One of the most entertaining shows in LA! Fast paced, unhinged, hilarious, and completely unpredictable. Acts vary week to week so you're always seeing new artists do their thing. Plus snacks!

Absolutely my favorite show in Los Angeles! I remember I watched this variety show this a few years ago back when it was in a makeshift warehouse in Echo Park. Now freshly tucked in Hollywood, Boobie Trap guarantees to bring a dazzling array of entertainers from all corners of live performance art! You're in for a good show when a surprise act starts spinning flaming cheeseburger on an umbrella. I don't want to spoil anymore, but two hours of hilarious, down-to-earth entertainment from Scot Nery and the rifting Fire Leopard band keep you laughing and amused thru the show. The atmosphere is fun and casual, leaving plenty of room for good old audience interaction. Stick around to mingle with the performers, and even grab some affordable tacos at the cart that will suddenly appear. There's a parking lot convenient for you, but plenty of street parking about if lucky. I'm glad I stumbled upon this show a second time and highly recommend it to treat yourself out on a Wednesday night!

Hilarious acts and if you're into that weirdly unique people who love to perform in front of a crowd without being judged, then this is your place. Scot Nery's is full of energy and fun talents that perform anything from magic to stand up comedy to judging plastic bags, yes I said plastic bags HAHA It honestly is weird and funny and you never know how the act will go. But one thing is for sure, you will laugh your butt off. Every Wednesday at 8:00pm. Tickets are $25 and it's first come first seating. Also one thing to keep in mind is that the entrance to Boobie Trap is in the private parking lot. Don't go on Hollywood Blvd.

Wow! - entertainment whiplash! From the super high-energy and quick-witted leader of the show - Scot Nery to the dozens (and dozens) of quick-hitter 4 minute acts - this show packs a punch! We brought our 2 teenage-boys on Thanksgiving-eve to the "family-friendly" evening and all of us had an absolute blast. Too many acts to list - but we loved the English boy-rapper, the angry hula-hooper and the ventriloquist with a ventriloquist. Arrive at 7pm to sit in the front row / bar drinks were reasonably priced / online ticket-prices were great and Scot provides free snacks (as long as you can catch!) Great show - don't miss!

Looking for something different to do on a week night? Scot Nery's Boobie Trap offers a random variety act every Wednesday night at 8 pm, found in downtown LA. Purchase tickets on line for a cheaper price of $17 ($25 at the door). Seating is 1st come, 1st serve (doors open as early as 7 pm if you want to come early but there is still plenty of good seats 20 minutes before 8 pm). Each show last 90 minutes and guests get to see 15-20 different acts. When my husband came by here last week, we saw acts that included 2 magicians, a duo aerial circus act, a female contortionist, 2 people playing a guitar and singing, 1 person rapping, 1 comedian, 1 odd mime act, a weird person dressed up as a pumpkin and claiming to be pumpkin spice (don't ask... it was kind of creepy), a juggler. Our show started a little late because of some problems with the stage, which may be the reason why we saw a few less shows than the average of acts that perform weekly. Each performer is given up to 4 minutes. If they go over, they are subject to a boobie trap (unfortunately every performer stayed within the time and so I have no idea what the "boobie trap" consequence is for a performer that goes over the time limit). Seats are plastic chairs, which aren't the most comfortable. Be careful when sitting on one because a chair cracked and broke when this woman sat on one after a little while. Sometime during the show (maybe after an hour? Maybe this is an unofficial intermission?), Scot Nery will throw snacks (on this visit, they were the small size chips) at the audience. Please note that there is a bar available for you to purchase alcoholic drinks and cocktails. After the show ends around 9:30 pm, guests are welcomed to stay for Sideboob, the after party (such an appropriate name). There are restrooms here (the ladies' restroom was clean and most of the stalls had toilet paper and seat covers, but some did not have either). Being that this is a variety act type of show, you will essentially see different performances each week (although there seems to be repeat performers). Of the shows we saw, I really only liked about half of them. But the idea of the Boobie Trap show does intrigue me and makes me want to come back for a future visit (in hopes of seeing some other great acts). By the way, there is free street parking in certain places, after 8 pm. There is also a parking lot (paid lot) at the entrance of Boobie Trap. Please note that the entrance to Boobie Trap is actually in the back. The building itself is unmarked, but there is a Boobie Trap poster in the window, with a small little note that says entrance is in the back.

This is an act you just have to see for yourselves. Let's just say he has incredible muscular control.

From the gorgeous costumes to the seamless scene transitions, every detail was beautifully executed. The set design and overall production quality were truly spectacular, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The sound quality was excellent. I could clearly understand everything the actors were saying, even from my seat in the back of the Orchestra section. The live orchestra was phenomenal--the music was absolutely beautiful and added so much emotion and energy to the performance. The theater itself is gorgeous. During intermission, I walked upstairs to take in the entire space, and I was in awe of how beautiful and grand the venue is. It's worth taking a few minutes to explore and appreciate the architecture. I sat in the Orchestra section, Section ZZ, right by the aisle. While the seats were still enjoyable, my view was partially obstructed by the overhang from the upper level. There was also a scene involving the iconic chandelier where I wished I had been seated a bit closer so I could fully appreciate the effect and see more of the theater from that perspective. Intermission was about 20 minutes long, which gave everyone enough time to stretch, explore the theater, and grab refreshments. They offer a full bar, wine, snacks like candy and pretzels, and souvenirs are also available for purchase during intermission. One tip: as soon as intermission begins, head straight to the women's restroom. I was able to get there right away and was first in line. Within minutes, the line became incredibly long! The employees were also incredibly friendly and professional. They did a great job ensuring guests stayed off their phones so the bright screens wouldn't distract others during the performance. I also appreciated that once the show started, late seating was held for approximately the first 10 minutes to minimize disruptions. After that, guests were allowed to enter and exit as needed. Even with the partially obstructed view, the performance was so incredible that it didn't take away from the overall experience. If you're planning to attend, I would recommend sitting a little closer if your budget allows. Regardless, it's an unforgettable experience, and I can't wait to return to the Hollywood Pantages for another show.

The "Cinderella" of venues, it takes the grand, outdoor setting of the Bowl (concrete Jerusalem gates carved into the Hollywood hills) and the intimacy of a backyard party. (The Theater, I mean, not loud, hairy Niko guy next to you). And being tucked into a natural canyon makes the acoustics extra crispy, which made Erasure (10 years ago today) one of my favorite concerts. He called me "Biggie Fries" all night, referencing Wendy's Value Meal. Anyway, it only hosted Christ plays (I would have called it "Nailed iT!") until the 1964 separation of church and state opened the venue to all arts. It was named after the county supervisor John Anson Ford, who was a champion of the arts. The Ford is as fun as advertised, and I've already begun recommending it to my friends. This place has history, and you can feel it! Additionally, there isn't a bad seat in the house! We sat in Row P, and when I arrived, I took it all in. There's certainly a bit of magic here. The only negative is the parking. The different acts featured a variety of music genres, so there's something for everyone's taste! The show was about 2 hours in length with a 15 minute intermission between the first and second half of the show.
