Cash deal- Would have been another sale to add to the "Volume" but whatever. Oh and I loved the line about driving off with equity. What? We all know the moment you drive off the lot the value drops. Had my car in a couple of years ago for a recall. The car was dropped off the night before and when I called at noon to find out if the two hour recall had been completed, the staff was argumentative and couldn't give me a completion time. I showed up at the end of the day to pick it up not knowing if the service had been done. When I opened my hood a couple of weeks later, MY ENGINE PROP ROD WAS MISSING. To top that off, another family member emailed about purchasing a new car and the response was, "what you need?" I have purchased several cars there since 1999 and I will NEVER, EVER GO BACK. Thursday, March 26, 2026: it is incredible to me that customer service at Scott Clark is so atrocious. I sold the car I purchased and am trying to get a refund for the service contract and oil change contract that I purchased from Scott Clark Toyota. I initiated cancellation with the two companies providing these services and to date had no update. So I called and the service contract was canceled but no refund issued. I was told that Scott Clark Toyota would issue the refund for the service contract. I called the general manager, the finance manager and someone else (not sure his title). No one answered their phone, and if I were transferred to voicemail either they did not return my call or the voicemail was full and not accepting voicemails. For years it was great, but things went downhill fast in the last year. Last time I was there for an oil change they replaced the oil pan plug with one that fit poorly. They never told me about it and never documented it. Guess they were trying to drum up business for next time. I didn't find out until today when I went elsewhere to get an oil change and found out what was done. What I want to know is why this was done and why wasn't it documented that the oil pan plug was replaced. Great way to lose a customer of over 15 years. Needless to say I won't be back and I've already made arrangements to get this fixed elsewhere. read more

The guy at the counter asks can I help you , didn't even look at me says you bought from us before , I said no , he says to write down my info on a note pad and proceeds to help the guy in line behind me . Paid a visit to Scott Clark yesterday since I have a coupon for a free oil change once I pay for 3. The advertised price is $34.95 but of course I never get out for that since I need 7 qts of oil not the 5 the coupon covers. I don't drive as much as I used to so it is still cost effective even at $50 and I like their free coffee. And having been an engineering manager all my working life I love messing with them. Here are a couple of examples. Just before they finish they send me a list of additional services they are sure I need to have. At this visit it was replacing the cabin filter. As usual I said 'no thanks'. That is when I ran down the list of courtesy safety checks they said they performed and singled out inflation in the spare and wheel alignment. The spare tire box was not checked as being done, so when the service assistant came to tell me the car was ready, I said it was not. She looked confused so I said I needed the spare checked and made at least 34 psi. Her day was likely not going well already apparently, and I suspected that was due to her usually not having any technical issues in her old job as a cashier at Harris Teeter. But the real fun came when I asked what 'passed' meant in the alignment box. More confused looks. 'When you first drive in to the service bay two units you pass check the alignment', she said. I asked if I could have the print out of that check. At that point the blank look on her face told me all I needed to know. These units likely have a 'GO-NO GO' check the computer uses but I wanted to know what that NO-GO number was. I talked to a few others but no one knew. Likely, and this is my thinking, people have been coming in asking for a true check of their alignment. That takes some time to set up, and though it might be useful in obtaining $150 alignment adder to their service bill, to avoid that, and the no charge service time, they can simply say, 'the computer scanned your wheels on the way in. Admittedly, speaking with dealers is a thing that can never be enjoyable. But my experience with this one was worse than from others. First, the dealer I spoke seemed not very familiar with email and PDF things. Okay, that's understandable. But the worst thing was, I felt that he tried to do a bait-and-switch. After agreeing on the price, he asked me to sign on a paper that a different car is on it (1 yr older model). This is a typical red flag. Also, I didn't like they asking for the full details of the credit card including CVV on paper, after started to doubting them. We received exceptional service from service manager Pete Acree, cashier Yvette as well as Chris in the parts center. We brought in our 2024 4Runner for its first oil change/5k mile service and our experience was amazing. Everything from when we called to schedule the appointment to waiting at the dealership for the work to be completed, went perfectly and everyone was very nice. The service was completed very quickly and the waiting area was very comfortable. The wait wasn't long at all and they were very busy. Highly recommend their service department, and I'm very thankful that they prioritize such individualized service, even though they are such a big/popular dealership. read more

