Scott Drexler did such amazing work for our wedding. To start, his personality really is how his bio explains! He was full of energy, Hawaiian vibes, fun and happiness. He was playful yet professional and got the work done super efficiently for our one hour time window! We were we blown away by the pictures and his attention to detail really shows. First: I hardly ever give 5 stars to anyone. Everyone has room to be better. We are completely thrilled with Scott Drexler. What a wonderful, fun, aloha-spirited person! Scott was a good friend at the second we met, when I was wringing my hands and just about ready to "get to it already!" Scott fit into our family right away. He is a true artist and captured the silly, the joy and love my husband and I have for each other. We hired Scott to do our wedding photography in March of 2017. Our experience with Scott and his team was unbelievable. We met with him for an initial consultation a few months before the date, and right away we could tell that he was going to be able to great job. The examples he brought really showed his skill as a photographer. His personality was friendly and professional, and he worked to get exactly what we wanted for our wedding day. We left our initial meeting confident that Scott understood what we wanted out of our photos, and that he had the right personality to ensure he got the right shots without being too pushy, or offending any of our guests in the process. Very important! We had 75 people at our wedding, and a long list of group photos to get through. Scott had just the right amount of instruction to keep the ball rolling, and get our shots in the time we had. He worked perfectly with our wedding planner. His assistants were instrumental with the smaller details, instructing us on wardrobe adjustments and posture to get a great photo every time. His turnaround time is absolutely top notch. We were still on our honeymoon when we received our 'first look' at some of the shots (approximately 4 days after the ceremony). Included in the first look was a slideshow of some of the more memorable events of the day, spliced in with drone video footage of our venue and event, all set to the song we had chosen for our first dance. It blew our minds. We had no idea the drone that was buzzing around the public beach next to the venue was there for us, and the slideshow was a massive surprise. The production quality was phenomenal! We seriously want to share it with everyone, it's soooo good (even though we know that would probably be super annoying). The proofs of all the photos followed via a web link about a week and a half after the ceremony. Before the ceremony and after, they took some great candid and staged shots. Looking through the photos after we got back, I was really transformed back to the day. The pictures invoked lots of great memories. We were sent a USB stick with all of the photos, in two sizes: one higher resolution for printing, and one lower resolution for web. We were also provided with a temporary web gallery where we could view the photos before we received the USB stick. We were in awe when we viewed the photos. There were so many great shots. Lots of great pictures of just the two of us, and lovely shots of all our guests. We loved his work so much we ordered some printed books from him for ourselves and both sets of our parents. Scott came as a recommendation from my wedding planner, and it would be doing Scott (and other brides) a disservice not recommending him onto others. Scott was absolutely amazing to work with. I was nervous about the wedding photo process, but Scott made it stress-free, easy and more importantly fun! We had a wedding at the Fours Seasons Resort. To say the photos were amazing simply does not do this review justice. If there were six stars, he would get them. We were looking for the following in a wedding photographer 1) great eye 2) nice 3) good communication 4) professional 5) competitive pricing. Weddings are a huge headache and having a good wedding photographer is so essential. What we got was far far more than we expected. 1) Great eye- I am a semi professional music photographer. I have good equipment and I know when people are good, have a good eye, know what they are doing. Nothing is more frustrating than seeing poor composition, or being slow and clumsy. And this is a humbling comment, Scott was out of my league. And it wasn't close. By ten minutes into the shoot, I knew that I didn't have to think. He had it covered and he had it covered far better than I could even on my best day. 2) Nice- Over and beyond nice. Disarmingly nice. So great. A wedding can be a huge stress fest. In quick order, he made me and my wife so comfortable and at ease. It was a new experience for us, but this was not his first rodeo. He knew what to say, how to say it and when to say it. By the end, we were having so much fun. 3) Communication- The last thing you want is a wild card in the form of "is this guy gonna show up?" "Where do we meet him?" He was super punctual. Very effective with email leading up to the wedding and great communication with the people at the hotel. 4) Professional- In addition to have great technical skills and great personality, he was incredibly respectful as well. Very polite and professional. Yet you felt comfortable letting loose in the end and you ended up feeling that you had your close friend shooting your wedding. We were so happy we got to share it with him. 5) Pricing- if you are price sensitive or even if you are rich, his pricing is competitive with his peers. Yet his skill is far above it. However, from that initial meeting we knew we had made the right decision to have Scott photograph our wedding. Scott had an extensive knowledge of our venue, The Grand Wailea, having previously shot many weddings there. Any worries I had were put at ease as we listened to him talk in detail with our planner about specific elevators we needed to meet at to ensure the first look would go off without a hitch and various locations around the property to capture the look we were going for in our photographs. Additionally, Scott has a personality that gives off such a positive and fun energy. On the day of the wedding there was a large rain storm for majority of the afternoon which caused worries that we would not be able to take photographs in the natural settings I had preferred. When Scott and Kimi showed up they were completely unfazed by the weather and were so incredibly delightful, I couldn't help but smile and not worry about the rain. Scott was quick on his feet and knew of another location were we could take photos with a natural background but still be covered by a building. With their assistance, we were able to capture some amazing first look and group shots in the drizzle while managing to keep everyone fairly dry. The rain ultimately stopped, and Scott was able to capture many incredible shots in which you can't even tell it had been raining all afternoon. Scott's turnaround time is phenomenal! Less than a week after our wedding the preview was available on his blog. Within two weeks all our photos were available to view and our flash drive of digital images arrived at our home, beating us back from our honeymoon!
