The food quality has dropped significantly over time -- what used to be a go-to spot just doesn't deliver the same experience it once did. Dishes that were once highlights now feel like a shadow of their former selves. What really sealed it for me, though, was the owner's attitude. On multiple occasions, I found her to be dismissive and condescending toward customers -- not the kind of hospitality that keeps loyal patrons coming back. I truly hope things turn around here, because this place has potential. I went here with my bf he has been telling me how delicious the pies are, and man oh man let me tell you. I got the salted caramel chocolate pie and we got the pulled pork pie. Absolutely to DIE FOR! To those complaining about the price of supporting local small businesses shame on them! I honestly don't mind the price as long as the quality meets the expectation of the price which it does! I've heard nothing but rave reviews about this bakery and while it's a drive from Middletown, being we had a special occasion, I needed perfection. I called last Tuesday to order a bourbon pecan pie for my son- in- law's birthday. It's one of his favorites. The person I spoke to took my order and was very polite and friendly. Friday at noon my pie was ready and it looked delicious!! Actually, everything there looked beyond amazing ! Needless to say everyone absolutely raved about the pie!! People who live in NYC were so impressed, they said it was worth the drive from Queens... Thank you so much for making a special occasion even better. My parents bought an "Easter Pie" (eggs, ham, salami, prosciutto...) for $70! First, I cannot believe they did this, no pie should ever be this price- and second, it was terrible. You could barely taste anything over the amount of salt used. The crust was pretty good, but not enough to save it. I would not buy this or ever recommend it to anyone. At these prices I also wont be giving anything else a chance there and risk a similar experience. These pies should be $15 max...but even if it was I wouldn't buy this one again. read more

We have been stopping in for several years now. Shannon never ceases to amaze us. Her desserts are consistently great. Her soups and main dishes are wonderful also. She delivers great customer care and has a great sense of humor. We typically stop in with 8-10 people and she serves us efficiently and interacts in a positive manner with this crazy group of people. You can have coffee and there or take it home. I was there yesterday. I thought it was expensive and commented same, received reply, 'What? Do you have a problem with the prices?' I also shared my exhusband was a retired chef but didn't go to to the culinary institute. Her reply was, 'I worked my ass off to go there.' Same with the Shepherds Pie. I've had better and made better. It was like a watered-down beef stew with a little bit of mashed potatoes under the crust. Came here looking for in season fruit pies and ended up with frozen fruit filling and awful crust. Bought a peach pie and blueberry crumb. Peach pie was obviously frozen fruit, not fresh. It was awful tasting. Blueberry was gelatinous and soggy, the crumb was chewy and couldn't be eaten. When I went back to ask about the misrepresentation of "fresh fruit pies" the owner told me "Fresh as in I make them myself, not that the fruit is fresh. Very clear the owner has a very bad drinking problem... been this way since years ago last time I went. Back then she burned the entire thing she was so drunk on pickup I smelled it on her breath and I didn't even complain just never went back bc you MUST know you have a problem ??? Maybe she just drank too much and it was noticeable... but no she just needs help cause apparently not... 5 years later, today, new location, Called in a pot pie and soup .... We were asked hot or cold and when we said hot she said it would be 35 minutes to heat it up. We arrived.... She was busy with customers barely able to serve them she was so intoxicated and seemingly stumbling over herself and her words Told her we were picking up an order. She gave an attitude seemingly like "can't you see I'm busy" even though we waited the 35 minutes she told us to for pickup we continued to be forced to Wait a half hour for her to barely complete the customers order offering anything she can completely ignoring us... then I noticed other customers also waiting for her to be able to serve them!! Finally after anothrr 35 minutes (going on 1 hour 15 mins now) of waiting I mentioned the order bc she just stared at the wall blankly instead of helping us.... and it was like she was on another planet.... wasn't even facing us she was facing the opposite direction but still talking to us ? Super odd.. and to make it worse She had no idea... knew we called somehow but then went to fridge to get cold soup? I felt it cold said that she mentioned to wait 40 minute for her to heat it up bc it was for our dinner.... She said no you said cold.... Couldn't imagine why she told us to wait 35 minutes if we had said cold.... She knew we asked for it hot.. and forgot. then when i found out it wasn't even ready at all i said I needed to see if we could even wait another 40 minutes... because we were starving . I told her forget it and we left and went to noble pies ordered and they told us wait 35 minutes to heat it... when we arrived to noble pies the girl up front was COMPLETELY SOBER AND ON POINT our pie was finished before the 35 minute mark specially wrapped into portions and it was incredible.. ORDER WAS MADE AND PERFECT IN less than 35 minutes . After saying forget it Shannon then drunk called us back after claiming she didn't know what the order was she found our number still... called twice. Just forget it. Just get help at this point bc you're losing your business and it's visible. in the past it seemed like Shannon must have "forgotten" about stuff in the oven bc it was always horrifically dry... I can see why. How could you think it's ok to be intoxicated and running a business ? Just as you'd FIRE a drunk worker who can't perform you should fire yourself. It was already very raunchy to think off when I was told She was a drunk who slept with my friends husband KNOWING HE WAS MARRIED... but when you meet her in person you can tell she's just that kind of person. She mentioned to the people in front of us "your first time here ?" They said yes... "she said oh great remember I'm crazy!" And all I could think of is no.... All they will remember is to never go back bc it will take 35 minutes to be served a simple bakery item bc the owner is barely able to move without falling over inebriated and slurring. It was so bad and I was so hungry at that point I wanted to cry knowing we'd have to go elsewhere and wait again bc not eating on time upsets my medical issues. And KNOWING SHE LIKELY DROVE HERSELF HOME DRUNK LIKE THAT!? It's a huge problem if youre destroying your own business but it's DISGUSTING if you'd risk the lives of others driving on the road when you're completely unable to even run a cash register let alone a dangerous vehicle. We should have called the police to wait for her knowing she was closing in only a half hour and had no chance of sobering up... our order is one thing. But I PRAY you didn't drive home like that with the same audacity! read more