I had a great experience at Scott Toyota two weeks ago. Was I looking to purchase a car and leave that day in one? Yes and no. Yes, I was looking to purchase a car but I didn't know that I would be leaving in one that day. Can I say that Jaime was awesome. I am so thankful that he took care of me. I didn't feel that I was being taken advantage of because I am a female. They had so many cars to choose from on their lot. He got my car I was looking at and pulled it to the front. We took a test drive and he explained all the features. I was able to buy the car that day. Konner took really good care of me and was patient. Its the most expensive car I have ever bought so it made me really nervous. After a few days of having the car, Jaime gave me a courtesy call just to check in with me. Dishonest, Disorganized, and Disrespectful - Stay Away My experience with this dealership was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. I had agreed on a price for a vehicle with sales associate Ethan Moore, and he urged me to come in before closing on Wednesday, 5/28, to lock in the deal. I rushed over as requested -- only to be completely ignored upon arrival. No one greeted me, and since it was closing time, I left without any communication or acknowledgment. Still trying to give them a chance, I came back on Saturday, 5/31. I even confirmed with the dealership just one hour prior that the vehicle was still available at the agreed-upon price. But when I arrived, I was told it had been sold earlier that morning. Now I was told I could order the exact same car with the same options, but suddenly the price had gone up. I had text messages from Ethan Moore confirming the original price, yet they refused to honor it. Sales Manager Eddie Powell brought over his higher-up, Kannon Baker (later found out he's another sales manager, lies again) and when I asked what had changed to justify the price increase, Baker shouted, "This is the final price -- take it or leave it." I said I was leaning toward leaving it, and when I asked for his business card, he simply stormed off. This dealership wasted my time, misled me, and treated me with complete disrespect. I was trying to buy a used vehicle from this dealer.I was ask by the salesperson to fill out a credit application so they could do a soft inquiry that would not affect my credit. I am assuming that is what the manager told him, but I don't know that to be fact. Then all of a sudden I started getting notices that hard inquiries were done on my credit. They tried to offer me a high interest rate, which I refused. I was really upset they were having a few lenders check my credit. I was basically lied too and they should have ask me before having all these hard inquiries on my credit. i am going to call the credit bureaus and ask them to remove these inquiries when I didn't give permission for them to check my credit. High pressure sales and zero customer service. Six weeks after purchasing a new car I realized that I still hadn't received anything from the dmv reflecting the registration of my new vehicle. So I go on the dmv site and also, nothing. Still shows my old car. I left FIVE messages for their registration/title person (Pam) and received zero response. Finally just drove over to sort it out. Don't recommend. This issue with "Engine require the maintenance" message of "coolant bypass hose" is know issue, it happens most of on all RAV4 and Camry models. But dealership still wants to charge funds from clients. There should be manufacture recall for this issue. It shouldn't be on 53000 mileage. They charged it on me "As of June 17, 2024, there is a class action lawsuit against Toyota over issues with the coolant bypass valves in the 2019-2023 RAV4 and Corolla models. Some owners have reported that this defect could affect the vehicle's performance and longevity, and may result in expensive repairs. The plaintiffs claim that Toyota is guilty of violating the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, and California's Unfair Competition Law, Consumers Legal Remedies Act, and Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act. I was shopping for a Corolla Cross and the dealer Rep. was great. However when it came to getting pricing from the manager, they added $3,500 to the MSRP of $31.7k for floor mats, window tint and mud guards- and they claim they put those items on every car for dealer prep and charge that amount. It's a complete rip off to jack the starting point by more than 10%. I also had 3 managers call me to ask how I was treated but crickets once I challenged the ridiculous add ons. I ended up buying out of state where they gave me delivery and much more honest and transparent pricing and negotiations. Do yourself a favor- if Scott Clark has a car you want, negotiate somewhere else and maybe they will match- but it's a complete waste of time otherwise as you will never get a good deal if you start there. read more

