My truck stalled out and AAA took it to Scott's. I was told that that was my only choice. I figured well we will just see how it goes. I called the shop the next morning and told them that I thought it was either a pass lock anti theft issue because of worn ignition assembly or the fuel pump. I told them the fuel pump was warrantied by another shop so that I would obviously be taking the truck there if that's what it ended up being. Well they tell me it was the fuel pump. When I came to get the truck they charged me $140 ish bucks - give or take - to tell me it was the fuel pump. My issue is that they should have known from the jump I may not give them the business because of the warranty. Why was I not told the price for diagnostic until they had the keys to my truck and I had no choice but to pay it? I may have paid been fine with them running diagnostic. If they would have told me about the service that they were providing, with a price, before they performed it. When I protested I was told "sir, any other shop would do the same." Well, I hope that any other shop would inform me they do not give free estimates or diagnostics before they held my truck hostage after they scanned it. It's dishonest, or not transparent, at least. Well our need for Scott's all began on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Failed fans and failing timing belt and water pump made our 2018 Honda Odyssey undependable. We were able to use their Easy to use Online check in and Secure key drop on a Sunday morning and they made personal communication almost immediately that they have us confirmed to look at our concern first thing Tuesday morning. Their pricing was reasonable and their service and communication skills were on point. We will hopefully not have anymore vehicle problems for awhile, but when we do we're heading over to Scott's. read more

I've been here twice for minor things. One oil change (because I was lazy and didn't want to do it myself this time) and one emissions test for vehicle registration. Both times service was fast, easy and everyone was friendly. The only complaint I have so far is the price. For a standard oil change on my gas truck was $168. 8qts of 0W-20 mobile one full synthetic and a stock AC Delco filter cost me ~$80-$90 at autozone. ($38 per 5qt and $11 for filter). Labor charge seems high. Probably won't go back for an oil change but I'd try them again for other minor issues if needed. read more

