Did a blow by test and recommended a new engine. Took my car to a shop that has worked on my Subaru before and they fixed my oil leak and had some brake problems fixed. Hardly ever get back to you with a quote and I had them do my pinion seal which you have to take out the pinion well a year later my pinion came loose and destroyed my rear end. Now I am at a different shop getting a full rebuild that's costing me $3000 when they did a $200 job wrong... they didn't notate any issues with the rear end when they went in their so. So apparently it was good then. read more

My wife was in route to Spokane when she heard a noise from under her vehicle. She was 16 miles west of Moses Lake, so I logged into Yelp and looked for an auto mechanic with a good customer feedback record. I found Scotty's Auto Repair as the highest rated in Moses Lake with the most customer feedback and sent my wife their address. When she arrived, she spoke to Don who offered to look at the problem, which turned out to be a missing plastic screw on the skid plate causing the skid plate to flap against the bottom of the vehicle. Don told my wife he would be right back, and when he returned, he crawled under the vehicle and fixed the issue and sent my wife on her way to Spokane. Brought my Lincoln Town Car in for the 20$ Groupon oil change and inspection. Getting a regular Car inspection can finds issues before they become bigger problems. Scotty's emailed me pictures where they discovered a ball-joint concern. The staff is friendly, and there is a nice clean waiting room. They changed me $6400 To replace a Head Gasket and new heads. Not even a week later, I took my car back because it was Leaking antifreeze and still overheating And the mechanic told me it was my radiator and it was gonna be an extra $1400. After I told him I've already replaced that radiator not even a year ago, he started changing the story And then it was the Thermostat All of a sudden. Took it back for the third time, and he tried telling me that it was my Upper radiator hose and that the hose would be free. But he was gonna charge me $95 for labor. So I took it to perfection tires. And they looked over my car and told me. There was no leaks, and that my hose was just fine. So I would not recommend anybody going to Scotty's auto-repair. Because they lie through their teeth just to get more money out of you. read more

Car had transmission issues heading to Seattle. They took a look without an appointment and found the issue (gasket broke leaking transmission fluid). While they couldn't do the work because it was very difficult and they were booked a ways out they helped call to different auto part stores to find the exact type of transmission fluid so I could buy a case to get home and showed me how to check the fluid level and what to do. Extremely impressed and very thankful. read more

BEWARE!!! I don't understand how this place has almost five stars! I went in for an oil leak. Husband did all the research and leak was coming from the oil cooler. Company did their inspection report and said otherwise. They assured it was coming from the oil pan which would be close to 1k mind you the oil cooler was 530. They are the "experts" right? so we said ok (technician R.R.). After three weeks mind you again, paid the deposit then receptionist said it will be done in three weeks! Ok fine but why couldn't she tell me that before paying the deposit? Went for pick up three weeks later, received a stupid flower for spending almost 2400 (lol) I also got my brakes changed (1,400). Truck was still leaking, noticed it two days later. Called back angry bc they reassured me it was that! We'll it ends up being the oil cooler (husband was right to start with)! They changed something that was not broken (oil pan). They said it was leaking as well but there wrong since the start my husband told them it's the oil cooler and they said no it's not (EXPERTS) They quoted me and supposedly gave me a stupid discount which to me it should of been free! Paid an extra $325, picked up truck and now the engine light is on (lol) these places man always looking to rip people off. My husband looked up the code mind you my truck has never had an engine light issue pop up! I know they messed with it so I can take it back! It's a couple of O2 sensors under the truck that will need to be replaced Technician R.R.! NEVER AGAIN! If you want to give away your money go ahead and book with this unprofessional company! As a customer I paid my dos's and as a company they ripped me off!!!! read more

I don't care how long I have to wait for an appointment I'm definitely going to Affordable Auto repair at 2836 Driggs Dr, Moses Lake, WA 98837 for now on where I normally but they are so backup so yeah bad choice for me to go here. I don't like how they don't like to communicate so no I would not recommend but if you have had a good experience that's great but the two times I have gone it wasn't good for me they did fix the problem so to each their own. read more