As I don't drive too much, I was able to get oil change and tire rotation as well as recall work I was there 41/2 hrs but brought a book and sat in comfy chair. BUYER BEWARE!! - We had a DEPLOARABLE experience with Scott Clarke dealership. On 4/12/25, we decided to buy a used Toyota and were asked to wait while it was 'checked out 'in their shop. We bought the car on 4/19/25 with a 10-day return policy (which seemed too good to be true, and it was too good to be true!). Just two days later, on 4/21/25, we returned it due to starting issues. The dealership scoffed at this, ran diagnostics and claimed there was nothing wrong with it. They shoved a wad of papers in our chest and dismissed the situation. Just bought a 2025 Highlander with my husband from this joke of a stealership. He handled most of it, but i was privy to the lies they tried to pull. Chris was our salesperson and my husband said he was great and honest, apparently even offered him a job. Nothing but lies and problems from everyone else involved in the deal. Told us we had to use their transporter only to find out the guy that told us that is married to the owner of the transportation company. Problems with the finance department trying to squeeze extra money out of us. Wrong paperwork being sent out, expecting a car with 7 miles (because thats what we signed for) but it having almost 150 when it was delivered. No paperwork delivered with the car. I've had nothing but good experiences at Scott Clark Toyota buying parts for my 2004 V-8 4Runner and service for my 2015 Prius. Prices are in line with other dealerships, that is to say slightly more expensive than independent shops but that should not come to a shock to anybody. Wayne in parts called me from his personal cell phone once to tell me I have parts in. Now consider for a moment that I'm not spending thousands of dollars here, just the odd part for my truck and basic maintenance for my Prius and yet I get a call from a team members personal phone. I appreciate the experience I had here. Easy & smooth. I'm surprised at the negative reviews I had read before coming here, it made me nervous to take my car here. My wife called to schedule an appointment for our 2007 Toyota Tundra and told them the serpentine belt needed to be replaced. She was told because of the age and mileage of the vehicle they couldn't work on it, but since we had been there before they would work on it. They wanted to do a diagnostic for over a hundred dollars and she informed them it was not needed. My wife stated that they had written down that the truck was "running ruff." We had changed the serpentine belt before and it took us 15 minutes not counting the time we spent going back and forth to the store for the right tools. An older woman at the dealership was assisting and had no clue as to the pricing and what the issue was. I asked to speak with her on the phone and was told that it would be 3-4 hours for service and to replace the belt would cost over $700 to replace. She stated that a certified Toyota technician had to change it. I informed her that it should take them 5 minutes to change and she was unable to explain why it would cost over seven hundred dollars to put on. The older woman became upset and refused to speak with me any further. I have had my Tundra for over 17 years and a loyal customer bragging about my Tundra. After this experience I will have to go with another brand. So disappointed in Scott Clark and customer service. Toyota great reliability, horrible customer service and over priced repairs. Do better Mr. Clark, I'm sure you see all the negative reviews and you still refuse to do anything about it. Will never visit Scott Clark Toyota again. SERVICE DEPARTMENT VERY QUESTIONABLE * Charged 23% more for OEM parts than four other dealers. * Neglected to replace one CV boot; required return visit. * Claimed tire pressure checked/adjusted but did not. Tires overinflated by 11 psi (front) and 8 psi (rear). * No response to four requests over five days for cost to replace front axle seal. In summary, I believe the Service Department at Scott Clark Toyota to be a combination of marginally competent, disinterested in servicing older model vehicles and greedy to a fault. My distrust of the Service Department has grown over the years and this recent experience greatly reinforces my negative opinion of them. Details supporting this statement are below. June 19, 2024 - My older model truck was dropped at Scott Clark Toyota for replacement of all CV and front axle boots plus water pump and timing belt. Service Advisor (K. Cramer) recommended replacement of rack & pinion as well as new front brake rotors/pads and alignment. Parts cost of $1,685 and total cost of $4,500. Picked up truck a day later with no issues noted. July 8, 2024 - I observed that left CV boot had not been replaced per invoice. Returned truck to Scott Clark and they kept it 24 hours for repair. My parts research determined that Scott Clark charged an average of 23% more for the parts than four other Toyota dealers with internet sales (Modern, Olathe, Lagrange, Lakeland). According to the Service Advisor, the cost difference was attributable to other dealers' "wholesale pricing". When I pointed out that the other dealers' pricing was available to anyone, I received no response. I asked Service Advisor to have a Service Dept Manager to call me about this pricing difference but Advisor declined. I left a message for Service Dept Manager (A. Newton) about this pricing discrepancy but received no call back. At second pick up, I noticed a leak of steering fluid or differential fluid at right side of front axle. I requested a cost for repair of the seal and Service Advisor said he'd check with Technician about cost and get back with me. I've followed up with three messages to Service Advisor regarding cost but have not received a cost. The tires were observed by me to be over-inflated upon return home. Front and rear tires at 37 psi vs specs of 26 psi for front and 29 psi rear. I inquired to Service Advisor if multipoint inspection included tire pressure check/ adjustment and he assured me it did. Bottom line; don't do business here, people were hard to get a hold of and they might even sell your dream car right from underneath you even after you're told they would hold it for you. Details for anyone interested: Saw they had a very nice Camaro SS posted for $35,000 on Wednesday so I called them Thursday morning to confirm availability of the car and possibly put a down payment