My second review and just as pleased as the first one. Took the wife's hot rod in for some injector work while I was going out of town for business. Dropped off the vehicle and got a ride back to the house. They called later that day with diagnostic results and had it fixed and ready for pick up the next day. I wasn't able to pick it up in person but paid over the phone and had a family member pick up the car. Such great people to do business with (thanks Scott and Jennifer) and you don't get the attempts to "upsell you" on everything. Here is what the problem is, cost, and our recommendation. Contacted a small franchise repair shop in town and was quoted a very high price for either. Contacted a small business in town and they were too busy to get me in. My vehicle's alternator when out & of course my vehicle ends up at you guessed it, Scott's Automotive & Transmission. So once the shop contact reached out to advise me of the cost I kept saying to the man, that seems very expensive & his reply was a bunch of gibberish. He quoted me $1366.99 US Dollars, mind you, this was the only thing wrong with my vehicle. He stated my warranty company was only paying manufactures rates & I would be responsible for my $250.00 deducible & the remaining balance, so I listened intently for my portion of this astronomical quote. So, I was advised that the Warranty Company was only paying roughly $600 & some change & I would be responsible for $700 & some change. I was also told that if I paid with a credit card I would be charged $45 however, If I paid in cash, I would not be charged the $45. I was just too done that this repair was going to be this expensive, so I called my warranty company back & asked a few questions. I also googled what are the cost of alternators & found that they could run between $361-$548. The shop charges $1069.91 that $ 166.20 for Labor - $834.84 for the alternator. Wow! I get a 2nd call stating that my battery will not keep it's charge so that will need to be replaced and that came to $238.61. So that was $70.04 Labor $ 147.41. So I go to pick up my vehicle and I actually see the bill and I see all the charges listed on the bill: Diag-Hard Start: $138.00, Remove & Replace the Alterntor Labor $166.20 & $834.84, Remove & Replace Battery: $$79.04 & $147.41, RO Fees: Shop Supplies $54.47 & Cash Discount $54.64= $1560.63. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! DONT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!!!, THEY WILL ROB YOU BLIND. First things first, I have always worked on cars with my father so I know how to keep up with the maintenance for my vehicles. Car was in great shape all it needed a was a water pump replacement cause I didn't have the proper tools for my car. After they replaced it I began to get a leak of coolant but it wasn't dripping on floor it was going inside the engine and mixing up with engine oil. Then the gear shift begins to have problems. So I take it back to get the water pump checked out and apparently "it's faulty" rather than saying they installed it incorrectly they blamed it on the part. They TOOK ALMOST $2,000 to repair the gear shift and RE-install the water pump. TO THIS DAY I STILL HAVE A LEAK AND NOW THE OXYGEN SENSOR IS OUT? CAUSING ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. I brought my car in to diagnose why it was hesitating, and ended up with a long list of repairs totaling over $4000. I needed a $500 tune up, $200 to clean off my motor, my suspension was "worn", and a $3400 transmission for a car that has never once hesitated to switch gears and has never given me any cause for concern prior to the reason I brought it in, in the first place. He said without actually saying it, your car is a piece of shit and it's not worth repairing. Well no, not at your prices, certainly not. I picked it up the next day, my husband did a tune up, noting that two spark plugs had oil on them, changed my oil, checked out the transmission oil, and guess what... it drives just fine. I had a minor electrical problem that was just beyond my ability to repair, so I needed a mechanic that was not only close to my home but one that was fair and honest. I brought my car in at opening time and was greeted warmly. My info was taken as was a description of the problem. My car was taken promptly to the bay and the work began. Throughout my stay there, Nate regularly updated me on the progress and what the problem might be as well as informing me that they would give everything a look while they worked on the main issue. Thankfully my repair was minor and I was only charged for the actual time it took to diagnose and repair the problem. As far as other issues that would need attention in the future, Nate was very clear about them and pointed them out so that I was aware and could make an informed decision. There were no doomsday scenarios or scare tactics used to get me to have them do more work. He was very professional and wasn't pushy at all--an A+ in my book! I have used Scotts for years now. recently we had one of our service trucks drop dead on us so we dropped it off for quick look. We had just purchased this 2012 GMC 1500 and were surprised hear we needed new engine and Transmission rebuilt. After some research on line they were dead on with GMC issue and well this truck was one of them. After some crunching some numbers on these high dollar fixes we come to agreement to install rebuilt engine and rebuild the transmission. Our biggest issue was the timing of the year and having our truck not working making us money. We install shower glass and have customers lined up ready for install. So everyday that truck is off the road we are losing money. Needless to say and I still cant believe it, Dillon and manual jumped through hoops and truck was ready for pick up in week! If I could give a lower review, I would, but one star is the lowest. Do not waste your time with these clowns unless you want to deal with a poorly managed facility who will lie to you and insult you. Summary: I visited this location last weekend for an oil change, a state inspection, and an alignment. PRIOR to work being conducted, I stated that I wanted to take advantage of the everyday promotion for $5 off an oil change when getting a state inspection. That was understood at the time by the manager who took my order. However, about 30 minutes later, one of the workers came in to let me know that my vehicle was complete and I was ready to go. He informed me that the alignment and state inspection could not be conducted due to my two front tires being a bit worn due to the current poor alignment conditions. I fully understood this and was willing to go purchase new tires right that second. He told me that they went ahead and conducted the oil change and it would be full price. I told him that I was a little upset because I felt that if there was an issue with my order, they should have contacted me prior to work being conducted knowing that I was requesting an everyday promotion. It was as easy as me running up the street and getting new tires, coming back, and then they could do full order. The rude worker decided, in front of two other customers waiting in the waiting room, to insult me and say, "If you want to cry over $5, I will just give it to you." I said, "Yes, I will take it." He gave me the money and said "Get out, we don't need people like you." So, if I am understanding him correctly, he is speaking for management and Mr. Scott saying that all customers that come in for promotions are not good customers and they don't need them. I literally did nothing more than request a promotion, and this was the outcome. I will keep that in mind, and I won't be returning. I spoke with the manager, who was nice and refunded my money without me asking. However, he assured me that Mr. Scott, the owner, would be calling me this past Monday to discuss the matter, but of course it must not be important enough to them to take care of their customers or business because I have not heard a single thing from them. While the quality of work "might" be good, don't expect good service from them, especially if you are using a coupon from the mailers. read more

I was driving from LA to Florida and as I was leaving Texas, my car just stopped in the freeway! AAA came and towed my car to Scott's Automotive and Transmission. They looked over my car and discovered that it was my timing belt. They started working on my car right away and it only took about 4 hours to complete! I was able to continue on my trip to my next destination and still made it there in time for dinner. While I was waiting they were very friendly and even gave me a ride to get something to eat. The waiting area is very clean and comfortable with couches and a TV. Not bad if you have to spend 4 hours there. I would definitely take your car here if you want fast, friendly service.
