I live in a neighboring state and 10 days ago my friend surprised me with a two hour drive to buy her favorite pie from Scotty's Country Kitchen! At Scotty's Pie stand, located at their orchard, I purchased 6 crumble pies; four apple and two peach blueberry, brownies, chocolate chip cookies, Irish soda and zucchini pineapple bread. In 9 days, over breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacking in between 6 3/4 of 7 pies, brownies, chocolate chip cookies, one of each zucchini and pineapple bread disappeared one bite at a time. The last 1/4 slice of the crumble will be my dessert tonight! The Best part of the day was meeting the Amazing husband (Scotty) and wife (Laura) duo who gifted my friend and I (the second best part of the trip) the 7th pie a FREE strawberry rhubarb crumble! Each of Scotty's Country Kitchen pies are guaranteed 2 pounds. All 7 of the pies weighed over 3 lbs with one weighing 3.8 lbs! Every one of the 3+ lbs pies were overflowing with fruits from their orchard and all topped off with the perfect balance of sugar, butter, and spices to creat the most delicious crumble that melts in the mouth! When I'm eating any of the goodies from Scotty's Country Kitchen I don't feel guilty because I know the ingredients are direct from natural and of the highest quality. I can eat one third of my favorite apple crumble for dessert and still have my blood sugar below one hundred the next morning. I attribute this to their philosophy "Use fresh, homegrown ingredients...make all our baked goods from scratch in small, handmade batches." I bought a half of a cherry crumble top pie at the Beacon Farmer's market. Though it was a crumble type pie it had a regular crust on the bottom and around the sides. The crust around the edge was like cement, hard as a rock, and the cherries and filling had little if any flavor. But the crust was just awful. It all went into the trash. And since I was stupid enough to not ask the price that was $15 into the trash. Overpriced *and* bad. read more

My daughter picked up a raspberry apple pie. It was a small pie for $20 which I thought was a little too much. The apple part of the pie was delicious, but the raspberry we didn't care for. Don't know if I would buy again. read more

Ordered some pies recently from a school fundraiser. We had a pumpkin (pictured) and a pecan pie. The pecan pie had a GENEROUS PORTION of whole pecans. I was impressed with that for $20. Upon closer look, it just looked like a pie shell of pecans, no filling. When we sliced into it we realized there was no gooey filling. Mind you, I've never had their pies before so I don't know if that's their style. But when we took the slice out, the pecans just fell and didn't stick together. There was VERY LITTLE filling. Disappointing. The pumpkin pie tasted great, but the pie itself didn't look great. The filling had pulled away from the crust, like it was dried out. read more

To the man that left the bitter, hangry, fury filled review about his heartache & disappointment regarding the sugar free pie he ordered: I'd LOVE to leave a review on HIS independent bakery business if he every tried to make a sugar free pie. Or anything, for that matter. I live in New York City, next to the most refined bakeries in the world - and admittedly I am spoiled with foodie options daily that would melt your face off. I happened to be in Warwick today and we were about to make the drive back home when we stopped by the farmers market looking for a few yummies to take on the drive with us. We stumbled upon Scotty's country kitchen and found our kryptonite - oatmeal raisin cookies. We now have to drive straight to a hospital, because how can we drive back to manhattan with MELTED FACES?! These cookies are SO AMAZING that our faces MELTED OFF!! There is NOTHING that can beat the good old fashioned country baking, delicate spices and rich buttery goodness of a real cookie. And this, THIS cookie, is the cookie you dream of. I went to their website to write them a thank you for putting the time and effort into such a delicious business, but it is down for construction. So I checked Yelp, only to find some country dingleberry had left this independent business a one star review because his life was ruined by a sugar free pie that didn't meet his gold star baking standards. Well sorry to ruin his dreams yet again by leaving this review, but this place is the absolute best. And you know what? I'm gonna buy a sugar free pie next time I'm around, because god bless them for trying, and I'll bet it's amazing. And half the calories! So, yes please! I love the gluten free pumpkin chocolate chip cookies :,) Oh man.... I've been a huge fan of Scotty's Country Kitchen since before going gluten free and after! It's hard to find gf baked goods with a non-gritty texture. I can confidently say they make incredible baked goods and I'm so glad they are in my area!! read more

Wish i could leave a zero. Bought a sugar free apple pie and while i don't expect it to be as good as a regular apple pie this was beyond horrible. Dry apples and crust! no flavor. The crust was like cardboard. I don't think there was any sweetener like splenda. Also we purchased scones. They tasted like flavorless biscuits. Please don't buy their stuff. I know they're related to the owners of Soons Orchard but shame on them for selling these well below par pies. read more