down. I was made aware that apparently the price of the car was supposed to be 42,000, but since I had found it as it was at $35,000, they would respect my price. So I went ahead with my notion to try to put a down payment on the car, but they stated that they don't take deposits over the phone. So I asked Annah what can I do to hold the car for myself and she made me aware that if I submitted a credit application through them then that would hold the car for me. So I went ahead and finished the application to completion and sent Annah a screenshot to confirm that it was completed, there after ana made me aware that since I was going to drive up to North Carolina from Houston she would remove the car off the market so that way I can come and get it on Saturday morning. After getting all the financing done through my bank and getting approved, I made them aware that I would be leaving work from Houston on Friday after work and drive straight there too pick up the car. Friday morning I received a phone call from Justin to confirm I was still coming to which I said absolutely I'll be there right when y'all open on Saturday morning. 30 minutes later I received a text from Justin saying that the car was "unfortunately no longer available" and that it was sold. read more

I had a great experience with Scott Clark Toyota, starting, but not ending with the sales guy I worked with. This is to share my experience. Let me start by saying that I have bought about 10 cars over my life, about half new from the dealer, and have never had a good experience. I'm no fan of car dealers. I had been looking for a new hybrid SUV for almost a year. Due to parts shortages, regular gas cars have been on allocation, and hybrids, not being popular in the gas-guzzling south, even harder to find here in NC. An ad would appear online in the morning and the car would be gone by nightfall. Over 2023 I engaged with around 15 dealers of Toyotas, Fords, Volvos, Mazdas and Subarus. I'm a big guy, so comfort and fit in the driver's seat is key. Based on this I narrowed my choices down to the Toyota Grand Highlander. The fit wasn't perfect, but the mileage was best in class, and as an owner of a 20-year-old Sienna, I knew the quality. I talked to 5 Toyota dealers. Enter Scott Clark, and their sales guy, Nino H. During my test drive of the Grand Highlander back in September, when I commented on the just-OK legroom, Nino said that I should test drive the regular Highlander. It's a bit shorter bumper-to-bumper, he said, but the legroom - width and length, was better. He knew the specs by memory. He wasn't pushy about it, but rather, helpful. His advice was right, and I told him I was ready to buy. He said that they had no way of reserving a car because they did not know what Toyota would send them. But he took down every detail about what I wanted and said he'd let me know when they received an allocation that included my pick. He checked in every 1-2 weeks with a quick text update: "Hey it's Nino. Nothing yet, but I'm still looking. Talk to you next week." During this time I was deluged with pushy calls and robo-text messages from all the other dealers insisting that I "come on down" before their would give me any real info. In December Scott Clark was notified that a car fitting my specs was coming. When the car arrived, it was 2 days before I had a 1-week business trip. I told Nino that I needed to sign the papers and pick up the car in 2 hours on the following morning. He told me how to prepare my loan and insurance info to get in and out quickly. I went to the dealership and negotiated a fair price. I had done research at Kelly and Edmunds and knew the market rate. They knocked off some for things Toyota added but I did not need ($75 phone charger cables?) and got me to my target price. When I arrived, they were ready. Nino, the support staff and the paperwork guy (Ronnie?) were professional, respectful and fast. In sum, it was a great experience. Kudos to Nino for being an honest, professional and helpful consultant. It's clear that he and the rest of the staff reflect a culture that I could not find at other dealers. Nice work. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!! If I could give zero stars I would. First they told me I had to use their transport company, but failed to mention that that company was owned by the sales managers' wife. Next it took a week of phone calls to the dealership to get wire instructions. I had to threaten to cancel the deal before they sent them to me. Then the finance guy tried telling me I had to pay a higher than agreed to interest rate, when questioned he said it was only for "well qualified buyers". (I have a credit score of 844 and was putting more than half down.) He then tried telling me it was because I live in a different location even though Toyota.com says buyer location doesn't matter. Paperwork was finally sent to a notary, but the contract was wrong. The rate, term and payment were not the agreed amounts. Had to wait for another correction. They suggested I sign the delivered contract and let them amend it after the fact. I obviously declined. Vehicle finally arrived this morning with 136 more miles than the signed paperwork stated it had, and without any of the necessarydocuments that.show I actually own this car. Nothing about this dealership or the deal was pleasant except for my salesman Chris. He is the only reason I didn't walk away from the deal. I would definitely buy from him again, but not from this joke of a dealership. Their biggest concern at the end was "Are you going to leave us a bad review". I did get $500 back from them, but at this point it feels like a slap in the face. read more
