I really enjoy the coconut tofu with beans and brussel sprouts but the other food I've tried has been a let down. Amazing gluten free baked goods. A nice spot outside of town. But the food is the slowest...actually blows the mind. My friends and I call in an order and pick it up! I still give it four stars for being different on an island filled w lobster rolls. read more

Waited 25 minutes for an egg and cheese sandwich for my son, it arrived covered in pepper, with no visible cheese. He took one bite and gagged. When I asked, very politely, for a refund, I was told they "don't do refunds." They said their sandwiches always come covered in pepper so "I got what I ordered." Obnoxious customer service. I would definitely recommend nearby Fella's or Humphrey's instead, especially if you have kids. read more

Worst service on the island. Waited for our breakfast sandwich for 30 min. Left without them because we got tired of waiting. Received no refund or anything. Just got to 7A. Better service and a much better sandwich. Been coming to the island for years and this is just disappointing. This should be called "The Scottish Fakehouse." The original owners -- actual Scots -- are long gone, and the meals are undistinguished in any way except bulk. The cashier was bored and unhelpful, and we ate off a shelf while squeezed on to a tight row of stools. Take a pass. read more

Great baked goods! So many gluten free options and there's always something new! I have loved every gluten free treat I have got, and it's been a lot. Great options for food and the workers are super friendly, but the kitchen staff doesn't seem to have it together as it is PAINFULLY slow! My family and I stopped into the bakery on our last day on the island. We were very excited to try the resturant because I have to eat gluten free and my sister is a vegan. When ordering the service was decent , but the real issue arised while we were waiting for our food. The young man at the counter informed us that we would have a 20 minute wait. The only issue was that we actually had a 50 minute wait. During this time my sister went up to the counter 3 different times because families that had ordered after us by 15 to 20 minutes were getting their food before we were. The last time that my sister went up to the counter I went along with her and we requested to know why our food was taking so long. At this point we were speaking to a young woman who went to the kitchen to figure out what was going on. She proceeds to walk into the kitchen, ask about our food and then started chatting it up in the back with one of the women preparing the food, when we were clearly waiting for her response. After her conversation had concluded, the young lady came back from the kitchen to inform us that the reason why the food took so long was because they did not want to cook the vegan food on the same grill with the pork without rinsing it off. This would have been useful information if we were told this when we first ordered the food or the 2 out of 3 times my sister walked up to the counter. The food was good , but the grilled cheese I received was tiny. I wish we had a pleasant service experience , but due to the poor service we will not be back. read more

This place is friendly, delicious and great for the community. They have vegitarian, gluten free and locally sourced ingredients! We stop in for lunch once in a while and had them cater our wedding and couldn't have been happier! In fact the food was so good at the wedding that our guests couldn't stop raving about it. My girlfriends and I are very into food and at least 4 of them went home and tried to replicate the meal. I highly recommend them for catering and take out! read more

The Scottish Bakehouse is simply adorable. I always see people eating outside at the picnic tables in the warmer months. I love that they serve their breakfast sandwich all day. It is the best breakfast sandwich deal on the island in my opinion. Large size english muffin, 2 eggs, and you can add meat and various veggies for no extra cost. Total $4, awesome. Plus, its really good. I haven't tried any of their other food items yet, but the salads in their prepared case look awesome. I look forward to trying to greek orzo salad. The staff is really friendly and I enjoy the experience. The one place they are lacking? While the baked goods look delish, the cakes are very dry, I didn't finish it, which says a lot. Otherwise, I'll keep coming back for more! read more

I hate to leave a bad review and I don't think the owner of this place will even care enough to fix the issue but oh well :( I went in to get breakfast and it was just not good the food used to be soooooo good. Beacaues it used to be good I giving it 2 stars. I ordered Chai and was told they are out of milk intill tomorrow and if I wanted Chai I would have to pay $2 more for soy milk as 2 for a bit of milk is crazy. So I figured I would got without my tea and just order a breakfast sandwich. The staff was so rude ....well not rude mostly likely high as one smelled like pot. When my food was was ready she just gave me my sandwich and when I asked for bag was so rude. ( It was a Togo order) we I left I decided to call and the person on the phone who answered claimed to be a manager and said well what do you want me to do about it. The cost of almond is on the rise because of the lack of rain and I said well what about soy ..soy one of the easiest things to grow and soy milk was not on the rise. He did not care that his staff was RUDE and didn't think to order more milk. read more
