Took our dog to Earthwise 4 times, and have had a bad experience about half the time. For the first appointment I provided a hard copy photo and text picture of how short I wanted our dog to be groomed. Nothing special, just a basic grooming. 2 out of 4 times, instructions were not followed - could hardly tell if his coat had been cut. Have never been able to get the same groomer twice, despite asking for consistency. One groomer called to change his appointment day - when I got there the store was closed and I was told the person who called me no longer worked there. Most recently, took our dog in for his usual grooming, only to be told by a very young staff member he wasn't trained to do a full groom (no other staff in store). Appointment cancelled. Called owner Brett to express my dissatisfaction - told us several groomers have had "mental breakdowns" (Huh?!) and turnover was high. Said he would have the most experienced groomer (only works 3 days per week) call me the following day to set up a new appointment. No call received. I don't recommend this business. read more

We have an... eccentric... labradoodle (which is a generous way of saying "objectively crazy"). Finding a groomer was incredibly difficult. Either the groomer was too far away from home to be practical or the poor pup would be scared. That is, until we found Earthwise pet in Scotts valley. The staff are incredibly nice and the groomer (Maddie) is a delight. Our dog always comes home from the shop looking/feeling great. Definitely check it out if you're looking for a reasonable groomer. Oh yeah, and pro tip: book your appointment with Maddie in advance. Her schedule fills up quickly. read more

We are so happy with our puppy's grooming experience here with Maddie. Maddie was recommended by a co worker to groom our Aussie. Maddie herself has Australian shepherds and knows the proper way to groom them! She was very friendly and I really enjoyed talking to her. I called and made an appointment. We brought Lola in at 8am Saturday morning and she was done by 11. Lola was happy and looked great. I am very pleased with Maddie's work. The price is very reasonable and fair. Teresa is amazing! I am so very happy and thankful to have found such a wonderful, caring groomer. It was our first time in and my dog, Moxie, was very nervous about being left with a stranger. Teresa got right down on the floor with her when we arrived and got aquatinted for a few minuets before I left, which I though was so cool of her. Moxie can be a bit of a handful, and Teresa seemed to have handled her perfectly. She has never looked more fabulous and I know she feels so much better. The staff was very apologetic and even consulted with the Vet next door. He was fine, just a little cut which I kept an eye on. As for tipping, you should ALWAYS tip your groomer!! I don't understand why someone would get upset when asked if they want to add a tip when they pay..... Perhaps you're paying with a credit card and don't have any cash for a tip. Sheesh!!! This is specifically a review for the grooming department. We have a little 40lb "Wild Love Dog" aka mutt who sheds more barbed-wire-like-hair than any other dog I know. So grooming her is a chore. We came here once last June and again yesterday to have her bathed, dried, desheded, and nails dremeled. We only come 1-2 times/year because we live in Seattle and are only in Ben Lomond during June. But we are used to over-priced bills for not the best groom job. The groomers at Earthwise Pet are not only super kind and friendly, but do an awesome job! And then to top it all off, it's only $35 before tip! We've already signed our pup up for another bath right before we leave because we know she will come out with no click-clacking nails, hair deshedded, and smelling so yummy! read more

My pitbull Nutella hates people touching her paws. At home I'm pretty sure I just traumatize her when I cut her nails. Earth wise, has amazing groomers who clipped her quickly, and left my dog with a wagging tail. I seriously came straight home to write this review I am so impressed with these guys! This is mainly about their grooming dept but the whole staff have been so great it's really for everyone. My little guy has recently become a pain to groom. Our last attempt at a groom at another groomer was actually unsuccessful due to his wriggling and anxiety around being groomed. When I came in to make the appt I explained this and his behavior around grooming, which they said they could work with. I was naturally a little hesitant because of the last experience but went ahead to try. When I came in today to bring him in, the team was there looking so happy and ready to go. I explained everything about my little guy to Haley (sp?) and she took lots more time than required to explain her process when working with anxious doggos like my guy. I could tell immediately she had tons of experience and really genuinely cared about all the animals that came in to get groomed. She was so kind, really went into detail with me then I left him in her capable hands. When I came back a little while later, he looked great. More than great, he seriously looked like years had been shaved off of him, and his beautiful long fluffy tail was still there!! She said he had done really well, was anxious around one part of the process but Haley explained to me why she thought that was. She also gave me a home remedy for a little nuisance we had dealt with at home, which was such a blessing. He wasn't anxious at all to leave them either, which speaks such volumes. I'm so incredibly happy and I believe my little guy is too with all that extra hair off him. So thank you so much Haley and to the rest of the team, I will be so happy to keep bringing my guy back here to you guys forever! read more

For a variety of reasons our sweet samoyed developed a good deal of matted sections, we had been working on them but it was no small feat. I explained our situation and set an appointment. Every engagement was kind and encouraging they wanted to help and didn't hold judgment. I picked lil Yuki up after an intense grooming and could not have been more relieved and grateful. He is soft, fluffy and walked away not scared to come back. If it wasn't for covid I would have squeezed them. These wonderful women are so delightful and great at what they do. The dog wash is awesome! The price is SO reasonable and if you happen to also need a nail trim, you get a few dollars off the trim when you use the wash. When I was asking him what wet food was best he gave me a sample to take home and try out with my cat, and she LOVED it! The staff constantly goes about helping customers with enthusiasm and a sense of purpose. Of particular interest to me is their grooming staff. All three women do outstanding work. I can't choose one over the other. I've never been unhappy with their work on my three poodles. When they're done with the dogs, it's velveteen poodle time. There are other groomers around. Friends have give us half off first time coupons which we felt pressured to use. But the work was often subpar. Once, one of the groomers complained about my dogs demeaner to explain why the trim was lopsided. A 13 year old therapy poodle? We meet a really nice gentleman at the Scott's Valley wine festival and he had so much information about grooming and we decided to check out the place. We went to the store and as I walked in the cashier was not friendly at all! Kinda rude! When I asked if they more than one dog broth he said no... she was no help at all. I came into this store in the summer, just because I was next door getting my nails done. The owner of the store is incredibly nice and super knowledgeable. He showed me the self wash dog station and offered advice on kinds of brushes that would work for my dogs coat. Last week before thanksgiving I actually brought my dog in for his quarterly bath. He was blowing his coat so I didn't want the fur flying in my house. Self wash is in an enclosure room with one wash basin. The water and soap come out of a hose combined and at the perfect temperature. You then switch to water for rinsing. There are ample towels and brushes to be used as well as a high powered blow dryer thing. We made a mess of the place but for $12, it was well worth it. The owner even came in and showed me how to use a certain brush and gave advice. Cool place. I will be back next time the furry kid needs a bath! read more
