a helpful one at that.) Bought a couple of friendship bracelets from this shop & $15 for a handcrafted locally made bracelet didn't break my budget-lol Sure there were some higher price-point pieces in the shop but still nothing to write home about. The jewelry alone are pieces of artwork & being an artist myself knowing how much time, love & workmanship goes into these pieces seems reasonable. The shop itself has great energy & friendly girls working there not forgetting how lovely the shop is decorated makes me wanna grab a glass of wine & sit there all day & chat w/the staff. Grand street alone is my favorite street to shop in Williamsburg & to be honest I haven't spent my hard earned money on Bedford in quite sometime.