Best Pies in the country right here in our backyard! We decided to drive up to North Jersey and walk the Stairway to Heaven trail, and post walk felt the hankering for some coffee and a treat. What we didn't realize was, the actual Stairway to Heaven is actually in every scrumptious morsel of every pie we ordered. Wowza!!!! Hands down best Cherry Pie period. Went in to complete a simple DoorDash delivery - no big deal right? Boy was I wrong... On arrival I noticed the owner, Shannon, was chatting up a friend. Upon seeing my DoorDash bag, Shannon instructed me to contact the delivery customer and negotiate a substitution for an out-of-stock pie. Despite it being outside the purview of a dasher, I obliged and contacted the customer - first by calling, and then by text - to no avail. I even put the phone on speaker and offered for Shannon to leave the customer a message, which she declined. We waited for a bit, but the customer never responded. After a few minutes, I informed Sharron that if she cannot fulfill part of the order she can simply refund that single item and mark it as out-of-stock for future orders through the app on her tablet. Alternatively, she could contact DoorDash directly and have them work on a solution. Sharron refused to do either, stating that it's not her responsibility to manage stock on the DoorDash application (it is...) and that I was being unreasonable in my request to complete the delivery for the items on hand. According to Sharron, I, as a Dasher, lacked the experience to know what it's like to run a business of my own, and if I wanted to get on with my deliveries I would keep attempting to negotiate a substitution on her behalf. As a seasoned entrepreneur (I only started moonlighting as a Dasher to qualify for the COVID-19 vaccine as an essential worker) having started multiple successful businesses, I was flabbergasted that any business owner would treat / talk down to a delivery driver from a 3rd party logistics company in the way Shannon so comfortably did. I made Shannon aware of this fact, which set off a series of events I had not anticipated when accepting the $6.50 delivery opportunity. Shannon decided to take her frustration from the day (life?) out on me in that very moment, and started a series of insults and demeaning comments I care not to repeat. When I informed Shannon that I would no longer assist with her order, she told her friend that as a "lowly dasher my sole interest was in getting to my next delivery", and I would quickly capitulate and "do the right thing by completing the substitution negotiation" on her behalf. She also told me that I must be "new" to Dashing as this is "standard practice" and she does it often. Putting two and two together, I realized that Shannon must frequently exploit the fiscal position / time-constraints of 3rd party delivery drivers to complete tasks they are not remunerated / compensated for, for her own benefit. I contacted DoorDash support both during and after this encounter, confirming that it is the responsibility of the store to manage stock and customer communications regarding substitutions. read more

I stopped in to get a mini pecan pie and a Mac and cheese pie! I was greeted by a friendly woman behind the register and the wonderful aromas of this beautiful store. I warmed both of my pies in the oven at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes and it was delicious. The crust was flaky and the filling was more than enough. Purchased two scones, mini apple rose, peach and berry pies. Everything had very little taste. The scone was gummy and the pies were disappointing. Maybe they should add more sugar and spices and a hint of salt to bring out the flavors of the fruit. Very over priced for the quality. We will not return. read more

September 2021, Warwick, NY location. This place is charming inside with some seating. But, in my opinion it is mostly a stop in and pick up place. You cannot step inside here without buying something to eat. Their menu is also laid out nicely with a few selections in each section, plus the prices are fair and worth every penny. We met the Chef Shannon who lovely and very personable. We ordered a small Shepherd's Pie, and a Apple Turnover to eat inside - OMG they were both delicious. The Shepherd's Pie had plenty of meat, peas, and was topped with mashed potato underneath a layer of crust. The Apple Turnover was light and airy with plenty of apples inside - Delicious. My other friend ordered the Corn Chowder Soup that she said was delicious. We also left there with some desserts for later on at home. Overpriced for processed food - some things "may" be fresh but most are throw together processed. How else could one woman crank out this much product? Has smoker outside, not sure how sanitary it is - Purchased an overpriced skirt steak pie with very little meat, along with a key lime pie that had what was called whipped cream on top but it did not taste like any whipped cream I ever had. I could do better on quality and price at the local shopping center. The woman behind counter was short and too busy posting videos ... making me wait. My wife and I saw this place on the way to Indian Park at Greenwood Lake for a fabulous reunion with life long friends and stopped in on the way home for a look at their homemade chicken pot pies. The place was clean, friendly and had the smell of buttery puff pastry. We purchased the large chicken pot pie and a small mac and cheese pie to bring home to Long Island. First pie we ate upon arrival to our home was the chicken pot pie which, when warmed, filled our home with the most phenomenal scent. We dug into this pie with high expectations and were not disappointed. The pie was loaded with savory goodness. Plenty of chicken, veggies and sauce. Even with the large portions we served for dinner there is still plenty for lunch tomorrow (uggh, back to work, but with the knowledge we have a hearty and delicious meal to remember Shannon's Pies and our great weekend with friends at Greenwood Lake).
