Big red barn'ish

A great selection of pet supplies with a hometown feel! At Scotts Valley Feed you get great service and reasonable prices to feed just about anything from an aardvark to a rhinoceros, well maybe not either of those but just about any domesticated animal you might have. It's an old barn looking building right on Scotts Valley Drive and it's packed to the walls inside and out. If you need help with heavy items they always have staff on hand to do the lifting. We got a bail of hay the other day and they laid cardboard down in the back of my car and loaded it up to keep the mess down! We have 3 dogs and they are on a grain free diet. They have Taste of the Wild dog food which is high quality, grain free, and the dogs love it. They also have a lot of choices for grain free treats... Pro pet tip: the pine pellets horse bedding makes an awesome and inexpensive substitute for pet litter. We use it for our dogs and pigs litter box. It also helps to keep mud down in your yard so put it places where your beasts would normally track mud into the house and your good to go! This is the spot to go for pet feed in our small town, check 'em out!

This place has EVERYTHING. There is so much stuff in there you have to make 2-3 passes, turn around and go the other way. Dog stuff, cat stuff, hamsters - they have have chickens. What we wanted (bordetella vaccine for kennel cough prevention) they did not have -- but I do not think anyone has it in California, or at least none of the 2-3 places we went (other feed stores) had it. Will definitely be back.

I have silkie chickens and in the area I live there aren't many options for chicken feed.

We had to give it a shot since it was so promising and I was glad to support them. On the other hand, the cpd that we got from this store are the most vibrant in my tank. They have distinct dots and stripes beyond just the male and female differences. I'd say that the fish here are high quality :)

The staff used to be the coolest, most upstanding people I've ever met. Unfortunately there has been a MAJOR decline in the health and wellbeing of the fish. Thanks are dirty and overtaken by algae. All the fish I've purchased recently have died, and their prices have increased significantly. While I can get past those issues with most businesses, and will still find myself purchasing the necessities, I will NEVER return to this establishment. The new owner "Wade" is a pervert. I've seen him sexually harass his staff, and CUSTOMERS. He's an atrocious human being, and I hope he loses his business with haste. Refrain from enabling this man's behavior, and shop literally anywhere else. I discourage PetSmart, and would highly recommend shopping with small local businesses if possible, but I'd pick PetSmart over this place any day of the year.

The Rabbit Haven - Rabbit Haven Bunny Hop

The Rabbit Haven

TRH recently brought back the Rabbit Haven Bunny Hop, which I attended at Pet Food Express in…read moreCampbell this past weekend, and I am ecstatic. How could I not love sitting in a spacious enclosure surrounded by adorable bunnies during this bunny play day event! Breeds of all kinds (holland lops, netherland dwarfs, lionheads, rex rabbits, and a variety of mixes) running around, exploring tunnels, and climbing cardboard castles, having a magic garden party with a feast of cilantro, parsley, willow, banana slices, and more at cafe bunz (on one side of the play area), munching on hay, making friends with other bunnies, and just having the time of their lives. The space for bunnies and their owners was much larger and the event seemingly more organized than the last time I attended (pre-covid). The volunteers definitely had a system going on. But the health check and check-in process caused some delays in getting the bunnies in, and there was also a line for the nail trims they were doing on this day. But once my bunnies got settled in, they joined the other furry cuties on the floor, getting spoiled with treats, and pets and attention from the humans on site. There was also charming bunny themed merchandise for sale. For bunnies, bunny owners, and bunny lovers, this is a dream! The Rabbit Haven is already great in the services they provide (mainly in the south bay), rescuing injured and abandoned rabbits, offering monthly bunny nail trims, pet store discounts on oxbow products, pet adoptions and fostering, bunny bonding assistance, and plenty of resources on their website for good bunny doctors in the bay area, as well as news and information regarding bunny vaccinations, best practices, and more. They've been taking care of my bunnies (current and past) for at least the last decade. Services usually take place at pet stores in the south bay. And the volunteers are knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. I appreciate the Rabbit Haven for all that they do. You'll see me and my fur babies at the Bunny Hop regularly. Now, if only they could bring back SJ's Bunny Fest (please!?!).