Want to say Scotty Automotive was very nice and prompt in their service. I called at 8:00 am to have a fuel filter change I was going to do it myself but I had trouble with getting the top off. They said come right down and they got it done right away. Unfortunately I got some bad gas somewhere and better safe then sorry. I'm from California traveling to Yellowstone. Don't need any worries. Great service! Our rv broke down just outside of Moses lake and we were towed to Scottys auto! They did a test when we got there and said the fuel pump went out. One of the employees took my daughter and son in law to rent a car and hubby and I waited in the rv for our ride to get there. They were helpful and accommodating even tho we got there right around closing. The rv was fixed before they said it would be and it was under the quoted price. Since we lived 2.5 hours away, they worked with me and met me at 8:15 on a Friday night! After everything was settled up she gave me a carnation! Made my night! Thank you for everything! Went to Scottys for an oil change and alignment. My tires were on their last legs and I got a good deal on some new tires so I bought them. Rear brakes needed replaced so I said go ahead and do them. Battery terminals needed cleaned as well. I gave my ok. Dropped off my car at 8:00 am. At 4:50pm I called, it was ready. That was a long time to do what I wanted done. Next day I took my car on the highway. Shook something terrible! Brought it back to Scottys. Service manager took it for a drive. Yep, tires out of balance. Waited for 3 hrs while they balanced my tires. Problem solved. So a total of 9 hrs for them to put new tires on, balance (second try), simple rear brake job and oil change. Hummm? Took my car home and checked to be sure oil was ok. Noticed my battery terminals weren't cleaned. I was going to bring it back again, but said screw it. It might take another 3 hrs to do it. I had great service with Scottys in the past, this time it was terrible. I will never go back. I talked to the manager and she said if I have any other problems bring it back. Nice to say, but let's do it right the first time!! read more

My car broke down near Moses Lake. I called around and got a referral to Scotty's. They kept the shop open past closing on a Saturday afternoon and waited for my car to be towed to their shop. They special ordered parts for my car, and I was able to pick it up the following weekend. They did great work! The bill was fair and the service was professional and courteous. read more

In my experience, this business has been backhanded and false. Took my car in because it was leaking dark oil. Came away being told that it was going to die anytime in the next couple weeks or months. It shouldn't be driven out of town. The report came back with a blowby and several other issues. Since then it's gone to Spokane, Wenatchee, and all over town just fine. The motor sounds good. After being told that it would die anytime, it did die soon after (couple days). But low and behold, checking the battery, my Les Schwab 5 year had been switched out for a dealer one that was in horrible condition and was guaranteed to leave me stranded. The only place my battery could have been switched out is while it was in this shop because I'd popped the hood directly prior to taking it there and the battery was mine, no corrosion, and functioning fine. It had other problems that they hadn't checked out. Battery that had been switched out had no water. Thermostat was gone so the heat gauge shot up. After taking my car to a great local place near Grocery Outlet (owned by two Mexicano bros), it was raised and the back axle crumbled off. They did so much work to my car and charged an extremely reasonable price. It's hard to know what all actually happened, but to be safe, I'd look for another shop. read more

I can't say enough about the professionalism, the respect, the honesty and the amazing team that works here. I was supposed to leave for Seattle right after work to be with my wife and daughter who was spending time at Children's hospital. Unfortunately my truck decided to die on me. It was 3 in the afternoon and I swung in with the hopes that it was an easy fix and I could "chance" it to Seattle until Monday. Wishful thinking. The guys knew right away what was wrong. I left there feeling defeated and thought it would be a few days before I could make the trip over the mountains and started making other plans to borrow a car. A couple hours later I got a call saying my truck was fixed. They even sent someone to pick me up so I could be on my way. These guys spent hours after they closed to makes sure I was taken care of. They understood my dilemma and worked fast and without error to help me get on the road to be with my family. I have never had an auto repair place go out of their way to make the customer happy. Most seem to go out of their way to stick it to the customer. This most definitely is not one of those places. I will always recommend Scottys. read more

Last December my car broke down just past Vantage on my way from Auburn to Spokane at 9pm on a Friday. Scottys was the only place I could find open on Saturday. I was towed there and got a hotel room. When they opened up on Saturday they got my car in first thing. One thing after another was wrong with the car but they spent 11 hours including keeping the entire team two hours past closing to get me fixed and on the road. I cannot thank them enough and would recommend them to anyone. read more

Sisters car wasn't working, she paid to tow it to Scotty's hoping to have found a place that could help and do the right things. They charged my sister to diagnose her car, charged her to correct the problem by replacing spark plugs. Then convinced her to also pay for an oil change, wiper blades, radiator flush, brake pad replacement and to swap out the radiator reserve tank for $1000. Had to order brake pads and reserve tank. She returned it after having paid for all this then was told just a couple hours. However they managed to break the top connections on the radiator and called to try and get $500 more from her. She had driven it in the week between appointments over 300 miles. She couldn't afford to fix the damage they did (blamed it on the age of the part) so instead charged her at a discount to tow it back to the house and did say "Sorry about that." Over $1000 dollars later, we may have found another stereotypical auto shop that screws up and or screws over folks when they think they can get away with it. Maybe they was no purposeful damage done but when you push an owner into doing repairs and don't step up and take responsibility for your mistakes... Scotty's should be ashamed. All I know is my sister has a broken car that she can't even drive to a lot to sell. $1000 would been a decent down payment, to bad sis can't even do that now. read more

These guys are awesome. We live out of town but needed to get a car fixed up in Moses Lake. We ended up having it towed to Scotty's and they were great about everything. They communicated with us every step of the way and waited for us to approve charges. In addition, they went over and beyond by storing our car for a few weeks, free of charge. We weren't able to get through the pass due to weather conditions. I would highly recommend taking your car to Scotty's! read more
