I love this place and if the wait is long we go to the bar, which is also great. It's pricey, but great for date night.

I can officially stop saying, "I can't find great food in Northeast Georgia." The Stag has solved that problem. This place has undergone a total transformation since my last visit--new décor, new chef, new staff, and an entirely new menu. Hands down, one of the best meals I've had in the last five years. The Stag Salad was outstanding--beautiful greens, plenty of bacon and goat cheese, and the most delicious (clearly homemade) buttermilk ranch dressing. I don't usually get excited about salad, but don't sleep on this one. I ordered the seared sea bass, and wow--seared to absolute perfection. The crunch on the outside, moist and succulent on the inside... the best sea bass I've ever had. Chef's kiss. My friends ordered the salmon and the roasted chicken, and everyone was thrilled with their meals. None of us even ordered steaks--despite that being what they're known for--but the ones we saw looked flawless. The upstairs décor is beautiful, and last but definitely not least--ask for Mave. Warm, friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful in steering you toward the right choices. We'll be back soon--and often.

Arrived on time and seated promptly. Wait staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Appetizers: calamari were fried to perfection with a delicious sauce, sliders with pimento cheese, amazing and crab dip is a must have. Cannot say enough good things about the sea bass with risotto. Truly one of the best dishes I have ever had. Choose the sea bass over the salmon. NY strip was very tender and juicy. Lobster Mac and Cheese is also a must have. Filet was not as good as I have had before. Not the best cut of meat. Nice dessert menu with seasonal options. Key lime pie was very traditional, tart and sweet with real whipped cream and perfect crust. All in all, terrific.

This is a review for the Easter brunch only…read more I'm sure my grandparents would've loved this place if they were still around. You got your white tablecloths, rooms full of retirees, and a vibe that hasn't changed much since the Reagan administration. Unfortunately, there was none of that live music that this place is known for. My family and I came for the Easter brunch buffet @ $55/person. The menu looked great: herb crusted prime rib at the carving station, shrimp and grits, Belgian waffles, deviled eggs, bourbon glazed carrots, cheesecake dessert squares. But the reality was that it's more like an upscale hotel breakfast. Safe, mostly bland, and probably exactly what the "usual" crowd there was looking for. The bacon was overcooked and shriveled. The deviled eggs didn't even have any paprika. And who puts a giant vat of syrup BEFORE the waffles? And their signature strawberry punch would've tasted way better chilled or iced instead of being kept at room temperature. The prime rib was what made it all worth it. It was tender, juicy, cooked just right, and the horseradish took care of their seasoning problem. That carving station is what saves the day along with the fantastic staff. Even the manager was great to talk to. I just wish the rest of the food was better than "meh." A couple of tips: call for reservations, there's no online booking. Parking is annoying because of the app. If you don't have a walker, just use the giant free public lot one block over on Main Street. Also, the "Order" button on their website goes nowhere. Maybe just replace it with "Menu," Luna. Looks like Mother's Day is getting the breakfast buffet brunch encore, so if you want to experience what I did, go for it. I probably won't be back even though the regular menu looks interesting.

Ordered a French onion soup and was very good! Daughter and I had steak which was cooked good but underside of steak was missing some grill marks. Atmosphere was fine per the usual, and all of our food came out timely. Here's where the trouble began. After ordering a 16 ounce sirloin MEDIUM temp it came out raw with unrendered fat lines and solid pink meat. My server promptly took the steak back and had it re-fired. After receiving my steak for the second time it came out a proper medium. But it also came out dry as could be and tasteless, only being able to taste the grill char. The manager took my steak off of my family's bill which I was thankful for. By this time of dinner my entire family had already finished their meals but the manager insisted she fire another steak quickly and give it to me togo. I agreed and was thankful for the opportunity to finally get my meal. Once my steak finally came out in its togo container I cut into it to check its temp and this was even more rare then the first go around. Completely raw in the center and a hell of a long way from MEDIUM. This isn't a thick cut steak, just large in proportion. I and my family left the restaurant, my family full and happy with their meals. I left hungry and have only had a piece of bread and side salad. The cooks need more practice cooking steaks. I'm not sure how you mess up TWO orders of the same steak, worse the second time than the first. Dinner rush must have gotten the best of them tonight.

Fried pickles that were perfectly seasoned, pimento cheese Rangoon that had a very unique flavor and delicious dipping sauce, our friends enjoyed bacon wrapped dates. We also tried the duck confit chorizo egg rolls. I didn't taste the chorizo, but the egg rolls had a fantastic flavor. I had hush puppy coated fried red fish over smoked Gouda grits. It was so good. My wife and one of our friends had the chicken special. So many flavors. The final dish at the table was the short ribs that were, again, seasoned perfectly. The only challenge was how loud it was in the restaurant. When we arrived, there weren't many people in the restaurant but, as the place filled up, it became impossible to carry on a conversation. However, the service was great and the food was interesting and flavorful. Definitely recommend!

The inside has a very cool old school building feel while being trendy at the same time. It's quite a large place with two sides and outdoor seating plus restrooms on each side. The appetizers and main dishes that we have had so far are all fantastic. The fish and chips are some of the best I've had. The fish isn't overly breaded and greasy like some other places. Our son loves the fried green bean appetizer but eats most of it himself so we hardly ever get to enjoy it. Once again the breading is light resembling a panko type crust so you aren't just eating deep fried objects. We've tried numerous other appetizers and so far nothing has been a let down. If you're looking for a good menu with quality food and drink options (they have a full bar) then this is it. Cool setting. Easy to get to. Great food. Friendly staff.

It's by far the best! The two owners, Nick and Alison, are the reason for this. They have incredibly high standards and that's reflected in every dish - from the ingredients to the presentation. Every time, we get appetizers, entrees, and dessert (because it's all so delicious), and their cocktail menu just keeps getting better and better. It's been solid since our first visit, but over the past year they tripled the size and elevated the menu so much we think Antebellum now rivals the best cocktail spots in Atlanta! If you live in the area and haven't yet been, or if you're visiting, make a reservation - and be sure to order appetizers, mains, and dessert (and of course cocktails). There's no need to overthink what you order. Every dish and cocktail they serve is exceptional.
